Decided to purchase my furniture at Ashley after reading the reviews. Salesperson, Barry Dixon, was very helpful, patient and overall nice. I told him exactly what I needed and he pointed me in the right direction. Tip: have an idea of what you want, it saves time, money and less buttery sweet talk...LOL. I personally appreciated Barry because he knew my budget and helped me stay within my means. He didn't bombard me with buttery sweet talk. Make time to shop for at least 3hrs from start to finish. UPDATE... It's been more than 30 days and I still DO NOT have my furniture. This is completely UNACCEPTABLE. What I am learning, speaking to the store manager is, some of the items I ordered were out of stock. Nobody shared this information with me. The salesperson should have told me so I could have made a decision to place the order or not. In addition, some of my items are at the warehouse however because all my items are not at the warehouse I do not have a shipping date. I'm not sure if corporate office reads Yelp reviews but I'm surely going to write them a nice memo regarding this matter. Another thing I am not pleased with during this ordeal is the amount of time it takes for someone to answer the phone at the store or customer service, going to the store in person gets better results. read more

Please do not buy any furniture from Ashley furniture save your hard, earned money and go somewhere else you'll thank me later! 1) The furniture is made very poorly it doesn't last more than about a year! and what's worse they refuse to stand by their so-called warranties 2) We spent over $3000 for a couch including a $200 for a 5 year warranty. 3) Now we find out (13months later) that the warranty is not worth the paper it is written on...Yes labor is up after one year (true ) but what about the five year warranty I now discover that too is useless anyway... 4)The best they can do is send someone out to inspect it,.. oh and that's another $150 but it cannot be repaired since this particular product is discontinued and parts are no longer available and they call this customer service? 5) They told us in the store they stand behind everything they sell AND they manufacture their own furniture? 6) That seems to be a Bait and Switch, because somehow their own manufactured couchwith all the parts is discontinued..? if you read the so called Ashley Regency newsletter they claim to be putting the best foot forward putting the customers in focus etc. etc. nothing could be further from the truth. Purchased a living room set, dining room set and bedroom set from here. I forgot the name of the lady who helped me through it all but she was lovely. I have no complaints about her or the store itself. However, it took 3mths before it all got delivered and when it finally came my couch was missing a leg, my nightstand is missing screws to put the knobs on and my coffee table is put on crooked and it's been wobbly. As much as i try to tighten it, it dint don't do anything. My bedroom furniture all came with chip marks on them and my nightstand has a little scratch. For all the money i spent on all 3 sets and for all the time i waited for delivery i should've had everything in perfect condition, even and tightened. I didn't even get a good deal when purchasing all 3 sets. All of what i bought was expensive so I'm a bit disappointed. I would not buy any more furniture from Ashley. They cost too much money and then they offer you the insurance. And then you pay for it and then you call them and they do not want to cover the damage. This is the second bed I buy for my son and have bad experience with them. I should have learned from the first time but I guess i wanted to give them a second change. And this is what I get no results and spend a lot of money for furniture not a happy customer. I should have went to BOBS Furniture I probably would been much happier. They just want to sell and get their money and not make the customer happy. DO NOT SHOP HERE!! They are not reliable at all. I placed an order for furniture around August 3rd ish.. I was promised a delivery of Aug 30th, here we are October 4th and I don't have all of my furniture. On Aug 30th, they delivered the wrong master bedroom set, only the dresser of the two twin bedroom sets I ordered were delivered, so the beds are missing. They only delivered the dresser for the third bedroom set we ordered. No dining room and no recliner from the living room set. They delivered my daughters entire bedroom set, the only thing that came in its entirety. When we called to let them know that they had sent the wrong bedroom set along with 3/4's of the furniture was missing, they acted like they were shocked. They said we would get our furniture in two weeks. We were livid and told them to figure it out because we have 5 kids with no beds. The manager never called us back (really tall white guy), not the next day or two weeks later. Never heard from him again. We called back for the next two weeks (because we moved about an hour away) but no one would answer our calls. It was like they knew we were calling and they were avoiding us. We went back to the linden store and canceled out furniture. We got a call less than a week later by Marcos asking us to reconsider and they would make it right (plus they