Shady, shady, shady is all I can say about this business. The person answering the phone lied when I originally phoned to ask if they do Ketamine treatment management she said they don't, very vaguely and acted like she never heard of ketamine, and I said I must have called the wrong number and she said, yes. I then phoned back the hospital to say I had the wrong number, they called the number they had originally given to me and verified it was correct so I called back. I got the same person and started in again pretending she had no idea what I was talking about. I asked her why was she doing that. She wouldn't answer. I explained that the doctor's office gave me their number and confirmed with her that they do ketamine and asked for her name because she was so shady. She would not give it to me and hung up on me. I called back several times, asking her to speak to someone in charge, and asking for her name, and why she's behaving in an unprofessional manner. She would not budge and kept hanging up on me. I was hoping to get another person to answer the phone, but it was her each time. Finally, she gave me her name "Alex" which I don't believe is true. I then called back the hospital and told them not to refer anybody to them because of her unprofessionalism. Shocking behavior from someone administering psychiatric medication. I found Dr Hollingsworth for my daughter over a year ago cause he got good reviews and was near her. She was diagnosed with bipolar years prior and we wanted to make sure she got proper treatment. I never met him cause she was an adult when she went to him and she was too busy to research doctors at that time she was still in school and working. She liked him at first then was indifferent to him and just had to go to get her necessary psyche meds that they held hostage until we spent $160-180 every telemed five minute meeting for. She had complained about their policies a few times and I urged her to look to other doctors bc I wasn't sure she had the right meds based in what I saw in her moods and he didn't seem to listen to her. Weeks ago I reached out twice to him because I saw an escalation in her behavior and moods. I know they can't discuss her with me but even a simple reply that they heard me would've been helpful. We were scared for her but she was an adult so we had little control. She did escalate badly and we went down to help her after several serious red flags and she was eventually hospitalized after bringing her in to be evaluated at the ER. When she needed him most after her psyche ward hospitalization after another manic episode and psychosis which led to the ER doctors keeping her on involuntary hold, he seemed to mock us for it and doubt her bipolar Diagnosis (didn't even get the clinical notes yet from her hospitalization and wasn't interested in what us parents experienced) After going through hell with our daughter she wanted us to join her telemed appt because she knew she was sick and knew we needed to talk to Dr H but all he did was interrupt us, second guess us, tell her to cut off communication with us and now she hasn't spoken to us in five days because she is still recovering from a huge ordeal and vulnerable and she was ready to get aftercare treatment until she spoke with him and convinced her to basically break up with her parents who he doesn't know AT ALL! He has no clue what we've gone through with our daughter. She's really good at manipulating things when she's well. He had a job- to diagnose and give meds and he added another job, interfere and turn our vulnerable daughter against us, the only ones who have truly had her best interest at heart! Saying we were bad for her mental health. Well no, her substances and denial and enabling friends and this doctor are bad for her mental health. My daughter had an appointment and she talked to a black screen, Dr. Hollingsworth couldn't be bothered to show is face on zoom. As for his treatment, my daughter was on the call for 15 min and after pouring her heart out, he says "you are barking up the wrong tree, and I cant help you" and wished her good luck. To start, I have been a patient of Pacific Psych Centers for over 6 years now. I've received medicine management, TMS, and have collectively spent thousands at this office. Recently, my care was abruptly terminated and the justifications were 1) too many "no-shows", despite giving no warning beforehand and having scheduling SW (OnPatient) that has had constant mishaps, and 2) that the office would soon be moving away from medicine management entirely and towards TMS/Ketamine treatments. There have been countless scheduling errors (which account for a percentage of these no-shows) and the remainder of these are due to diabetes complications which present themselves with little forewarning. Additionally, my medicine management remained relatively flat over several months and rather than issue more refills, they have required that I make expensive appointments to receive my medication despite having no symptomatic complaints. Lastly, after trying several times to reach the office for the past 2 weeks via email and phone in order to get my medical records transferred to a new doctor, I have been consistently ignored. Upon calling from a different phone number, they finally picked up. Overall, it seems like Pacific Psych Centers is more interested in profits from expensive therapies over the wellbeing of long standing patients. As a diabetic I feel discriminated against since these "no-shows" were a completely unavoidable consequence of a chronic disease. Whether it be intentional or not, they failed to give sufficient notice of care termination, did not assist in finding new care, did not refill