This store is at the very end of 12South. It is one of the best souvenir stores in the street. They have all kinds products like magnets, stickers, cups, mugs, toys, postcards, soap bars, toys, games and of course apparels for everyone. The store is small, aisles are cramped. Have to watch when walking, easy to stumble on other people or stuff in the shelves. Prices of the good are slightly higher since its prime tourist area. We got a dino mask for $8 and a t-shirt for $30. The staff members are super nice. They engaged in a fun chit chat with our daughter, while checking us out quickly at the register. Date of visit: August 12, 2023 We were in the area to visit the salon and had some time to kill before check in and came across this cute little shop. You'll notice as soon as you enter that it is absolutely jammed with stuff. When we came in, the store didn't seem busy but before I knew it, the joint was overflowing with people and you were just as likely to bump into someone as you were to find some merchandise that you might want to try. My friend and mom had some things they wanted to get and joined the line; I hightailed it out of there to save some space for the people that actually needed to be in the store. I will say, however, that I enjoyed the wide variety of things in the store and definitely would have stayed longer if I didn't start having feelings of claustrophobia! The customer service here is phenomenal. I had the joy of meeting two very wonderful ladies who were definitely looking out in my best interest at a moment's notice and in a short time frame. I had forgotten a garment needed to for that evening and stopped by here to get one as a replacement. They pulled a ton of stuff for me and I arrived able to walk straight into a dressing room and try on what they had gotten me. I called beforehand in a crying plea to get in and out as soon as possible due to an important meeting for an upcoming conference next month. I really like their clothing selection and accessories. Oh the accessories. I would say their boutique prices were very reasonable for the area and they have some plus sizes that you might not otherwise find at other boutiques. They offer something for everyone. They go up to 3X in some items. The offer books and some different types of gifts that would be good for birthdays or bachelorette parties. This little shop is a favorite of my Nashville friends so we went a perused on my recent trip. The store is really well laid out and the sales people were friendly and helpful without being pushy. The local jewelry selection was great and we were informed that one of the designers also works part time at the shop. Really cute clothes, accessories and some housewares. This is a great store. I had considered stopping here, and when I stumbled upon it while driving around Nashville I figured it was a sign. The store is clean and well stocked, and it's a great place to stop for a gift or if you feel like treating yourself to something new. They have clothes (though not my larger size), cards, hats, scarves, jewelry, and more. For some reason, I can't seem to find the kind of jewelry I like in Chicago, so I was here specifically hoping to find some new earrings. I found exactly what I was looking for. They had a great selection of earrings, and I narrowed it down to four pair to purchase. I got a couple pair with peridot; a pair that are garnet; and a pair with amethyst. I also saw some turquoise, moonstone, star ruby, carnelian, citrine, I think, and a few other stones. They also had a good number of rings. I didn't find anything that I had to have, but they have an interesting selection. I wish that they posted their jewelry on the website or Facebook page. I think what's shown there is just a glimpse of the kind of jewelry they sell, not actual pieces that are in the shop now. I am sure that it would be too difficult for them to do so, but I would definitely buy more and I don't know when my next time to Nashville will be (this was the first time I'd visited). Parking wasn't a problem for me, though I was there on July 5 so maybe people were out of town. There seemed to be some parking along the street the store faces, but I simply parked along the street that runs along the right hand side of the store. This place is pretty neat. Lots of trinkets, clothes, jewelry, etc. Mainly geared toward women, but we found some interesting and fun knick-knack type stuff that was unique. We ended up purchasing a book as a house-warming gift that will prove to be quite hilarious to our friends. They also have a few men's items such as beard oils and after shave that smell very good. My wife agreed. All items seemed to be locally sourced and have that good Southern charm. Prices were decent, not outrageous, but not chintzy either. This is the cutest shop. I visited with my friend on a girls weekend over a year ago and we had tons of fun deciding which locally