took $1,000 off the bill). They promised us a new delivery date of Sept 28 (one month later). When they came bac They only came back with the dining room set and part for the twin platform beds but since they were missing pieces they couldn't setup the beds. Not to mention their drivers robbed us for $2,400 in cash that we had sitting around. It's going on one week and no one has gotten back to me about our delivery, or about our missing money. They left my boys room in shambles with dismantled furniture everywhere. I've called the linden office and again they aren't answering my phone calls. I don't even know what else to do.. This is a warning, DO NOT EVER GET FURNITURE FROM THIS PLACE. Unreliable to say the least and thieves. As of today, December 6th there has been no resolution to this matter. They will lie and cheat you any way they can to get a sale. They say they will give you something on sale but really raise the price and when they enter the discount they hope you can't do math or won't notice when they charge you more. I gave them one star only because 0 stars or negative stars was not an option. I went to this store to purchase an item and advised them I'd like to use my pre-approved financing. I was told that was okay and I paid my deposit and signed on the dotted line. My sales representative was one Anthony Acosta. When they tried to apply the credit it was unsuccessful. They told me it's likely a system issue which they'd fix and finalize my transaction. I left the store expecting that in due course my item would be delivered. After several follow up I called and was later advised they do not in fact use that finance company. They suggested I try a different company they partner with, which I did not because it offered less than the pre-approved amount. I later went to the store to try seeking a workaround and was met by a young lady with the most abrasive attitude I've encountered, who spoken to me and my wife with such scorn and disdain (for whatever reason that was) I ultimately decided I'd cancel the transaction and take my business elsewhere. I've contacted Anthony several times to get information, updates my refund and to date 3 months later, they've not responded, refused to cancel the transaction and/or refund my deposit. read more

I placed an order for a bedroom set on September 2020, it's now April 2021 and bedroom has yet to be delivered nor receive a status of my order. Each time I call the store the phone rings and hard to reach someone. When I am finally able to reach someone I am told the delivery has been pushed for another month. Been stringed around for months and no accountability. All I been asking is a reasonable estimate on when the delivery will be made before I decide on whether or not to cancel the order entirely. Good luck reaching someone to pick up the phone, and when you finally do the ladies that answers the phones are rude and lack customer service/professionalism. She greeted us and stuck with us throughout our visit. She paid attention to our needs and wants and even took her time to go through our home measurements and helped us weigh out our options to make the best decision that was right for my husband and I. Overall great, fun and easy experience at this Ashley's - it didn't make 5 stars only because of the shipping date. Horrible customer service staff . Waiting a month for a my items which I understood as it was explained to me that it will take about 6 weeks. Contact the store for an update only to find out that free delivery means delivered to the store and find my own way to bring my items home. I explained to the female rep that it was never stated to me I would have to pick up my items or use their third party delivery at my own cost, she continues with "that is between you and who ever sold you it" once I advised her it was unprofessional because I didn't agree to these terms she decides to start screaming on the phone. I reminded her, she's an employee there so if I'm upset regarding my order it's not for her to start screaming at me. She goes on to tell me I can just speak to a manager at another time and to have a good day , followed my hanging up on me. Currently on hold with corporate to file a complaint. Horrible customer service. Went to look for a table and found one in the outlet section. We asked a store rep, Anthony, for the price. He informed us we'd have to take it off the floor and kept pressing us to answer if we will take it or not. We repeatedly said we cannot confirm if we will take it or not if we do not know the price and dimensions. He was so nasty and started to raise his voice and then said "ok we get that you need the price and dimensions. Someone else will help you." Waited for someone else to come for a while and no one showed up. We decided to leave since the interaction was so disrespectful and rude and informed another staff member. The staff member started to explain that women have several bad days in a month and men have their own bad days. And continued to talk about women on their periods. Which has nothing to do with this situation and is very inappropriate. Horrible customer service. 