My toddler had an unfortunate accident and needed an emergency dental appointment and the NHS Direct service managed to get us an appointment here. The surgery is easily accessible by car and buses stop literally right outside it. Inside it's clean, bright and tidy with a pleasant and welcoming receptionist. The dentists are extremely pleasant and set both adult and children at ease being gentle and attentive and most importantly friendly and thorough. Despite being 'full' they very kindly accepted myself and both my children on their books going out of their way to help us. All in all a fantastic dental practise.

The dental practice is…read morewell established and has been there for perhaps 30 or 40 years during which time it has changed hands and expanded internally. It is a private practice although has a small budget for NHS patients but not all treatments may be available. They practice has six surgeries with five dentists and two hygenists. You can also get implants, bleeching and botox done here. If you can't make it to the surgery in office hours they do open late for two nights every month. My brother has just spent almost 2 weeks in tremendous pain due to poor customer service from this…read morepractice. The receptionist had confirmed via phone that NHS patients were accepted, duly clarified the required paperwork and arranged an appointment for a few days later. Upon arrival, the receptionist informed my brother the documentation she had advised was actually insufficient and they could only accept an NHS Letter of Entitlement or immediate payment. My brother departed without saying a word (he could barely talk due to the pain). A Letter of Entitlement was duly obtained, but upon recontacting the practice, the receptionist has now confirmed that advised they are unwilling to accept him as a patient. It would seem the practice never had any intention of fulling their NHS obligations and instead of declining the patient in the first instance, they have acted dishonestly, obstructively, shown some amount of prejudice and caused unnecessary suffering.

Although it is a private dentist i never feel like they are trying to carry out unnecssary work and they will only do what is required. They help me make the most of my dental allowance from my insurance policy and send you both e-mail and text reminders which is great as i often book appoinments at 6 month intervals. Imram my dentist and Rachel the hygienist are lovely and i trust them both implicitly to take care of my teeth nd kerp everything on tip top condition. If you are needing a dentist in th city centre i recommend this one. They can offer pay monthly schmes and often do seasonal tooth care packages.

I was in incredible pain, and was dubious that id be able to find a dentist that would accept me - i thought id have to wait until i was home and then make an appointment there. As i say, they were able to see me at short notice and i found the dental practice to be quite a relaxing place and the dentist that i saw put me at my ease. After about 40 minutes of dental work my condition was stabilised and i was out of pain and able to continue my trip. I felt the dental charges were quite high, but i couldnt fault there service in any way and if i lived closeby i would probably use them again.

Youngs specialise in mobility and access equipment for the elderly and disabled, they sell new and…read moreused wheelchairs and scooters, stairlifts and recliners and offer a hire service too. We took my nan here when she finally accepted she needed wheels, and she bought her very first granny mobile here. The staff were so friendly and patient, allowing her to test drive several models. The wheelchair she bought was quite cheaply priced, although I think the quality reflected that as she needed a replacement soon after. I have since heard the shop has become more specialised, and so the quality may have improved. The shop is a little inaccessible, which is a little ironic given its audience, and we required taxis to and from the shop, however a delivery service is available if you can't get out and about.
