I'd been holding off on replacing my existing stacked washer/dryer because there were so many variables to deal with. My condo association required a ventless dryer, I had limited space, and I didn't want to go through the hassle of bringing in an electrician to change out the existing 240V power receptacle for a standard 120V. I'd also gone through a nightmare with a salesperson at another appliance dealer who lacked attention to detail and frankly had a rotten attitude. When I found a w/d set that would satisfy all of my requirements, I couldn't find the dryer anywhere. Needless to say, I was getting discouraged. Having had positive experiences with P.C. Richard on smaller items in the past, I checked their website to find that they carried both units AND they were on sale. When I got to the store, Kevin M. helped me out, even showing me a couple of discounted (scratch & dent/refurbished) units in addition to the showroom models. After the sale, Kevin kept me updated on the status of my order and even asked me to take a photo of the 240V receptacle to assure we'd settled on the right units. (This was huge for me, as the salesperson at the first place I went to never bothered to ask, and in fact, sold me a 120V unit.) When the stacking piece was delayed, he offered a creative solution so that I'd get the washer and dryer in a timely fashion. On delivery day, the installers actually came *early* and did a great job removing my old w/d and setting up the new ones. I was impressed with their efficiency, attention to detail and that they took all of the packaging material with them when they left. All in all, a great experience! We are on week FIVE an MF I still don't have a dryer. Jared the tech came today to AGAIN say the sensor needs to be changed.. this sensor was changed a week ago. They should have also changed the second part but they refused to & said the problem is the hose vent too close to the wall. That hose has been there from day one and until the first dryer broke there was NO ISDUES. Last week a tech from Den Mark came to FIX the dryer but couldn't as the case was closed. They have a major disconnect internally & are extremely cheap. I REGRET buying from them and even more wasting my money on purchasing the extended five year warrantee. What a bunch of THIEVES. Don't let the sales rep suck you on with their bullshit story. These people don't know their head from their A***. Three out of fit appliances o bought from PC Richard & Sons hace issues. It's the most unreliable appliance distributor I have ever dealt with. 8.4.21 UPDATE JARED a technician came again. Basically said the part they changed they have to change again but couldn't answer WHY the second part wasn't changed. I work from home and HAVE to be available when needed, so I asked him to not leave until we can discuss why the dryer is still not working... well he left. This is the crappy service technicians provide..... ARRRRRGGGHHHH I'm soooooo sick and tired of dealing with PCR&S.. 8.6.21UPDATE Yesterday I received an email the part for my dryer has arrived. I left two messages for Nakia Malina who is a supervisor but have not heard from her yet. In efforts to have my dryer fixed I called the number provided on the email. I'm scheduled for AUGUST 20th. This will EIGHT WEEKS since my first call. I can't believe how AWFUL the service provided is and they do NOTHING to expedite parts and or repair appointments. I'm addition if this doesn't fix the dryer (which it didn't before) Nakia Malina offered a store credit so I can purchase a new dryer.....So I'm STUCK with PCR&S and their crappy service. After a rather disappointing experience with a different small chain appliance store, I decided to make my way to P.C. Richard & Son to see what they had available. Mike, Bobby, and Art were all extremely helpful and provided me a very high level of confidence in not only their knowledge of the product, but also their eagerness to make me as a customer feel comfortable in their store and with the purchase I was to make. I was able to purchase all three of the items I had previously purchased from a different retailer AND was educated on the products with a better price point to boot. The delivery was set up promptly and the salesmen assured me I would not have worries or anything I needed to do prior to the arrival of my items--they take care of it all! Just had the worst experience at the West Carteret store. My intentions was to purchase a laptop and headphones. NO ONE HELPED ME. I watched employees chit chat. A young man was about to help me when the bald head mgr called him to ask about his keys. I waited 20 minutes. There were employees no customers. I went to the customer service desk for help and after a page, still no one came over. No one bothered to even ask me what I wanted. When I walked back to the register the woman walked away because it was her break. This is the worse store and service in America. And the mgr on 1/28/18 at 4pm lost his keys and is too afraid to tell security so he is borrowing his employees keys....how do I know this because they were standing next to me and were so loud. read more

Here is my story. After one month of buying a new fridge, the ice maker stopped working or stopped making ice. I called their customer service and got the first appointment. The technician (Jeff-tech ID#94070) shows up and says he has to order a part to fix the issue. Also, I was not suppose to set the freezer at the coldest temperature (which was total BS as it was set to normal temp.). I was told to set up an appointment as parts were available. The same guy shows up, but without the parts, As per him, he doesn't need to replace any parts but defrosting the fridge will fix the issue. After he left, the ice maker started making ice, but only for a few hours. Also, this guy scratched my newly renovated kitchen floor. Also, busy talking on phone with his family. I set up the second appointment, this time a new guy shows up (Ali A- Tech ID#20076). He came and was not aware about any information on what the previous technician did. Without even checking anything or moving the fridge, he said he has to order a new ice maker. I set up the third appointment, as this was on the weekend, a new guy