Flushing's Bowne PS 20, is home to summer day camps as well as the local Public elementary school. Also many other fine organizations have their home base in this public school. Flushing public School 20, is located in the heart of the Flushing Community. The beautiful large play area has basketball courts and a children's play area here. Every morning folks exercise, practice Tai Chi and relax in this Sunny Spot. This large community meeting spot is also where the annual crime fighting event, "Flushing's Night Out". Is sponsored each year. I love coming to this area, truly relax under the beautiful Giant oak trees, hundreds of years old. These trees Flushing's first citizens, provide such a beautiful shade as you exercise and relax and this historic location. I'm looking for more historical information for updates to my review. This school goes from K-Grade 8 and is really small and focused on giving each student individual attention and maximizing their potential. When I graduated there were only 135 kids in the entire school and my class was made up of 15 kids. It has a synagogue on the main floor because the school rents the upper floor and basement which is where they have a gym. This is a private school without the uniforms and has lots of field trip activities and even puts on annual plays at Queens Theater in the Park. If you're in the neighborhood then this is a great place to bring your children to. The relationships you create here are extra strong and I am still friends with almost half my graduating class. P.S. It's expensive as hell though

First of all, with the amount of money you pay for tuition, the school has no nurse or a counselor on staff. If anything happens to your child they just send him or her to the principal where they give him or her a band aid and cold compress. They even made a 4-year old hold an ice-pack on her fore-head all day without a teacher's help. And may God help you if your child is a little strong-willed, they will not only treat the child as a plague, but you the parent also. I have never seen a school so intolerant as this school. Their attitude to the parent who complains is unbelievably rude. I think the worse mistake I ever made was bringing my child to this school. My child has since gone to Catholic school and is doing very well.

This building is there to hog parking spaces…read more But 20 years ago, it used to be a place that fed me free food, taught me English, and scammed me with their overpriced chocolates. I swear... pyramid scheme began in elementary schools. But seriously though... this is one of the safest schools out there. Everyone in this neighborhood is so tame. Kids just run pretty rampant here like they own the place. They rebuilt the school yard and fixed the basketball hoop so now I can no longer slam dunk on it. The cool thing about this school is that they have a dedicated music class where you can learn how to play the string instruments. If you like to see your poor kid holding up a full size bass, go for it.

From monolingual to speak simple mandarin sentences and understand most of the sentences. She sings new mandarin songs at home everyday. The daycare teacher there Vicky and Anna is really caring and let me know the feedback every day when I pick her up. Can't wait the COVID-19 issue finished and sent her back to school.
