Large selection of various scents and vessels to choose from. They give you ideas for how to use your vessel after the candle is gone, but also they will refill your candle with wax as well for a discounted cost. They have such a cute little store area for extra take homes. They have a bar with drinks and snacks for you to enjoy as you make your candle. Note you do have to come back later for pick up. You learn about all the vessels for the candles, the wax, and the proper way to pour and burn candles. The team of Kat, Chris, and Linda were awesome - they guided us through the whole process & Chris was great to pick up from the next day. Free parking in the lot. My DIL brought me to Paddywax as a birthday gift. There was a bit of trepidation when doing these artistic group experiences (I am awful at the art sip and stroke things). But this was a delightful experience! We had a lovely and very helpful instructor to guide us. You begin by choosing your fragrance from a long row of options. I opted for sea salt + sage because sage is cleansing. Then you choose your vessel and there are amazing choices. I opted for one that can later be used as a tea cup and had a logic flower (lotus is an important spiritual symbol as well). It was fun measuring the fragrance and the extremely hot wax. The candle takes about three hours to set so you can pick up later (they will hold for 30 days). I loved my candle making experience - it will not be my last! read more

The experience at the candle bar was fun! Everyone was very kind and it was a cute space. However, my custom candle turned out terrible not due to my error - but due to the error of the instructor. I was only given 1 wick to use in a candle that needed 2. So my candle has terrible tunneling of the wax and so much wax is wasted and unable to melt. Very disappointing since its so expensive to go make a candle and it turn out so bad because the employee didn't have the candlemaking knowledge necessary to help me create a usable candle. read more

I visited the East Nashville location on my birthday (visiting from Denver) and the place was beautiful, clean, wonderful smelling, beautifully decorated and attended by two sweet lil ladies. We did the happy hour session which is super affordable. Even without the discount, 35$ for any candle/container in the store is amazing! Plus, you get to hand pour and scent it so in a lot of ways, you're paying for the experience. Long story short, I loved everything about it and if you're not local and pick your candle up, they'll ship it for just 8$. Unfortunately, my original candle came in the mail broken so I called the store and literally, same day, they poured and shipped a new one. I had a great experience at Paddywax Candle Bar while in Nashville for a bachelorette party. They had many choices for scents and "vessels". I chose a vessel that you can strike a match on the side which is somewhat unique. I had a hard time choosing a scent because I'm picky about candle scents, but they had tons of options, including seasonal and classic smells. Mine has a wood wick which is nice too. The candle-making process was simple and easy to follow. It was fun doing this with friends. We brought our own wine bottles. They have a cute little shop and a nice backdrop for photos too. The workshop was such a fun experience! We want to make this an at least annual thing. It was very difficult to choose a scent because nearly all of them smelled great. They also have plenty of nice vessels to choose from. The employees that were leading the workshop were all friendly, professional, and patient. The teacher led the class in a way that was easy to follow. Tip: get there early and pick out a scent before the workshop starts, because you won't have time to smell them all during the workshop. COVID days tip: don't plan to use the mask you wear to the workshop afterward. It'll smell like 100 different scents from when you sample all the scents. I surely did! How does the candle making process work? Go to the website & select the Nashville location you want. (According to the webpage, only the one across town accepts walk-ins.) Select your class day & time, & pay online w/ a credit or debit card. The cost is $40 plus tax. Our bill for two was $92.20 (w/ tax). There are no additional hidden fees. No sales push. Nothing. Even though you shall have zero parking concerns, arrive a little early to to scope the shelves in search of the fragrance you desire-- you will NOT be creating an individual fragrance. There are 42 to select from in the following categories: Fresh; Spice; Sweet; & Woody. I selected "Fresh" Thyme & Olive Leaf while my daughter decided upon "Fresh" Meyer Lemon. (Check out the pic of the 42-fragrance menu.) Next, you'll select the "vessel" you want to use for your one, two, or three wick candle. Once class begins, you'll be walked thru the steps by someone like our sweet Sarah who taught our class well. Was recommended a candle class by a friend, so we booked a class as an early afternoon event on our bachelorette party weekend. All the girls ended up loving the class as we all had so much fun picking out our vessels, scents, and creating our candles and getting to take it home! After hearing about The Candle Bar from various friends and viewing pics on their IG stories, I purchased 2 seats for my boyfriend and I. The Candle Bar is housed in an industrial style building that's so beautiful it could be used as a venue for a wedding...if only! Their shop is super cute with one section for the pouring class and the other with their pre-made candles and various gifts. It's BYOB but they do have a small bar option. We enjoyed the class...being able to pick out our own vessels and scents (notice: the many scents you get to choose from are already a combo of 2 different notes...you don't get to mix & match with various notes to create your own version). Our candles smell great at home, filling up the entire room. The only reason for 4 stars is because it's a little pricey ($35/person...therefore 1 candle), especially since our class didn't start until roughly 7 minutes after the hour and finished a few minutes before the next hour. The Candle Bar is a fun place to make a candle. A friend and I went and there were several other groups of girls there to make candles. You can bring your own wine to drink while creating! I like this place but gave it only 3 stars bc your paying $38 to pour their PRE-MIXED potion, yes you heard that right PRE-MIXED into candle wax and then into a vessel of your choice. I don't think I would ever take the class again. I think it would def be worth the money if they let you mix your own scents. An hour long class that literally takes 5 mins. Haha. Fun, creative activity to do as a group if you like unique fragrances. There were about 10 in our group and we enjoyed it. The class is completely turnkey - The work space is set up like a dinner table where each station has an apron, beaker, scale and everything else needed to create a candle. You simply smell everything and pick your scent, choose a container from the selection provided and it's time to create! If you prefer to stay with basic scents like cinnamon or lavender, this probably isn't the class for you. I think the simplest scent they had when we went was smoked cedar wood and amber. I think our "instructor" was very soft-spoken and not the best choice for an excited group but I would go again if I had someone in town and wanted something different to do. read more

This is a fun little adventure if you are shopped or Broadway-ed out and want to go low key for a bit. The Candle Bar Berry Hill location is also the HQ for Paddywax, and you can see the corporate setup behind the retail/classroom space. Class lasts about an hour and it's BYOB. You choose one of their gorgeous containers ("vessels" in Candle Bar parlance) and the scent you want, then they guide you through the super simple candle pouring process. Any vessel/scent/size combo is included in the $35 class fee. Pro tip: get there a little early to scope the scents because the popular ones get pulled quickly and you might end up with a second or third choice. You don't get to take your candle with you because it still has to be cooled/baked/cured/whatever, but you can get it a few hours later, another day, or have it shipped to your house for an extra $8.
