Yes, he asked me few times "are you ready/are you buying this...." No small talk like New Yorker. I recently visited House of Scrimshaw on a recent trip to Newport. I purchased two long sleeve tee…read moreshirts, as gifts. When I got home to PA, I realized the tee shirts were too small. I called the store and explained that I wanted to return the shirts for size and if I included a Fed Ex return envelope would they exchange....without hesitation, they agreed. I was told to address the envelope to Rhonda. After receiving the shirts, Rhonda called me and explained that she could not replace the shirts exactly.... color and logo were different. I said that was fine, I was more concerned about size. Within two days, I received the right shirts. Customer Service was amazing......I am most grateful!

Though this is a small store, it have plenty of things going for it. There's a sign that said everything is half off outside and when I went in, it seemed to be the case as everything was marked down. There was a very friendly worker there who greeted me warmly and helped me whenever I asked questions. Though she was swamped with customers, being alone there, she was still helpful to the best of her abilities. Great little store. Would come again if I need to get some souvenirs again in Newport.

The owner was so sweet and kind, she definitely made us feel more welcome and enjoyed the experience even more. Hopefully next time we go, we get to see the shop in its full glory. Buyers BEWARE!!! I purchased a sweatshirt from the Tourist Trap (perfect name!) with Cash. As the…read moreclerk was checking me out, I was putting the sweatshirt in a bag and I noticed the sweatshirt had a huge hole right in the front! I let the clerk know and she looked at me and said sorry, No refunds. I said you have got to be kidding me just give me the $10 back and cancel the transaction. She said it was against their policy. She did say I could exchange it, but it was the last sweatshirt like this so not really an option I wanted. I should also mention that the same owner owns Scrimshaw and I was told to go talk to the manager over there. She literally laughed at me! Neither location was willing to go in the back to check for another one like the one I had so I ended up exchanging for a sweatshirt I didn't even want!

Only difference is that some stores may have more products of bottle openers than others. We brought a bottle opener of rhode island here. Store was organized. Paid via credit card and went on our merry way!
