I really wanted to support this local business because I believe in shopping local, but unfortunately the customer service was extremely disappointing. The two employees working were blatantly rude, ignored customers, and made us feel like we were an inconvenience rather than valued patrons. A friendly greeting or simple acknowledgment goes a long way, but instead we were met with poor attitudes and a lack of basic courtesy. Great customer service is just as important as the products or services a business offers, and sadly this experience fell far short of that. I genuinely hope management addresses. I'd much rather support a local business than a large chain, but respectful customer service is the minimum customers should expect. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this treasure of a store. Went in for a wedding card and left having spent 400.00. But boy was it worth it. The store is filled with eclectic delights for the kitchen, the bathroom, home decor, and the garden. Looking for a unique gift for a friend, go here. Looking to spoil yourself with something to spruce up your house, go here. We love to decorate our home in a way that accentuates Latin American art. We found beautiful art pieces, cut and hand designed out of oil drums, in the form of suns, tree of life, etc. It was hard to choose one, so I chose two! The people who work there are so nice, helpful, and took the time to answer questions before we made our purchase. Yes it was pricey, but that was our choice. It was worth every penny as our house has been enhanced and it makes my heart happy. This was one of the only stores open during our walk in downtown Visalia, but what a great find! You'll find lots of cooking and baking items, candles, incense, and tons of other miscellaneous items if you are looking for that perfect unique gift. They seem to be in the business of building baskets for the holidays (Easter, Mother's Day, etc), so likely a go-to location to handle any of your gifting needs. Pacific Treasures & Gourmet is a great store in the heart of Visalia's beautiful Main Street. This place is chocked full of premium kitchenware, gadgets and many other household items will give any high end chain store in any larger city a run for its money. I stopped in a few weeks ago after having lunch on Main Street and was happy to see a store of such quality. Prices are so-so. The service, however, did not match the caliber of the store with not so much as a thank you when receiving my change because the clerk was preoccupied with another employee. Said clerk was so preoccupied that she also forgot to charge me for a candle, then proceeded to make excuses when I went back to pay for it over an hour later after realizing that I wasn't charged. Get it together, lady. I'll be nice and only subtract one star for the clerk with bad customer service skills. read more

I love this store. If you need to get someone a housewarming / thank you / etc. gift, or just need some household items, this store makes great gift baskets! Sometimes I don't always know what my clients might enjoy, and the employees here always take their time to give their input on different ideas. Nice selection of over priced gourmet items BUT that being said if I could give negative stars I would. They are NOT helpful. They WILL follow you around like you don't have money to spend even though I (used to) regularly send in my assistant for items I no longer will. They will make you wait if you are not one of them. I try to shop local but never here again ! I will shop Harry & David's on-line they have amazing gourmet items AND a wonderful array of gift baskets. I was in town for a convention and was checking out the downtown Visalia shopping and went into this store because I love these types of boutique home goods stores. Pros They had a nice selection of items for the home and kitchen. The clerk was friendly and very helpful. Nice selection of unique specialty food items that I haven't seen in other stores. Cons The parking is on the street and can be a bit of a challenge. The prices were a tad high but the quality was certainly there. read more

I went into the Store intending to purchase kitchen decor, a frame and utensils. I recently purchased a second him in Visalia. I had heard good things from friends. I noticed the employees continued to circle the area i was in. I moved along towards the register where i wanted to ask for wall art. I didn't receive the customer service that other women in the store were. I put the items that I selected back and I'm glad i didn't have the opportunity to show them my black Amex card. Horrible customer service - They told me I could exchange an item. They processed the exchange and I left the store. Less than an hour later I got a call from the store explaining they made a mistake and I needed to return the item!! That couldn't have been figured out while I was in the store??? Cute items at unreasonable prices. I looked up multiple of their items online and found them priced at 30-50% less than the prices at Pacific Treasures. For example, I found a hand lotion here priced at $42 (for 6 OZ.) and found the exact same lotion priced for $20 online. I understand this is a local business, but MANY of their items are not reasonably priced. It's better to go somewhere else and get your money's worth. read more

