This review is for our experience as first-time home buyers with one of the agent on his team - Brittany Hogan. In summary, we went through an extremely stressful process buying with her that also simulateneously put us in a very vulnerable position. - When making offers, Brittany made very strong pitch and educated us about how appraisal value rarely fell under offer price by drawing on her "rich experience and knowledge". She pushed us to remove all contingencies in order to be "competitive" in the market. It turned out there was a signifcant shortfall between the appraisal value and our purchase price (that was even AFTER sellers reluctantly gave a partial price reduction!) -Due to miscommunications between her and sellers's agent, we almost ended up losing our escrow deposit. At that point, we had absolutely no protections because of her well-intentioned advice to remove all contingencies and was basically on the chopping block. - Barely two months moving in, we already received notice in the mail that there will be a huge house constructed (~4000 SF) literally only A FEW FEET AWAY from us. We raised this concern to Brittany before when sellers disclosed "possible development" in the near future and she simply disregarded this as no big deal as we will not have to "share" our driveway or gate with these new neighbours. We chose to move to this area because we wanted more space and privacy. Now, with this new house to-be constructed right next-door to us, everything good that we initially looked for in this house will be gone. We've had the pleasure of working with Paddy twice now. The first was in 2011 when he helped us buy a beautiful home in Walnut Creek, the second time was in 2019 when he helped us sell that same home when we were moving. Working with Paddy as a buyer we found him very hard-working and patient. We looked at dozens of homes over months (we were picky), and Paddy never pressured us during the process. We were able to take our time and choose a home we really loved. Back in August, 2019, my husband and I hired Paddy Kehoe to handle the sale of our home in Lafayette, California.
