The park was alight with brilliant shades of red and amber leaves falling from the trees. It made for a beautiful drive to see the color. The park does require a star park recreation pass or sticker on your vehicle to drive around, but the office appeared closed for the season, yet the park was still open, so it didn't matter. It's a nice sized park and is well-maintained, with plenty of nice spots for taking in scenery, lake views on one side, restrooms, and picnic areas. I recommended it for anyone who loves nature. Visit in the fall while the trees are turning color, yet weather seems temperate.

What a blast! My friend came up to visit from downstate Michigan, and we were looking for something…read morefun and something outdoors to do. We decided to book an ATV adventure with Big Bear. It was money well spent. Big Bear provided sanitized helmets, goggles and bandanas to wear. We brought our own bandanas because we wanted to wear pink but I appreciated the extra effort on their behalf. They were very on top of COVID precautions. While we were waiting for our ride, the staff running the tubing adventures, were so efficient. They were unloading passengers and sanitizing the vans before loading another group, they were still moving quickly and intentionally. Our guide, Raph, was excellent, he explained everything very well, was kind and patient. It was very much appreciated because I had never driven a side by side before. Raph took us on some amazing trails, we stopped at Weber Lake and enjoyed the water and scenery. We made memories we'll never forget. I have a girls weekend planned in July and we have already reserved our spot for another adventure. Thanks Raph!

It was the most chaotic, stressful, dangerous thing we've done as a group. Do not do a rafting trip if you think you're going to have any time to enjoy the scenery, talk, or enjoy a family activity. The river was extra fast due to high water levels and there are constant obstacles to avoid. We are all lucky to have made it with only minor injuries. Way too many close calls. It was not just us that were not enjoying our time on the river. Every kayaker and tuber we encountered felt exactly the same way. Several said they'd been crying at times, it was so chaotic.

There is always noise, kids riding their bikes everywhere, and campers packed up like sardines. The campground was extensive and we were fortunate enough to have a campground with a view of Burt Lake itself in the distance! One of the days we were here, we basically spent the entire day on the lake and it was so nice! This state park has a really nice (and MASSIVE) beach area, which extends into an even more massive boat-free area in the water for people to swim and play in without worrying about the boats getting in the way! It was incredible! Burt Lake State Park is truly a 5-star kind of park for all it has to offer to day visitors and campers alike! Additionally, and probably most wonderfully, you can't beat the location of this state park! It's centrally located at the tip of the lower peninsula of Michigan and only 30 minutes away from both Mackinaw city/Mackinac Island to the north and Petoskey to the west! We visited both during our trip here and absolutely loved it! Couldn't recommend this state park more!