prescriptions, and made it extremely difficult to release my medical records to my new care provider. Without mentioning any names, I've been to several other ketamine centers. This one by far blows the other ones out of the water. I have now had seven treatments there and I would never go any place else. Dr. Jake and Dr. Jessica truly care. They go to out of their way to make sure that you have the best experience possible. I was hoping this was going to be a great experience as I suffer from major depression and am drug resistant. Today was my third treatment here and it will be my last. After raising my dose 10mg, I was left alone, as usual, but this was a very different trip. When I came out of it, I was very out of it. Very high still after waiting for 10-15 minutes to get up. When I opened the door from the treatment room the Doctor was no where to be found, there was no nurse, just one receptionist. I could barely talk but told her I was really out of it. Her only thought was to offer me some water and tell me to have a nice day and send me out of the office. I stumbled out and while waiting for my ride, tried to cross the street and was nearly struck by a car. I really get the feeling that this place is more about the money than it is about truly helping the patient. Ketamine did not seem to work for me, but everyone is different. All I am saying is do your due diligence and make sure the place you select has your wellbeing in mind. read more

I have nothing but the highest of genuine praise for Dr. Jake & his staff, they are an outstanding group of professionals. I live 200+ miles roundtrip from the clinic, making near fifty trips during the course of the past five months for IV Ketamine, B12, iTBS, and rTMS treatment. I wish I could better articulate how successful the treatments have been, miraculous doesn't seem to carry my sentiments far enough. Each day is no longer an immense challenge, rather an opportunity to feel better and be more productive. Every staff member I encountered took the time to know me as an individual; I credit their demeanor equally to the actual treatment. Dr. Jake has secured a staff that not only has made me feel valued, but encouraged. Commuting five hours for treatment is no easy task, however when you're welcomed with a smile and sincere conversation you're encouraged to keep coming back. The infusion room was very comfortable with reclining chairs and warm comfy blankets. I was so relaxed before I even got the ketamine. Nothing surprised me about the treatment. Warm, caring, nonjudgmental staff, and Robert Bennet is an encyclopedia of knowledge on medications, including the newest treatments, and meds that are just coming to market. The office is beautiful, right up the street from beautiful Del Mar beach, and they can usually get you in for same day appointments! I had some medication issues, and insurance problems and the staff was so patient, I must have called them a dozen times, and they were polite, friendly, and helpful every time. A few years ago, a person close to me came to me for help with debilitating depression. At the time, I was attending school for advance practice nursing and had unfettered access to medical data bases. I was looking for answers besides the usual treatment of years of anti-depressants with common side effects like weight gain and decreased libido. My research quickly found small dose Ketamine treatment for not only depression, but PTSD and chronic pain. You can easily find information on youtube about the Yale Medical School ER giving Ketamine to patients with suicidal thoughts who one hour later are changed for the positive. I was definitely a bit nervous about beginning ketamine treatments and had A LOT of questions. Dr. Hollingsworth was extremely patient, very knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable before and during the treatments. Clinic is clean and quiet and receptionists are very friendly and welcoming. Limited parking in front. Starbucks close by for family/friends to wait while you have appointment, or plenty of room in the lobby. After a consultation, Dr. Hollingsworth explained to me everything to expect from the first few minutes of the infusion to how I would feel during and after. IV was painless and I relaxed in a reclining chair with a pillow and blanket for about an hour during the infusion. After the infusion, felt a bit groggy for about 15 minutes. Walked to a nearby restaurant, had a light snack and about an hour later, was feeling pretty good, (closest feeling I can describe is like the happy you feel on vacation). Took the dogs and the kids out for a walk and ice cream later. Slept better than I can remember in a really long time. I have noticed personally, in the following days, I am running on time going places..usually a problem for me, because of anxiety. I have had the desire to do more things, instead of staying home. I also have noticed I am more tolerant of things I would usually be annoyed at. And, things that would cause me to feel anxious, I recognize, but I can acknowledge them and move past it. From what I had read going into this, Ketamine was supposed to have the fewest side effects of all other meds for depression. All the other meds treatments had not worked and had very bad side effects. I really had high hopes for Ketamine. BUT not only did it not work, the side effects were the worst of all the other meds. And they lasted for 7 days!! Don't rush into this if you have had bad experiences with other meds for depression. Especially if you get nauseated after surgery. Also, don't expect to get any return calls if the treatment does not work and you need help with the side effects. I did not get a return phone call. read more
