Check in and out were both effortless. Sadly, this was my first vacation of the year. So, visiting here off season was perfect for us. It was peacefully quiet and relaxing, with plenty of space inside the camper and out to unwind and enjoy this getaway. However, I can well imagine the fun you could have in warmer weather with all the additional amenities they have to offer. Mom and I really want to go back for some kayaking! Special bonus points for being truly dog-friendly and not charging crazy huge additional fees. Also, checking in to the cozy camper with soft Christmas music playing the first night, set the tone for a lovely stay. Thanks so much!

Vacation This past weekend, friends invited us to stay…read moreovernight with them at Oasis Lake Buchanan in their RV. Our first impression of the property was mixed. The lakefront location is beautiful, the water level was high, and there was a nice breeze throughout our stay. However, the property itself appeared somewhat run-down. The playground was covered in cobwebs and looked like it hadn't been maintained recently. We also noticed a significant ant problem around the campsite, and our friends had to remove several active wasp nests after arriving. Unfortunately, the biggest issue wasn't the property--it was our interaction with the manager. Late Saturday evening, my friend, who had rented the RV site, began receiving a series of text messages from the manager, Josh, complaining about the number of vehicles parked at the site and warning of additional charges. After reading the messages myself, I was surprised by how confrontational and aggressive the tone was. The following morning, as we were preparing to launch our jet skis at the boat ramp marked for Oasis guests, Josh ran over yelling that the boat ramp was private property. My friend--the paying guest who had rented the RV site--tried to have a conversation with him, but Josh remained focused on the extra vehicle and repeatedly threatened to call the sheriff over the threatening text conversation that took place the night before. (There is nothing in the Texas Penal Code about "hurt feelings.") Rather than calmly explaining the rules or working toward a solution, the interaction quickly became hostile. The situation escalated further when Josh began using profanity, including multiple F-bombs, within earshot of my children. At that point, any chance of a respectful conversation was gone. (Texas Penal defines this as "Disorderly Conduct - Language. A class c misdemeanor.) Shortly afterward, he walked away, and that was the last interaction we had with the little angry man. What made the confrontation even more confusing was that, during this entire incident, there were no other guests on the property. The aggressive response seemed completely disproportionate to the situation. Our friends were ultimately told they were "banned" from returning. While the lakefront location itself is very nice, our experience with management overshadowed everything else. Customer service matters, and unfortunately this was one of the most unpleasant interactions I've experienced at a campground. We won't be returning.

Krause Springs was such a peaceful, whimsical little escape. The amount of lush greenery and…read moremassive old trees was unreal. Some of the tree roots were the biggest and most unique I've ever seen in my life. The whole place just had such a calm, magical feeling to it. One thing to note is that there are a LOT of stairs in many locations and most are very steep, so it's definitely not stroller-friendly if you are a family with young ones. If you're bringing little ones, just be mindful and watch your step going down the stairs toward the springs. The property itself is absolutely beautiful. You can either camp overnight or purchase a day pass. From what I remember, day passes were $10 per adult, kids under 3 were free, and camping was around $21 a night. They close the springs at 8:00 pm and for campers quiet time is from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am. No loud generators allowed for campers. They had so many little hidden coves and tucked-away areas where you could set up camp, which made it feel really private and peaceful. I was also very impressed with how clean everything was. The bathrooms and showers were pristine, very sanitary, and conveniently located within walking distance of the entrance. One surprise I didn't expect was that they also have a separate swimming pool in addition to the springs, which ended up being great because the water at the springs was a little murky the day we went due to recent rain. Still gorgeous to look at though, especially with the waterfall. It honestly felt surreal, like you forgot you were still in Texas. They also have a beautiful butterfly garden with tons of unique plants and greenery that made the experience interesting. Overall, this place just gave off such a good feeling. Peaceful, relaxing, beautiful, and definitely a must-see if you enjoy nature. We'll absolutely be returning again.

The man-made pool has spring water; this is where I would recommend families with children or inexperienced swimmers go. It's lovely and more of a managed pool setting. We hiked down the stone steps to reach the natural springs which are so beautiful with a picturesque mini waterfall and a rope swing as well! However swimming here can be treacherous. I highly recommend water shoes as there are lots of rocks and moss in the springs. Water depth also varies greatly from one spot to another so it's important to be aware of that. Water temperature was comfortable and cool - felt great on a hot summer day. Wrapped up our visit in the garden, which is so beautifully maintained. Absolutely lovely and zen. The changing room and bathroom facilities are clean and easily accessible. We left feeling dry, happy, and peaceful after a wonderful day in nature.

I emailed the owners of this place and said my doctors have advised me to stay home since I am high risk and they offered only half back. We are 11 days out of travel dates and I get a to bad so sad. Also be advise they do not allow ESA animals even with a doctors letter. Run from this place stay at either Willow Point Big Chief or go on up to Tow it will be worth the drive to go to Tow.

The pool on the deck with amazing views on the lake was where we loved spending our time. The hot tub has the best views! Site 5 is absolutely the best site with direct views of the water but 6/7 (right next to one another so good for groups) and 8 are all lovely sites. Good tree cover and you can take the small trail down to the water for swimming/fishing. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table and lots of flat land for tents. For the hotel/restaurant, we stayed in K1 which has direct views of the water. These are not fancy rooms (no tvs or fancy furniture) but it was so relaxing and beautiful. The restaurant is good with a full bar and beautiful lake views.

We also noticed that the water in the pool was pretty cloudy and in need of being shocked back to clarity. And as I mentioned before, the hot tub is really not that hot. In the morning, just around the corner from the elevators, you can grab a courtesy cup of coffee which is a big plus. We definitely used the mini fridge in the room, but we wish the room came with a microwave as well considering how much you're paying for the room. We did enjoy dinner and breakfast at their in-house restaurant called J's. However, it's hard to get out of there for less than $100 for two with burgers, drinks and tip. Same is true for breakfast buffet for three. All things considered, this resort is less than 2 hours drive from Austin and will be paying them a visit again
