Sharon Wiley did a wonderful consultation before the massage to determine my needs and areas of focus. We opted for the deep tissue pain relief massage which, if you've ever had targeted work, is at times uncomfortable. She did a wonderful job of checking that the pressure was okay. Sharon is a great masseuse. I have had many massages and I usually use a coupon or deal. I used one for Pain Away Therapies but now I am a customer and will continue to go to Sharon even without a deal. That is saying something for me. Her office is small and nothing spectacular, but it is clean and cozy and I felt comfortable there. She used just the right amount of pressure and really got into my knots. She started with some stretching which really helped and afterward, I felt so relaxed. Sometime I am sore after a massage and I was not with Sharon, even though I really feel like she worked on my knots and released my muscle tension. I can't wait for my next massage. read more

I've been getting massages from Sharon for about a year now. Her business is in the second floor of an old house in La Mesa above a law firm - it's a casual atmosphere and within walking distance to the downtown shops & restaurants. Sharon has a great energy - I always leave feeling better & more relaxed. And I sleep well after I'm there. My husband also gives her a good review. When I recently took my mom there, she said it was the best massage she's ever had (better than fancy spa massages). Excellent massage. One of the best in San Diego that I have had. Would give 5 stars but doesn't have the spa experience that pushes this over the edge. Bought an "Amazon Local" 75 min massage deal for Pain Away therapies and from day one scheduling was an issue. She said she was booked for an entire month ahead of time and put me on some imaginary "waiting list" and of course I never heard back. Fast forward FOUR months and I call to make an appointment because this voucher is set to expire in two weeks and their voice-mail system even says something to the effect of "if you're calling to use a voucher, I am not taking clients till after August 1st (which is after the voucher expires, though she did say they would accept it for it's face value towards the full price) blah blah blah" and that you'd need to book a massage with someone named Jodey until August 1st. The whole thing seemed shady, I just called Amazon Local and got a refund, totally not worth it in my opinion. Hopefully all of the other good reviews below this are factual. just my experience and thought I'd share. If you are having any kind of pain in your body, please call Sharon Willey at Pain Away Therapies. She is amazing! I have had a back problem that had become increasingly worse over the past six weeks. It became so acute that I had to take time off of work. I tried all kinds of healing modalities including acupuncture and chiropractic, which all offered some relief. But Sharon was able to release the huge knot in my back in less than 30 minutes and gave me a lovely massage on the rest of my body for the remainder or our visit.
