But because of insurance policy changes, I was unfortunately referred to Dr. B Krost . Never before have I've ever come across such a rude office team like this one. Dr. Stuart B. Krost and his Pa's were dismissive of my pain,. They rushed me through my appointments and made me feel more like a number than a patient. Don't waste your time.. I'm 54 and in good shape, but a few years ago I had back pain due to stenosis that radiated into my legs (sciatica). I tried to ignore it, but it bothered me so much that I had to take sit breaks when walking (eagerly eyeing and fighting 75 year olds for a spot on a bench) and couldn't stand in one spot more than five minutes. The pain impacted my life to such a degree that I avoided activities and just wanted to sit or lie down. Dr. Chacin fixed my issue with injections and I not only avoided surgery but I was able to resume all activities I couldn't do previously and felt human again! His bed manner is exceptionally. I have raved about him to my mom and others. I love that certain things are readily accessible within his office and doesn't require prescriptions or orders to outside labs. At the time it was close to my house the doctor picked me up where the other doctor had me at. The staff is very friendly and they were quick to help me get prior authorization for one of my meds. They don't accept any insurance, so you don't have to deal with the insurance company. None of the other doctors that took insurance wanted to keep the medication I'd been given before. They wanted to do procedures to run up the cost of treatment I've been going to Affordable Pain Management for over a year and I'm totally pleased with their service.

We had a serious issue with pill mills in the past, and I would like to think those days are over…read more After one visit to this place, I'm not so sure. To begin with, I arrived early for my visit so I could fill out their ridiculous amount of paperwork. On it were the obligatory questions about the pain I was in, but no one seemed concerned with what I put down, as they kept referring to other things that were not bothering me. Also, when I made the appointment, I specifically asked for Dr. Amin, but I never saw him. I filled out the paperwork and sat in the annoying waiting room where the television is entirely too loud and on a continuous loop of ads. Nothing else. I wished there was a remote out there so I could turn it off, but that would show true concern for the patients and you won't find that here. I finally was brought in to the madness of the back, and Michael, the nurse (I'm not sure if he's actually a nurse but I don't think he's a physician's assistant and I know he's not a doctor) could not have been nicer. If this review was about him, it would be five stars. He was the only one I met who actually listened to me. Next came the PA. This could either stand for Physician's Assistant or Pain in the Ass, you can decide for yourself. She was a nightmare. She apologized for the amount of time I had to wait, but she had to go outside because her car was hit. Which is saying to the patient that her car is more important. That gives you an idea of the caliber of the practice. Finally the doctor came in. He stood across the room and recited to me what his PA had written down, incorrectly, which completely threw him off because he had already decided on the the diagnosis and course of treatment (all with drugs) before he walked in the room. He never examined me, he stood with his back against the door and never entered any further into the room. I now know how lepers must feel. He prescribed several medications for me, which is why I started feeling like I was in a pill mill. Then he told me he would call in another prescription, and that pharmacy would call me to make arrangements. I was also to have an MRI. Finally, something that made sense. His office would arrange that and the MRI office would call me to schedule. I also had to give them a urine sample, but for the life of me, I don't know why. I gave it to them. I have yet to hear anything more about it. I was shown to the front desk where the receptionist immediately tried to book my next appointment. I informed her that I couldn't very well do that since I hadn't had the MRI yet, which completely threw her off. I patiently explained to her (maybe not so patiently) that I had to have an MRI and that her office was going to call the MRI place and let them know what the were scanning, and once that was done, then I would call and make the next appointment. I'm guessing she gets paid on how many appointments she makes because she was not happy. Several weeks later I received a letter in the mail from some company that claimed they had been trying to call me (even though I never got a phone call from them) to finalize the medication. I checked and it's a medication that is NOT covered by my insurance, and I can only guess that Dr. Macek gets a kickback from the drug company, because I cannot come up with another reason why he would prescribe this for me, particularly since he still had not examined me. Oh, and the MRI? Well, it's been over a month and I still have not heard from anyone about that. As I said, this made me think I was in a pill mill and nothing has happened since change my opinion. In reading the reviews on here, it seems that most patients are very happy with Dr. Amin. I cannot understand why I was not put on his schedule when I specifically asked for him, but I was not. Sadly, I'm not willing to give this place another chance.

His staff have found a way to get me in last minute when their appointments have been scheduled full for the day but my pain was unbearable. He and his staff have taken the time to sit and really listen to my needs and even took me in for outpatient treatment the very next day after my very first visit. Regular injections from other doctors were extremely painful for me but Dr Aaron made sure that I did not have to go through that pain again and he didn't want me to have to wait in pain for two weeks like other doctors have done. I am very happy with his treatment. You can tell that he is a doctor that really cares about his patients. I am so happy I found him and would refer him to anyone who needs a pain doctor.

I left after a few visits because I saw the therapists being rude and indifferent with older patients. Because I am the kind of person who likes to see goodness in the world, I won't give my business to people who are nasty, or rude, or ageist. When you first walk in to ATC, you will know that is is different from other places. The front desk people are friendly and helpful, and they know you by name. I have seen them chat with people waiting for rides, and help people in wheelchairs in and out of the doors. They always have a smile and accommodate your scheduling needs without frustration. In the therapy area, which is big, and well-lit, and pleasant and modern, they have happy, upbeat music playing, you will see all sorts of rehab going on, from sports to geriatric, to pre-and post-joint replacement. Their patients are of a wide range of age and capability. It is wonderful to see the therapists treat all of their patients as if they, and their physical issues, are very important. They are especially kind to older patients, which warmed my heart to see. Wendy, the owner, is that special kind of person who is warm, genuinely caring, always remembers your name, even if you aren't her direct patient. She has the right balance between friendliness and chattiness and brilliant professionalism. She makes people want to go there. I believe that, to her, her patients are not just a paycheck....she REALLY cares. Alex, who was my primary therapist, is a genius. He got to the bottom of my shoulder injury, even better than my surgeon did, and the rehab he designed for me has helped regain flexibility that I haven't had in a number of years. He has a clinical doctorate, which in my understanding, is the physical therapy equivalent of an MD, so he is not just some guy putting you through a generic list of exercises. He knew how hard to push me, and when I hit a little wall some weeks into it, he figured out some muscular stuff that needed attention and we addressed it. His is gifted at stretching, and overall, my PT experience was better than I could have imagined. Dennis is extremely talented and efficient, so he can accomplish a lot in an hour session. The work he does with jaw (TMJ issues), head, and neck really helped me a lot. Dennis is a trainer, teacher, and expert in this field. In addition to his massage, Dennis does NLP (Neuro Linguisic Programming), which can be helpful as well. Dennis is one of the most dynamic and interesting people I've ever met, so every session I've had with him has been fun. I used to see him only when I was in town visiting my grandparents (who sadly no longer grace the earth) so I don't get occasion to visit Fort Lauderdale anymore. If I ever make it back there, I will try to get in with him again. I don't usually see male massage therapists, but I always felt at ease with him (and he gives his female clients tube tops and jogging shorts, so that he can get to all the important muscles without any discomfort). My husband and dad both had sessions with Dennis as well, and they also thought very highly of his work and had follow-up appointments.
