Stopped in tonight. They were extremely busy, but we were seated promptly. Our server Theressa M, came over was very professional and friendly. She took our order, then brought us some complimentary rolls and butter. Our dinners took a little longer than expected but Theressa kept us in the loop. She had several large tables but still managed to keep everything under control. Great job!!!! When out dinners came out everything was hot, fresh and tasty. We had the Country Fried Chicken, and the Chicken Fingers Dinners. Both with mashed potatoes and green beans. Everything was great. Give them a try. read more

I only been here for few times, today I came here for lunch around 12ish the host/waitress I can't remember her name but she was wonderful and the only one was doing everything, awesome job. I order a bacon cheese burger with season waffle fries. Let me tell you that was one of the best burger I ever had in a long long time cooked just right justice and just so f--ing good like really good!! The fries was really surprising and also tasty. The place was really clean and spooky theme I thought that was really cool how they had skeletons hanging on top of the bar. I ate here for the first time ever with a group of friends that have been here previously and the waitress we had was amazing and did her job no complaints on her. 8/6/2024 I came in for lunch. I chose the buffet. Featured here is mashed potatoes, brown gravy, corn, green beans, bread rolls, fried chicken, fried fish, mac and cheese, lasagna, and a blue berry cobbler. They also have a salad bar. (I didn't try anything remotely healthy.) For service, I was greeted at the door and told to just sit wherever I wanted. If I had not looked at the menu, I would've been lost and confused about what to do. The dining area is more open concept, which makes it hard to hear someone if you are holding an important conversation or are hard of hearing. Went for lunch after hearing a hot tip. Was not disappointed! Our server was so fun and the atmosphere was chill. Pork tenderloin was delicious along with the buffalo chicken dip. The other day my wife and I went to Sam's for a new set of tires and a bit of shopping. Since we were done right around lunchtime we decided to find a new place to try. Wow, what a gem this was. Although we did have to wait a few minutes for someone to come seat us it was worth the wait. My wife got the French Dip and I got the bacon burger. We were both very happy with our selections. Homemade bread for the buns and great thin sliced roast beef along with a beautiful burger and fresh "fixins" to go on it. The lunch buffet was near the end of service so we chose not to try it, however we will be back later and try it. After so many mediocre meals here at the lake, it was quite refreshing to find really good food for a really good price. I recommend giving it a try if you are looking for some good food. read more

I have awarded Veit's one star because no stars is not not option Stopped in for a lunch and to catch up on some college football action while car shopping. Hostess was distracted. Wait staff, overworked servicing three tables. Seemed unhappy in their job, we were adding to their unhappiness. All could be forgiven if encountered in a spirited sports bar atmosphere and or discovering food well prepared. Sadly once the food was finally served we found the quality of the wait staff was Veit's strong suit. Just say no!! Don't go, no matter the circumstances, just say no. read more

It has a great all you can eat buffet that always delivers. My only complaint is that the dining rooms are extremely noisy and hard to have a conversation in. I would suggest finding a way to install something to absorb the sound. Maybe some acoustic tile or even hanging a few heavy curtains around. read more

I come to visit family in Jeff City twice a year and I'm always looking for good places to eat. Viet's is a keeper! The interior is spacious, yet warm and inviting. Service was outstanding. We ordered the fried ravioli as an appetizer. The accompanying marinara sauce was fabulous and obviously homemade. For our meals, we opted for the fried chicken, tenderloin sandwich, and catfish. My sandwich came with one side and the others came with two. I had perfectly seasoned waffle fries and my companions received a generous side salad and green beans. Everyone was raving about the quality and flavor of the meals. I was especially impressed by my tenderloin sandwich. I order one no matter where I go because they aren't on menus in Cleveland. This one is on the thicker side, but it was very tender and juicy. Hands down, one of the best I've ever had in the area! read more