0 stars for this place. DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM ASHLEY FURNITURE STORES!!!!!! HORRIBLE QUALITY AND POOR COMPLAINT RESOLUTION!!! My husband and I purchased a (supposed) leather reclining sofa and love seat for $5000.00 about a year and a half ago from Ashley Furniture in Livingston NJ.  It should have been an indication that our experience would be a nightmare when the day of delivery, one of the workers from their third party delivery service damaged our wall moving the furniture in.   Immediately after delivery, we noticed the arm rest on one of the chairs needed to be replaced  because they did not install enough cushioning inside.   One year after the purchase, we started noticing the material on the seats appeared to be peeling, leaving a sticky substance behind that damaged the clothing of anyone sitting on them and rendered the seat unable to be used. Since when does "real leather" respond this way?   I immediately called Ashley and they asked that I send in pictures and make a claim against the warranty (which they boast that they offer when you make your purchase).  They lost me email with the pictures 3 times and finally said it was not a warranty issue...that this was "the customer's fault" from normal wear!!!  Are you kidding me???!!!  No way should this have occurred EVER...let alone within a year's time. So, according to this logic...Ashley's furniture is "showroom" furniture...it should only be "shown in your room"... not use it.   They added further insult to injury by offering to replace the material, but charge us $150 an hour for the labor it would entail for a technician to do so!  How many hours would that take? This could be extremely costly.  The warranty is supposed to be for manufacture defects...if this is not an issue of defective fabric and poor workmanship...I don't know what is.  Additionally, we still owe $2000 for this furniture and I am thoroughly disgusted!  WE WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM ASHLEY AGAIN!!!!  BUYER BE WARE!!! read more

DO NOT BUY FROM ASHLEY FURNITURE HOMESTORES! I'd give zero stars if it was an option! Timeline of events on an attempt at buying from them below. It's a long one and I'm making it a public Facebook post in case anyone wants to share it as a warning to others. December 31, 2017: We ordered a dining room table and four chairs from the store in Linden, NJ. The sales process was fine enough and we scheduled delivery for January 20, 2018. They tell me someone will confirm a couple days in advance with the four hour delivery window. January 17, 2018: I receive a text message and a phone call (from a human person) to confirm delivery for January 20, 2018 during the window of 2-6PM. January 20, 2018 (2-7PM): We stay home all day to make sure we're there. At 6PM there has been no phone call and no delivery. I call the number on the invoice and after going through the automated menus for "delivery" I am on hold to speak to a human. No one picks up the phone. I wait on hold for over an hour. Using another phone I also try dialing in to other menu items (Sales, etc...) during this time. The exact same thing happens. Stuck on hold. There is no way to call the local store. Every number tried sends you to this automated limbo. January 20, 2018 (7PM): Just after 7PM I leave the house and drive to the store where we placed the order. I'm given answers like, "This isn't the first time we've heard this today..." and "HR is supposed to take those calls and redirect them to the right place..." and "We have a new computer system..." and "The company has been bought by another company and the transition has been a nightmare..." They look in the computer and see that they have the chairs in the warehouse but not the table. There was no plan to attempt to deliver that day even though the appointment was confirmed. They say they can "maybe" deliver it on January 27 but there's no guarantee and that they can "maybe give you $100 back or something." The delivery charge was more than $100. Stay Away From This Business! Over the course of 4 months, and after spending thousands of dollars with this organization, I highly recommend you do NOT purchase furniture from them. We purchased a sectional, dining room table, King sized mattress, and King sized bed. We were shipped the wrong mattress and forced to keep it, and our sectional was shipped with the wrong/ mismatched feet. We called and emailed customer service multiple times and they refuse to rectify the situation. Feeling helpless, we filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Ashley Furniture didn't respond. They have an F rating. I purchased 6K worth of new furniture in September 22. My love seat, couch and chair and a half are all making cracking noises and the cushions are sagging. I have made numerous phone calls wanting store credit. Ashley sent out a Furniture Doctor twice and they both agree that the furniture is defective. Despite recommendations I keep getting blown off with " we will have a response within 48-72 hours" we are seniors and are on a budget. I spoke to reps out of state and they as well having given me a hard time. This has been going on for 5 months now and I dont know what other recourse I have. Im contacting the BBB and then an attorney. I strongly urge anyone contemplating buying furniture from Ashley to go elsewhere where they stand behind their prodcut. BUYER BEWARE read more
