Do not sign up with Vivint especially if you are an Armed Forces Member!…read more We have been with Vivint for about a year, we got orders to another state, and needed to cancel our contract as we do not need the service in the new area we are moving to because of our Military PCS orders. We have spent the last 4 weeks dealing with them and their customer cancellations department. First they asked us to send in a cancellations letter with a copy of our orders. We did that 3 weeks ago when we had the hard copy in hand. We called a week later, they said they were really busy and had not received them yet, called a few days later they had not received them and/or lost them and ask that we fax them in again. I did not feel like going through the hassle again so I called back until finally getting someone who went above and beyond (ex-military I assume), she gave me her personal Vivint email and asked that we scan it and send it to her. We did that and our orders/cancellation letter finally made it to the special cancellations department after dealing with it for 17 days. After getting the run around for another week with various hold times we got our answer and they said "No" they would not allow us out of our contract unless we were moving on base, or in an apartment where the landlord wouldn't allow the installation of a new system. Because we are buying our own home, they would have to transfer it into the new home. I let them know after all the hassles of even trying to cancel I wouldn't not want to do business with a company that doesn't support Military members and their PCS Orders. We haven't had any problems cancelling anything else like our Verizon Wireless contract, and being a previous service member cancelling Sprint contract when I moved. On top of all the run around and multiple phone calls, and un-needed stress they have added to our PCS when my husband signed the contract the guy who came into our home said it was only a 2yr contract and its actually a 4 year contract, my husbands fault for not reading what he signed but none the less very shady! Save yourself the hassle and the money especially if you are a Military member and could be PCSing/Deploying or separating not by choice. They do not care that you are military with the possibility of leaving your residents because the Military tells you to move. I am not sure if they will have to cancel the contract because of the "SERVICEMEMBERS CIVIL RIGHTS ACT" which most companies abide by, but we are meeting with JAG next week to find out.

On the day of delivery I got several updates first promising a window of 9:00 to 11:00 and the appointment kept pushing back and back. I finally got a hold of guy who said we will be there at 7:30 tonight . At 9:00 I finally got ahold of them again "Oh were are not coming". No call back for 4 days, By then I was at my home out of state. I am canceling the order and going to Karl's PS called the district manager 3 weeks ago and still have not received a call.

Another 15 minutes a employees finally acknowledges my existence and ask if I need help to witch I respond " yes I'm trying to buy a surface with the detachable keyboard " immediately walks past me to a lady and starts helping her instead. Another employee comes over finally helps and I am extremly clear that I do not care about price I just need whatever surface they have in stock that has the removable keyboard since I just need the tablet feature.... Tells me the only one they have is 1200. I say I'll take it and I finally depart Best Buy after almost 2 hrs. Get home, open the Bag and package only to find out they had sold me a surface laptop instead of the surface pro after stating/checking multiples times that it had the detachable keyboard.... And Best Buy's solutions to this head ache " we can order one, it will be about 5 days. Anyone can order one online for cheaper then Best Buy and get it faster. The point in going to a physical store is to walk out with the product in hand, especially when your inventory says the item is in stock. The point is not to waste hrs in the store just to be told it has to now be ordered online