This place is great to have in town. A great selection of kitchen and household items, as well as some specialty foodstuffs. And specialty pet stuff. And specialty garden stuff. And specialty baby stuff. Well, you know what, just a bunch of special stuff. Even a selection of salts from around the world. They've helped me out several times when it comes to gift shopping, even going above and beyond the call of duty when needed. They'll even gift wrap items for those of us who have no particular skills in that arena. Beware though, their selection of gadgets can easily result in an overstuffed stocking come Christmas! About the only downside I can think of is their unusual/exclusive colored bags that they put your purchases in. If you're seen walking into the house with one of those, it'll be obvious where you've been shopping (at least to anyone in the know). Here you have two options: 1) The aforementioned gift-wrapping, which merely allows the exact object(s) to remain unknown. It'll still be obvious where the item(s) came from. OR 2) After making your purchase, you go to the grocery store. Select a couple of steaks, or maybe the fixin's for crab tacos, then either a nice bottle of wine or a SIX PACK* of beer to complement the meal. Maybe some coffey ice cream for dessert... Have them put your purchases in paper grocery bags, and obtain an extra bag. Now simply place your Pacific Treasures purchases into the extra paper grocery bag, and VIOLA! You can walk right into the house without anyone seeing where you've been. Just casually put away all of the "groceries" and you're good. Enjoy the nice meal you so thoughtfully planned and everything goes off without a hitch. So there you have it. Great shopping for gifts or everyday items. Gift wrapping, Jelly Bellies, do-it-yourself ice cream sandwich kits, and even a fisherman who never tells fish stories... Stop in, you'll be glad you did. *NOTE: It is recommended to use a SIX Pack only. Overpriced. You can buy a lot of these specialty types of items at World Market, Bed Bath and Beyond or even online for less than half of the price. The ladies who work there seem nice, and if I really like something I am usually willing to spend a little extra, but this place just has outrageous prices on everything. Probably the only place in town where you can get premium cooking tools. Macy's, its more like Walmart as far as quality items go, probably better off going to Marshalls than the Macys. Anyway, I got friendly service today, as I always have in the past. Bought a 7 Qt Le Creuset and Swiss Diamond non-stick today, prices were the same if not a little better than any online store. A lot of the premium brands do not offer big discounts or sales, so might as well save your time and money and forego the online route. Also, another review says you can find the same stuff at world market...uh, I highly doubt that. All the stuff at work market is totally inferior and made in places like China, Pakistan, and India, and is not made to last. While I do have several furniture pieces that are nice from world market, the kitchenware just does not compare to the premium French made and USA made products. Also...shop local! I totally disagree with Helen L. I have been shopping at Pacific Treasure since the first week they opened the doors. They carry the "best of best" and it's always changing with new items added all the time. You can find items from .99 cents to $300. Helen needs to compare apples to apples. There is no way she found the same products for a fraction of the cost, maybe some wanna-b products. But even if they sold the same brands "big box/chain" stores buy their merchandise in such large quantities that they can afford to sell them for less. Then once you make the purchase if you need it wrapped your going to have to spend an additional $15-20 plus your time and frustration. Pacific Treasure's gift wrapping is legendary & they do not charge extra for it either. Try getting that service at Bed, Bath & Beyond! Also, twice I have asked the owner to order a product that I was unable to get in Visalia and she did!!! You would never get that to happen at Target. We have the best downtown in the valley and it is due to the privately owned businesses and the the people who refuse to let the chain stores take over. I guess you can't please everyone, but I did happen to notice Helen has written several reviews and most of them were less then complimentary....could we just be dealing with a negative person??? read more

While this store has a great selection of items, the several times I have been in I have not received the warm and friendly customer service they advertise on their website. Every time I leave there I feel judged based on my appearance, i.e., given less customer service because I do not look like I will be spending lots of money there. Especially today, they were holding a holiday party featuring stonewall kitchen. I was not greeted upon entering the store, yet one of the employees greeted the older women entering behind me and sure made them feel welcome . Even when I made eye contact and smiled at the woman, I got no hello or may I help you. I had a few other interactions with the woman, only while she was saying excuse me to get to other customers that were older . She sure bent over back words checking on them. Even the stonewall kitchen customer service rep. Did not bother to greet me or offer me a sample , but the people standing next to me were doted over, given numerous samples and explanations reguarding the products she was selling. I like this store because I can find quality kitchen and gift items, being a chef they have a lot of great items to choose from. I ended up buying quite a few things as Christmas gifts. But I get tired of feeling less than other customers while I am in the store. I'm trying to keep it local, but I think from now on I will just buy online. I think this place is a gem in Visalia ! While some have commented on it being pricey- I think that's very relative. 1. You're paying for locally made, good quality, non mass produced items 2. They wrap your gifs for you free! If you ask me, I'd say that's worth my time in the extra expense.