made jewelry to buy as souvenirs of our trip. Then again this weekend I stopped in with my husband- he loved the Bob Ross and Mr Rogers mugs, while I smelled all the bath products, admired the 12 South canvas totes and ended up getting a cool and large Nashville mug. This is a super cute store with a lot of really unique items in it, which I really liked. The only thing I would say is that the service isn't quite the best. At least not from what I received. They were a smidge busy, but didn't seem to have the staff to cover anything except the register. So, we weren't greeted ever or asked if we were looking for anything (we were looking for gifts for friends and could have used a little direction) Other than that I liked the store a lot and was happy with what we got there which was an oven mitt, a set of notebooks, and a deck of cards. Serendipity is probably the only little boutique store I can afford and they carry my size which is less than a size 5. I have gotten some beautiful summer dresses from here. Don't go here looking for business clothes and this this stuff is definitely not mall attire. However, it's a great mix of styles and includes everything from blouses and pants to sun dresses. I think it can appeal to quite a few different looks depending on how you use the pieces so don't pigeon hole them as grunge or hippie. When I get sick of feeling like i am seeing my clothes everywhere, I come here to get a few pieces that are a little more original. She also has great sales. If I had one hang up and it's a small one is that they owner is not all that attentive of friendly at least to me. Serendipity is a women's clothing shop in the funky little district of 12th Ave South. The shop is in a good location next to a bunch of other women's boutiques. Serendipity is an eclectic mix of new and vintage items. They had a lot of different price points too. I saw some cool aviator style glasses that were only $12. Pretty sweet. Serendipity also had a huge sale section that included lots of denim and dresses. The shop is a one level boutique with non descript decor. The store is packed full and I did see a lot of polyester at this place. Probably because of the vintage items. The shop reminded me of Pangea in their vibe. They had some sterling silver jewelry in two large cases. A lot of this stuff would be great with a bohemian style look. If you are already parked near 12th south this is a fun shop to stop in while you browse the neighborhood. read more

I do like this store but I have absolutely nothing to say about the front of the store. I went straight to the back for the SALE items :) I knew I couldn't buy anything unless it was discounted so I didn't waste time wanted things I can't afford. The customer service here is so so. I was in the store ten minutes while the clerk chatted on a personal phone call. After a bit she let her friend on the phone know that there were customers in the store and she would call her later. Their merchandise walks a fine line between unusual and hippie. I'm curious who their regular customers are, because the clothes here are pretty expensive unless they're on sale, but I haven't seen many rich hippies around Nashville. Hit or miss, but worth a visit. The price range is huge, and you can find anywhere from deals to pretty expensive stuff. I guess that's what comes with independent stores that carry a variation of brands. They carry cute jewelry, and I found a great dress and scarf there for great prices. If I had the money, I would completely restock my wardrobe with purchases from Serendipity. They have some of the most beautiful sweaters I've ever seen, and I really do think grunge is trying it's darndest to make a come back, as I found a striped v-neck with huge buttons that screamed, "I need combat boots with this ensemble, please." They had the most amazing owl scarves and gloves I've ever seen. I obviously have a very unhealthy obsession with these birds right now, and the boutiques are not helping. They have some of the most unique gift ideas in here; I'm not sure how many different journals I found, but I really wish my friends actually wrote in them so I would have a reason to buy them. It is sad to know that some people had a terrible experience with the customer service at Serendipity. I had the most wonderful experience shopping for gifts for my boyfriend's mother and April, the sales clerk, helped me with everything! As soon as I walked through the door, I was greeted and April walked me around the store introducing me to all the designers, showing me pieces that were fabulous and well within my spending limits. I got these awesome leather cowboy boots, hand made scarves, gloves, and a sweet chic hat all for under $120 and that's even after Tennessee's ridiculous sales tax. I agree, the sale rack in Serendipity is great but seriously the items in the store are really one of a kind and it is definitely worth a visit!