Stopped in while in town and it was a busy Saturday. Crowd appeared to be locals as this place is kind off a sports bar off the beaten path. We got seated after only a short wait (less than 10 min) but we waited more than 10 minutes for a server. When our waiter did arrive, he told us it was only his second night of working there and wanted our orders, however we didn't have menus. The young man was obviously busy and a little overwhelmed so we took that into consideration and tried to extend a little grace. Once the orders were placed, the food took well over 30 min (possibly longer?) to arrive. The pretzel app was not great, but the chicken and tenderloin were absolutely terrific!! Several more mishaps with our new waiter (might have forgotten to put the order in, not provided and utensils or napkins until we asked, forgotten drink orders, had to ask several times for condiments, wrong salad dressing etc) but again our server was very young and trying vs not caring so I can let that go. Besides, the flavor of the food more than made up for the inexperienced server. Would have been a 4/5 star review, however the final error of the evening were incorrect charges on the check. read more

I went to Veit's with some coworkers and we had a great evening. We sat on the patio, which is nice as it backs to woods. The patio is large and even has an area set up to play bags. Everyone enjoyed their meal and a couple buckets of beer. Food items of note, the chicken tenders are massive and the breading is quite tasty. Food is great and service is fast. Have a family diner experience on one side or a sports bar experience on the other.

First the food, it took forever to get but as usual it was good. Secondly, the service is subpar at most. The waitress was slow on taking the order. She only asked once if we needed anything during our visit. Since the server was so busy elsewhere, my wife asked the dark headed female hostess or greeter for some condiments. She reluctantly went and brought them to the table. I looked right at her and said thank you. She rudely turned and walked away and said nothing. Finally, Sean, I know you have staffing issues, but this is ridiculous. Rude hostess, slow wait staff, and your kitchen takes FOREVER! The only good thing about this visit was the chance to finally get to eat. You better contact Gordon Ramsey and get some help. read more

I first encountered Veit's on a Sunday that catered their all you can eat fried chicken/catfish. I was excited, and my expectations were high when I first walked through the doors. Veit's is a casual spot that looks and feels updated and clean. When it came to the chicken, I will admit it as good, but nothing I would likely order again. Then again, I'm not the type of person that drools on the menu as soon as they see chicken by way of the deep fryer. The best thing about Veit's is the patio. It is really big and there are plenty of tables to suit any size of party. Veit's also has outdoor games like cornhole, and Connect Four. I've never had a negative experience at this restaurant, just can't give it a five star, because the food doesn't blow me away. If I could recommend any item though, it would be the fried mushrooms. They are too good to pass up. read more

I have heard the buffet is awesome but don't usually do buffets. What I did have a great meal and enjoyed the experience. We have been quite a few times! Food has always been very tasty!! Buffet every day is super good! And, hot!!!! Great chicken pot pie, lasagna, super moist fried chicken, and fried catfish pieces. We were in Jeff City and after a long day, we decided to give this place a try based on how much it's previous location was enjoyed. The place was not crowded when we arrived but for some reason it took 3 requests before we got a glass of water. It was interesting though that our alcoholic drinks were quick to arrive.... The clam chowder (which they pride themselves on) came out cold, but Nichole did bring it out hot after we asked her - pretty sure they just microwaved it because my brother's half eaten bowl came out exactly as it went in, just hot. The fried chicken and tenderloin sandwich came out at room temperature; however, my loaded chicken entree did come out hot and was good. We weren't thoroughly impressed with our evening, but it had more to do with how the food was presented (not hot) rather than the actual flavors of the dishes. read more

The fried pickles were decent. Do not order something with buffalo sauce! Literally the worst buffalo I've ever had, and I love buffalo. Pretty sure the only ingredients are vinegar, muddy swamp water, and cheap hot sauce. The service was good though. read more

The food was EXCELLENT, but the service was SO bad that I can't give it more than 3 stars. One waitress just stood and talked to a table for over 20 minutes, another one had to bring the food to the table she was talking too (her table!!!). Our table took 10 minutes to get an appetizer, the the waitress had to be 'told" to take our order for dinner, she forgot it. If they can get the service fixed, it will be great. read more

I have been to this place twice and both times have left unhappy. Both times it was because of the exact same thing. I've eaten there twice. Both times I left dissatisfied. The food is mediocre at best, we waited forever, etc. The first time we went they had a guy playing accoustic music outside and we enjoyed that but the second time they had someone else that was terrible. the steak dinner salad, had very few iceberg leaves under steak! i thought it was a mistake! The ham dinner was on a hot dog roll, and waitress promised homemade bread. I am a big salad maker, and use many types of lettuce, seeds, nuts, olives, avocado, feta, etc, or i would not call it a salad!
