There's a reason why you "wait to be seated", so they should be taking full advantage of that. The drinks are okay, the Bloody Mary isn't the best and the mimosa (or Buck's Fizz) is what you'd expect with pulpy orange juice (freshly squeezed). I should also point out I work at a high volume restaurant as well. I was trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt. Short staffed or maybe busier than they're used to, but it still didn't make sense that a party of only 4 had to wait more than 20 minutes to put an order in -- let alone speak to an employee. I mean seriously. Three separate couples walked in and were seated almost 15 minutes after we had been seated and were served minutes before anyone had bothered to get to us. The only part of this experience that made it somewhat worth it was the young busser -- Liam. He was so kind and tried to get us service as quickly as possible when we finally said something. The other two servers there weee quite rude and clearly not able to handle the capacity of the restaurant. I would not recommend coming here if you want a quick and smooth brunch, as this place just doesn't provide that for you.

Each choice comes with a pile of buttered bread and as many refills of builders tea as you fancy. Its open week days 7am ish until around 4, then weekends 7:30am until 2:30 pm. Whilst this did mean our service was somewhat 'attentive', they did a good job of not making us feel rushed or hassled. The food is 'light', consisting of mainly smoked salmon, seafood platters and oysters...but fear not, they do do skinny chips... but as these take a little time i would recommend getting your order in for them as soon as you sit down before you peruse the menu, so they are ready with the rest of your meal. You WILL want the fries, as they are really yummy and crispy... and otherwise you would leave hungry! The wine list is well balanced, and perfectly suited to the food they offer... the bottle (or two, if i am honest) of muscadet we drank was delicious, light and with just a touch of sparkle, and very reasonable at £21. Its not a cheap place (but you wouldn't expect that of a seafood and oyster restaurant), but the service is friendly, personal and helpful, the food is fresh and the setting is lovely. The menu is broad without being complicated, messy, or overwhelming. Everything is really well organised and they've done a great job of advertising their range of products. Bubble tea is their staple seller but they also offer frozen yogurt with a choice of chocolatey/sweety and fruity toppings, and tear and share waffles. Savoury stuff is available too! You'll find Ramen noodles and Gyoza dumplings on he menu if the sweet stuff isn't quite doing it for you. This time, I opted for a pear green tea with mixed blueberry and cherry bubbles. Never tried the pear before and it was lovely. Slightly sweeter and a little more artificial tasting than I'm used to, though. Like I said, I really enjoy how they've used the space. The unit is really long, kind of white washed throughout including the wooden floorboards which gives it a mega bright and spacious feel and there's ample and varied seating before and after the serving counter. I feel like they've made the space really interactive which is great! Even though I was kinda in a rush, Yobu makes you take the time to appreciate it. There's a little wall of fame/fandom dedicated to its customers, a book case, some cute trinkets dotted around, and leaflets about the local area. I'd love to go back if I'm around B'mouth again!
