To be candid, this is a bit of an emotional review for me…read more Anyone who has ever struggled with chronic pain will know this to be true: it's absolute hell. For the past six years, I have had debilitating lower back pain. I've had to stop working out, and I've had days when I could barely walk across the room. I've gained weight, lost sleep, and have really struggled. The most frustrating part has been that no one could ever tell me what was wrong with my back. My scans showed some swelling in my SI joints, but that was always the end of it. A year ago, it was discovered through a blood test that I possess the gene HLA-B27, which can indicate the presence of a disease called Ankylosing Spondylitis. So there it was: an answer! But even after previous doctors saw this, they were hesitant to diagnose. Why? I have no idea. But I was always just put on pain medications, which is never a good answer. I actually stumbled into Dr. Paul by accident when my previous doctor was out on leave. She was the first person to have a long, focused conversation with me about what was going on, and diagnosed me with AS pretty much immediately. It was such a relief to have an actual answer. From there, I was put on the appropriate medications, and was pain-free almost immediately. It's been several months and I am still feeling amazing. Dr. Paul is an exceptional doctor, and spends time addressing questions and concerns, which I've found to be really rare with rheumatologists. She changed my entire life and I'm back to functioning at 100%, which I'll never take for granted. I cannot recommend her enough. Kathy, one of her staff, has been wonderful as well. Truly a great group of people.

Athletico University City saved my shoulder!…read more Prior to dislocating my shoulder, I had been on the best workout routine of my life. I had been lifting 5 days a week and playing basketball 1-2 days a week. I had never had a previous serious injury, nor had I been to PT. From day 1, Athletico and their staff (special shout out to my PT Jake) were friendly, informative, made the process seamless, and most importantly knowledgeable and effective. Jake knew his stuff and was great at progressively increasing the difficulty and intensity of our sessions. Also, they accept insurance much more easily than other places, which is a plus! Great staff, service and facility. 10/10 overall.

Extreme long wait. Took a lot of blood which I could not get the results. Was sending us to get an entire body nerve test. I have already had one on my right leg. That was very painful. I actually was in the restroom when he decided all this. I don't even remember the other things we were supposed to have done. Other people were coming and going quickly. My husband got the same paperwork even though he had an established history with pain mgt Dr's. Ours just moved out of state. I had proven problems also but he was much worse. We never heard a word from anyone after I am sure they didn't even do the test or we should have heard something. But they didn't even have results when I called them. Think they just wanted the money. This was several years ago when they showed 7 locations. Hopefully they are cleaning up their act.

This is excessive and unnecessary treatment just so I can have a few oral meds for pain. They're often not called in and don't expect a call back. It's a dirty clinic that usually is out of soap, paper towels and toilet paper even while lots of urine screens are going on. All the kind employees have left, I'm following their led if I ever get my requested medical records. You'll be told "spin the wheel and pick a spot" for injections because he won't order anything without them.

The physicians assistant says they only offer interventional pain relief. What does that mean? Do they review the referral notes sent by primary care physicians? I don't think so.
