Type of care? After 7 months of my GP referring me to Dr. Shihadi, he still had not indicated if he had accepted or rejected the referral. In the intervening period I phoned several times starting after 3 months. No one answers - only messages - that would be okay but I never had a phone call returned. Matters only were sorted out after I went in person - without any appointment- to chase down my lost or missing referral. This company is SO disorganized. On October 16/20, Dr. Ko's office sent a requisition fax to LifeLabs. I went to Lifelabs a few days later and was told the fax was not received. I phoned Dr. Ko's office and was told to wait a few more days. I again visited Lifelabs on October 22nd and was told once again that the fax had not been received. I phoned Dr. Ko's office again today (October 22) and was told that my middle name had been used on the requisition instead of my last name. No apology was offered. The admin staff have been abrupt and dismissive with me from the very beginning. It truly is a shame that staff have not been trained to treat patients with the same courtesy and respect as shown by Dr. Ko. Is this a leadership issue? read more

I've had excellent care here. My doctor, Dr. Moosavi, is amazing. She is compassionate, skilled, caring, thorough and has great communication skills. She took the time necessary to explain the treatments, prescription, etc. to me. I am really grateful to her. Also, her receptionist is organized and helpful. I am really grateful. The location is near St. Paul's hospital and easy to get to from transit. One thing is you have to confirm your appointment on a phone answering machine. So you don't get a call back which had me worried at first but it all worked out (they do check the messages). read more

Dr. Bressler has been treating me since 2006. He is lovely, kind, and great at his job. I highly recommend him if you can manage to score an appointment. His receptionist, Hazel, on the other hand makes me absolutely batty. Confirming appointments with me via email, I show up and there is nothing scheduled (8 months pregnant, I might add. Not an easy task). Then, she forgets to send a requisition off until I remind her 4 MONTHS LATER. Her error directly impacted me and delayed my treatment. Amazing. Mind officially blown. A western medicine doctor who doesn't look down on you when you share that you've gone vegan and also see a Doctor of Chinese Medicine... Dr. Bressler you are the BEST. I am actually disappointed I don't need to see him anymore. I waited 6 months to see him, trust me peeps, totally worth the wait. He is super knowledgeable, friendly and interested in you as a patient and a person. Even though he's not the dude to help me with my ailments he still asked me what the other doctors in my life wanted to do, congratulated me on my new vegan life choice and did not get offended when I expressed my interest in a more eastern medicine approach/ a desire to stop taking the prescription he had me on. Terrible horrible and frustrating and tortuous experience at all levels in the office and with one of the two top doctors in Van (not Dr. Bressler)...Dr. ignores all forms of communication and acts as though he is THE gift to any issue from your mouth to butt even without actually listening to your issues...let's just say he likes to prescribe the same crap for everyone irregardless of your specific condition which he doesn't even have a clue of because he doesn't listen. Heavens help you or me particularly if we are patient's who seek answers, alternatives, or are even proactive/advocates for themselves. Question a MD? specialist? Never! Ever! Never! Attitude problem with an A is what this office is. Oh yes, I forgot - this is the same two top docs that had no problem charging people $1K + at False Creek PRIVATE medical center for the same procedure who have since then been renovating that dept. Make no mistake - his 2014 income was nearly 700K! Get ready to duck from being yelled at or getting their procedural/research Nurse E to bully you if you so much as correct or share a different point of view with this doctor...of course, if you have any new or old research...never mind that because you are a nobody and if you are scared at any procedure, get ready to be mocked and then have to beg for appointments. I would rather be seen by a half human hair netted under educated crocodile with toe nail clippers for hands, a kayak for a procedural bed along with a club to knock me out instead of their drowsy cocktail, than set foot in that doctor's office again. I bet the worlds smartest kid would have an answer and treatment faster than these morons at this office. If you're not dying or can't make them money doing procedures at the hospital or office, then they don't care about you. God help us all when we need help and a proper diagnosis and only have hungry greedy wolves for medical practitioners. read more

AVOID DOCTOR BRESSLER AT ALL COSTS! My entire experience with him has been a nightmare. Cancelled appointments, showing up hours late for the appointments I did get and now the prescription he has provided me is not completed. The pharmacist advised me the compound is missing from the prescription and they will require that to make it. Now, 5 days after I dropped off my prescription to the Pharmacists I call to check the status of my prescription. She then informed me they have called and faxed doctors Bressler's office at least 3 times each to find out the missing information. They are refusing to provide her the information and making her jump through hoops to get it, she told me she would make note of this if anything is too arise form this situation. I contacted the office myself to see if I could get the information needed and the MOA refused to provide me with the information "because that's what the doctor said..." are you kidding me? I have reported Dr. Bressler previously and I will be sure to add this information my case file. Save yourself a headache and request a specialist with knowledge, empathy and respect for his patients. He is an extremely childish doctor, rather then string your patients along, give them what they need and that will be the end of it. read more

I've been going to Pacific Gastroenterology for over 10 years and have found Dr. Halparin (now retired) and Dr. Greg Rosenfeld to be extremely attentive and interested in resolving my GI issues (as well as my wives). When needed, they have been quick to refer top-notch experts in other medical fields and have even expedited my wait period. It's been a long journey and I can't help but feel I would be in a lot worse shape if not for their care. read more
