There are beautiful views of the ocean and central valley, including Molokai and the west Maui Mountains. Step out on the covered lanai to get some fresh air and enjoy the views. The vast central space has an open beam ceiling making for great acoustics. This is a real highlight of the community in Pukalani.

THE FACILITIES: The main hall is 8,000 sf and fully air conditioned. It's a wide open room with high open-beam ceilings, LED lighting, fans, a good sized stage, full kitchen, conference room, dressing room, and an open-air patio. Max capacity is 464. Restrooms were clean. The only downfall is the parking lot which is small, but they have overflow parking across the street at Maui Waena Intermediate School. Though the sign states "Filipino Community Center" it's open to all, lol. I've been here only a handful of times and like it because its close to home and newer than neighboring Kahului Community Center. FACT: This is the new home of the Barrio Fiesta that happens every May, moving from the War Memorial field after many years.

The building is made with hollow tile which is a natural insulator, resulting in a cool interior despite the hot conditions outside, and ceiling fans aid in the cooling process. The open beam ceilings provide for an airy feeling. The space can be divided into 3 separate rooms or 1 big one which holds about 400-450 people max. There are lots of big windows that allow natural light to pour in. The fixed stage is equipped with a garage door backdrop that leads to the back of the facility and allows for easy set up for bands & entertainment. The only downfall is the tiny parking lot. There's an adjacent parking lot next door for park users but more than likely a sporting event will be happening so parking is normally super tight.

A small storage room with brooms, mops and dustpans for you to use. Bathrooms are a bit run down, but at least it's not smelly or disgusting. The lighting isn't the brightest, but at least you can see what you're eating. It's a fair place to have a small function/gathering. Convenient in downtown Kahului and lots of parking. I'd use it for convenience. But not for an occasion like a wedding or fancy get get together.

I did hear from the party host that she had to bring in some rented tables and chairs at her expense as the ones they provide weren't in the best shape. This is the community center for the west side. The building is not climate-controlled. I've been to parties only at night when its cooler, so I'm not sure how it is during the day in the severe Lahaina sun. The kitchen area seems adequate in size. The main hall is pretty spacious and fits between 200-300 people. There's an outdoor kitchen that most parties use as a bar. The bathrooms are close by and are clean. Parking is adequate on either side of the hall.

I've never wanted to go to the doctor, but she makes my visits something I can look forward to. Understanding what's going on with my body is important. I also see Gabrielle O'Sullivan and she is absolutely wonderful. You can tell these two doctors genuinely care and are always there to answer questions.. Thank you so much for everything.

The providers there are incredibly caring, warm and I never felt rushed at my appointments. I highly recommend Dr Casey and Heather Milovina - they are both incredible, so competent and skilled and kind. Out of the 6 providers, I felt totally comfortable with 5 out of 6 of them - which is pretty great! I gave birth a few weeks ago and had a very positive experience thanks to the wonderful people at Malama. Dr Casey was my doctor who delivered my baby, and I felt 100% confident and comfortable with him, knowing I was in great hands. Heather was there the next day, which was great, because I was seeing her the most during my prenatal visits (she is an incredible midwife), and she has a wonderful presence about her - she cares so much about her patients, and you feel completely comfortable in her care. I would highly recommend Malama if you are pregnant, I think they are the best on the island as far as prenatal care and caring about women's birth experiences.
