Our stay was ABSOLUTELY perfect! The guys at Templeton's Tavern get 5 stars for the friendliest and best service ever. They made us feel very welcome and right at home with many above-and-beyond moments like bringing us an extra pickleball racket to the court when they noticed another family member show up to play. The food and drinks were great. The games and pool table were super fun. We enjoyed the live weekend music from our patio while we cooked hotdogs and s'mores over the fire. Andrea was stellar with quick communication! Housekeeping gets 5 stars because it was really impressively clean. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and the beds were very comfortable. The grounds are well kept and we enjoyed hiking around and seeing the beautiful wildflowers. I can't say enough good things about this place. It is unique and combines all the beauty of nature with all the comforts of home and lots of attention to detail in decor and service. The container cabins are really very pretty and the spider sculptures are a neat touch. The sunset view is so amazing my tween girl ordered us all to the upstairs balcony to take it in. This is the perfect place to hang out with friends and family. We were sad to leave and will 100% be back. Best Spring Break ever.

This place is absolutely ratchet. There is NO cell service, it took 24 hours for the cabin to cool…read moredown in March! The furnishings are tore up, even though you pay a $75 cleaning fee they require you to strip the beds, wash the dishes, and take all your garbage to the dumpster that isn't close. The WATER! Smells like a mixture of vomit and sewage that you bathe in. The restaurant/bar is a food truck and some bartenders that sat on top of the cooler for the night. Bun on sandwich was so burnt you couldn't eat it and when I left a google review the owner said I was rude so I guess that is all ok with her! Be careful though, they spy on you while you are there. 30 mintues before checkouT the "housekeeper" cased the place and then parked in front of the dumpsters and watched us... so creepy. Don't waste your money. It's HORRID, plus read the review on Google that says the same thing and the owners response. I'm rude because I kindly called out you overcharge for a dump! I am calling the health department on that food truck they call a restaurant and it. Is Luke a old creepy murder movie they way they spy on you in the dilapidated grounds...gross!

Great room and great service for an overnight stay. Scott at the front desk made sure our check-in…read morewas seamless and hospitable in the highest regard. Breakfast has plenty of options and was tasty. Would definitely come back if we happen to wander through again :)

Buckle up, because this was one of the most frustrating hotel experiences our family has ever had…read more My father is an ER nurse who works overnight shifts at a hospital in the area. He lives roughly three hours away, so when he works multiple consecutive shifts, he stays in Lampasas rather than making a six-hour round-trip commute each day. Knowing that his work schedule is very different from a typical guest's, he made arrangements in advance with hotel management before and during check-in. He clearly explained that he would need to remain in the room until approximately 4:00 PM on his final day so he could sleep between overnight shifts. According to him, the staff acknowledged the arrangement and indicated that it would not be a problem. After completing the second of three consecutive overnight shifts, he returned to the hotel exhausted and finally managed to get some much-needed sleep. At approximately 11:15 AM, he was awakened by hotel staff pounding on the door and informing him that he needed to vacate the room immediately because checkout had passed and the room had already been booked for another guest. When he explained that prior arrangements had been made and approved, the employee stated that she had no knowledge of any such agreement. Whether the issue was poor communication, inadequate documentation, or lack of staff training, the result was the same: a guest who had specifically planned ahead to avoid this exact situation was forced out of his room after being assured that accommodations had been made. To make matters worse, the only remedy offered was to waive a late-checkout fee that should never have been assessed in the first place. An apology is appreciated, but it does not undo the fact that an exhausted healthcare worker was deprived of the rest he had arranged and paid for. As a result, my father was left trying to sleep in his car before heading into a third consecutive overnight shift. Anyone who understands the demands of emergency medicine knows how concerning that is. Mistakes happen. What is difficult to overlook is when a hotel agrees to a special accommodation, fails to communicate it internally, and then places the burden of that failure on the guest. Based on this experience, our family will not be staying here again. If you are relying on this property to honor special arrangements, particularly if you work unusual hours, I would strongly recommend getting everything in writing and confirming it repeatedly.

Ok so this is really like 3.5 stars but I hate to round down…read more This Best Western does the absolute best it can with what it has to work with and is a solid value for the price. The pros: - Staff is very attentive, friendly and helpful - Rooms are clean and reasonably spacious - Rooms have been updated recently - Beds are comfortable and sheets are fine - Fair amount of basic cable options - Breakfast is good The cons: - Building is old and I don't personally love the motel system - Pillows are really awful. They are half size and lumpy - No coffee makers in room (why?????) - Clientele is. . .mixed. On the plus side, no obvious drug deals, so better than any place in Amarillo - Water pressure is low and water smells of sulphur, but that's not really the hotel's fault

I parked right in front of my door, and while I had my reservations (it's been a while since I stayed in a motel), the room exceeded expectations. It smelled neutral, the carpet looked new, bathroom was spotless--no dirty grout or stray hairs. Shampoo, conditioner, soap, and a blow dryer were all provided. I was woken by sirens during the night. The front desk explained that, due to the location off Hwy 29, wrecks are pretty common in the area. Breakfast was another pleasant surprise. The area was clean and well-kept, and an employee even got cereal and milk for my child. As guests left, he promptly cleaned and reset tables for the next group. The motel is conveniently located next to a gas station in case you need anything. The pillows weren't my favorite, but they were fine. I did feel the price was a bit high, likely due to camp season and the property's close proximity to nearby camps. All in all, I'd stay again.