shows up. (I don't have his ID as he did not share through a GPs tracker). He came with a new ice maker, but said this will not fix the issue as he has to order a water valve to fix the issue. I set up the fourth appointment, this time Joseph shows up with the new ice maker and not the water valve (as I was told by the previous technician). I explained him about the replacement of the ice maker and also told him about water valve. He checked the fridge thoroughly and found the issue (the water pipe kinked as the fridge was pushed too far back against the wall). Also, he mentioned there was no need to change the ice maker. Not sure how true it is. Anyway, after he fixed the pipe, the ice was all over the wall and on at the bottom of my freezer as the ice maker was not installed properly by the previous technician. Joseph came the next day and fixed the issue. While he was there he made sure the issue was fixed. I would say he was an honest guy and did his job without wasting my time. The last time I visited, I was returning an AC I purchased off the showroom floor (no packaging) and it stopped working. The PC Richard's team took it back and provided a credit. I would put no stars if that was available. Classic bait and switch. Salesman Johnson on the phone quoted me a price of $501 all included for a gallery Frigidaire dishwasher that included delivery installation and haul away and tax. I get to the store no one's ever heard of this and after an hour they tell me that they can charge me $750 and take $100 off for the inconvenience. That price of about 650 is what I could've ordered it for online. Why would I drive across the state of New Jersey to go to this store. Do not trust The sales people at this store. The manager of the stores name is Jeff Mason. He does not stand by what his sales associates tell you. His sales associates lie. He had to go to his district manager to get approval to take $100 off. Have to take the time to post a review about my experience with Dave Becker, Salesman @ the PC Richard Southampton location. Although I make a lot of purchases there, it is solely based on the convenience of the location. Generally, my experience is a 'hard' sell regardless of how direct I am. I recently went into the Southampton store to replace a TV and my experience with Dave was 5* +++. He was (instantly) able to look up the info and size of the TV I previously purchased there and wanted to replace and guide me accordingly. He was fully knowledgeable on all the models I inquired about and his info was so impressive I decided to purchase a completely different TV based on his tutorial. BUT!! The BEST part of the whole transaction was that once I made my decision it was over!! NO tortured 'after sale' pressure. He asked me if I wanted the Warranty and I said, "yes". He asked me if I had the required cables to 'hook it up' and I said, "yes". I initially said, "Dave - I'm here to buy a TV - I don't need the usual PC Richard 'hard sell' - I want to pick a TV - keep it moving and go!!" Dave listened and I bought the greatest TV that I never would have considered on his advice and info and he kept it moving. Nicest guy!! So knowledgeable and NO 'sell' approach. Such a pleasure. Wow... what a great idea PC Richards. Love this idea of posting comments. I have been a loyal customer of PC Richards for well over 20 years and I must say this is the BEST store in your portfolio. It's large, open feeling..never cluttered, people are always willing to help...even after the sale. I feel that Joe and Bobby are two of the toughest negotiators but fairest. They are always polite, professional, courteous and they know their products well. Kevin is an unbelievable salesman who goes above and beyond calling me on his days off to answer my questions and alays apologizes for not responding sooner; but I understand, I've seen the line of people waiting for him. I recently purchased some appliances that I did a price comparison with sears. Joe challenged me every step per price and quality. For his honesty and my comfort I purchased there. Regarding delivery like the previous person noted: I understand that a store manages oversees every department and intervenes when necessary. I choose to pick up my items, pay my local sales tax and receive it when I want it. There is only so much space on a truck and who is to say that the shipping clerk will guarantee delivery of that item on my day. Perhaps they receive a large order that fills their trucks on the other side of town. So to me that is not an issue. I drive from Brooklyn to shop here. Saving the cost of a parking ticket and no hassle parking make it worth while. Though the store does need to be more family friendly. Perhaps a kids area so to keep them occupied so the parents may shop. Goodies or activities to keep them occupied. I am givings you a 4 star because you lack the amenities to make your store a family shopping experience. Yes AJ remember those days, or have you become to corporate and forgotten them. Learn after the model from Bob's discount furniture. After all every 1st year marketing student knows that children spend their parents money well.... especially with toddlers who want everything they see. Another reason for a 4 star....AJ do you think you have enough photos of yourself. Pc Richards Carteret has been my go to place for all my appliance and electronic needs the last 5+ years. Prices are competitive and they have quick delivery. Not to mention the 10 year extended warranty offered on appliances. Usually I work with Satish who is Very knowledgeable and takes the time to help you find what you're looking for. Anything out of his control he has great managers to support him, like Bobby and Joe Rosie. These guys are a great team who treat you like family. They have alway done what it takes to keep a satisfied customer. I Even had a great experience with the service call utilizing the extended warranty.. Went back and got the same service I normally get. As always they have a good selection of products at fair prices. They also do price matches from other retailers. This location also happens to be a clearance center. You can definitely get lucky finding products from the discontinued and scratch and dent section.
