When the next opportunity arrived,I went ahead and booked her. It was a rare moment of being thankful for spam emails. (After not hiring her, i would get emails of mini sessions.) What I've learned after 4 babies, is that a good photographer is worth the price. Moments float by quickly and the next best thing to a time machine is a great photo. In the end, Naz is not expensive. She is upfront with her prices. Other photographers can either be subpar or will up sell you once their session is over. I will tell you that I hate pictures and am very critical in the way I look in them. I was surprised at how great i looked. My oldest has the most unnatural smile, kid #3 thinks he's funny and will do the opposite of what you ask and the baby hates strangers. I thought it was going to be the worse day ever. But on a chilly december day, naz had the best idea to meet at the national gallery of art.easy access to bathrooms and we ate lunch in the cafeteria. She was so great and provided a smooth experience. Driving home my husband obviously forgot who naz was and asked if she was someone I knew from before. She worked with me to narrow down our location and vision (I was scattered and had a lot of conflicting ideas) -- all with patience, calm and a steadiness that made me feel super confident with our final plan. Did I mention, I kept changing my mind on everything...?! Naz is super creative, personable and has a magnetic presence that makes you feel completely at ease. Even my super wiggly, active and spazzy 2-year old (who, at the time, was a late walker and just getting a handle on moving around on his own) sat still for and gravitated toward the camera. She helped us figure out what we were looking for in pictures and scouted a great location for fall pictures. When it came to the shoot, she was extremely flexible in setting a rain date (which we ended up needing!). On the day of the shoot, Denise encouraged us to act as we normally do and captured so many great photos. She helped us to feel comfortable in front of the camera and found lots of sweet moments with our 7 month old son. After the session, we were able to see some sneak peaks within a couple of days, and received the full photo gallery within a week. She really knows -- even more than I did at the start -- how important professional photos are for preserving the essence of a special day. So with just two weeks to go until our micro wedding, my husband and I hired her. Our first meeting to get to know each other and go over the order of the wedding day was incredibly important to feel comfortable with each other and to get to know what kinds of photos we'd want. The wedding day started at my family home in Maryland (party of 9) and then we drove into Washington, DC for an outdoor virtual wedding with the courthouse officiating. It of course rained almost all day, but Nicole was prepared for all eventualities and knew what to do to make sure we got the best photos. She is full of great ideas! In the end, we were actually grateful it rained because it offered us the best lighting and the least interruptions from passing tourists. This has been the most difficult business that I have had to deal with during such a difficult time (postpartum and medical conditions). It has been blatantly obvious that she has no good faith effort in doing business with us and to the point its just unethical and unprofessional. I have tried really hard to work with Krystal Culpepper and gone above and beyond because $400 is a lot of money for us and it's just not fair. She is either too busy or doesn't care because she have already been paid 65% of total amount. Krystal has shown zero professionalism, been unreliable and has shown a lack of good faith effort in your business practices. Krystal purposely taking advantage of situation and acting maliciously since she got mostly paid already. Krytal emailed me that we have breached contract for not paying 3 days in advance of session date is ridiculous business sense. She wanted us to blindly pay her when we received zero communications. 1. I booked our May 10 session on March 19th 2024 and heard NOTHING proactive from her since then. No follow up on needs, preferences, types of pictures we wanted, locations, where to meet, confirm time, nothing. Only the automatic payment reminders that have always had the wrong due dates since starting to do business with you in July 2023. a. I had to follow up with Krystal on May 1st to confirm time since I never got final confirmation with accurate time. b. I again, followed up with Krystal on May 9 to confirm, location we should meet, what to bring, etc. No response. c. In all these exchanges, Krystal Culpepper didn't even bother as a business courtesy, to remind payment was due AND be professional and finalize details. Krsytal Culpepper purposely waited until noon the day of our session day to cancel on us. I can go one, before this session, I had inquired about rescheduling session and after telling her that never mind, I will keep my original session because I sensed how difficult it was going to be... Krystal said she would accommodate to my time but ended up limiting 4 out of 7 days and blocking her calendar after I had pulled available dates from her calendar. Mind you, this was a family session that we had to settle because she wouldn't refund us our newborn session deposit. Or, how Krystal texted me the morning of our schedule newborn session date to cancel due to her medical reasons and were later told her return date was unknown but our newborn reservation fee of 50% was non-refundable. We had to mourn the fact that we were not going to be newborn pictures with our last baby as we could not afford to schedule another session despite the fact that SHE cancelled on us and were UNABLE to provide services. Instead, she "offered" us to reschedule our newborn session, how do you reschedule a newborn session when your baby is already three months old? Even though the contract said "newborn session reservation fee." She said she offering to transfer to another type of session ??!?!?! After she breached the contract. She refuses to refund us our "newborn session reservation fee," that she was unable to provide services and zero services have been provided--my baby is now 7.5 months old.
