Great food. Great music and great service. Highly recommend. Its not cheap but its fun and filling.

I ordered fish and chips and a coke. I got great Chips over cooked fish, it had been fried dark brown past to the point of being burnt outside and dry inside. The breading was dripping oil. If not for the Chips it was TOTAL Disaster! And all for $30.00 for 2 pieces of badly cooked fish and a plate of nicely done chips and what appeared to be thousand island dressing for Tartar sauce???? We found this pub through an internet search while staying a night in Jefferson City. If you have ever been to Ireland you'll know that the sketchier a pub looks on the outside the better it is inside. This hold true here. Plain brick front, doors with multiple locks on them. But, inside you'll find a warm friendly bar, a basic restaurant area off to the side, very friendly staff and excellent food. You can sit and enjoy a fresh poured Irish beer out of a tap, excellent Irish pub food all while browsing through one of the Irish books on a shelf in the restaurant. Since we only live 90 minutes away from here we will definitely be back now we have found this place. read more

Came in for the first time tonight. It definitely has that old Irish Pub feeling. The Bangers & Mash were excellent. As was the Grilled Cheese and the Chili. Service seemed a little disorganized. We had one take our drink order. Another our food order and still another when we needed something. Same when it came to getting our check. Part of our order (our drinks) were not included. We had to let them know to add them. All in all a nice friendly place, with good drinks and excellent food. Definitely worth going back. read more

Saw some good reviews of this place on Yelp while I was in Jeff City for work. So glad I went. Super cool building and bar. 1864 I think. Parked on street saw they had a busy beer garden out back but only went to the bar. Got bangers and mash. It was awesome. Two big brats, kraut, onion gravy. Like 2 lbs of mashed potatoes and huge portion of mushy peas. All of it was awesome. Got a cup of chili it was very good as well. Paired with a black and tan and noticed they had a great selection of Irish beers. Bartenders were nice and personable. Service was good and quick and would highly reccomend it to anyone. Planned to go back for fish and chips but ended up eating at my hotel which was a mistake. Be back in August so I'll be back again! read more

First time coming in and just didn't know if we needed to be sat down or just sit ourselves down somewhere but ultimately we got to out seats by staff. Had delicious cod fish and chips with malt vinegar. Whenever I'm in Jeff City MO I always try to make a stop here. Great food and service. Last trip had a great craft beer just like I like it, on the dark, sweet side. We sh they sold it by the keg. I hate American beer. Went here to relax and have a cocktail and order some food to go. the lady behind the bar was very attentive and very customer service like. The two gentlemen behind the bar were like walking robots with no personality or no soul. no customer service skills no smile no talk they were just going through the motions like they've been there all their life and they were burnt out very uncomfortable feeling. Used to love this place. Prices are double what they were. Can't pay $20 for a mushroom I can buy for $3 no matter how good it is. The food is good just extremely expensive for the food you get. It's frozen fries and fish. Some is made in house but it's not organic so the pricing is very high for its quality. Atmosphere is nice. read more

The staff is friendly and good food. I also like that they have non alcohol beer which a surprising number of places still do not.

My favorite joint to visit when in Jeff City. Great pub, lovely folks running it, my sister swears by the fish and chips, only eats em here Plenty of fine brews to be had, local, imports and modern faves like my tangerine sour. There's a patio that is lively and full and on the last Saturday of the month the Irish Cultural Center meets here to play brilliant music for free. Families also gather, reminds me of some joints I've been to in Ireland. read more

A neighborhood corner bar, this is a nice place. Parking is plentiful and getting in and back out to highways is easy. The wait list is kept on a chalkboard next to the door. They do get busy enough even during the week to have a wait list. Good, basic strong bar food. The Guiness is live, could have been the fresh tap, but they're busy enough that they probably sell enough to keep it up. I had the fish and chips, which is a good amount of fish and a large amount of fries. Will have to come back and try out the fried mushroom and a burger next time. Overall, a keeper. They're just a bar with bar food, but they're doing everything right. I call it 3 stars, but think of that as a high 3 stars. read more

It was too cold to play disc golf... so what do you do? Go to the pub! I love this place. It makes me feel like I'm back in Ireland. On Saturdays they have musicians playing Irish folk music from 4-7 which was a pleasant surprise. Tried the Yogi Burger... and wow... I almost couldn't get it in my mouth to bite. Not quite as tangy as I expected from the 1000 island dressing but good. The Bangera and Mash were delicious! The building is also the locarion of the first bar in the 1800's and is still a bar. I really enjoyed this place. The place is smaller but they have an outdoor area and a back room when the main bar area gets full. I've tried several items off the menu. The Reuben is probably my favorite but honestly never had anything here that I didn't like. Nice selection of beer/whiskey appropriate for an Irish bar. The staff is friendly without being intrusive. By car, by train, by bike...yes by bike!!!! If you are looking for small, cozy, and a ton of character place; look no further! A great selection of pints, Irish food, and even some nice whiskey pours! The back deck can hold several groups with some relief from the elements (heaters and cover from rain). You can easily navigate (West) from the local Amtrak stop, or take about a 1.5 mile trek off the Katy Trail (Transition from the North Jefferson City Trail Head to the Jefferson City Greenway). Time your stop on your bike after 4pm, or you'll have to sit on a bench (provided) by the bike parking and wait for them to open Favorites are the Portobello Mushrooms, Bangers n' Mash, and the Fish n' Chips. They will also make a mean burger and fries (ask for Guinness cheese). Portions are big, and the staff is excellent. Only reason they didn't get 5-stars is we can't show up sooner and day drink!!!! read more
