We were really sad and ended up at Hood River Distillery where the owner mentioned Knot Another Hat just around the block! Oh. My. Gosh. For as many times as I come to Hood River I'm baffled at myself that I hadn't been to this shop! What is wrong with me?! We open the shop door and it was just pure magic, fiber heaven, a place of solace for those that work with fiber. The space is big, bright and beautifully set up. Right when you walk in there is a living room style set-up where knitters and crocheters come to do their work and hang out. The shop owner was very friendly and informative. We had questions about a few products and she answered them. She also let us in on Wine and Wool night where you come with your knitting/crochet project and drink wine! I love that there is a giant selection of Berroco yarn--which I am fond of. There was also a fair selection of unique yarns like locally spun yarn and imported yarn (from Ireland)! She had a small selection of needles, hooks and other supplies in a corner. Lots of cute project bags that are locally crafted! There was a nice selection of knit/crochet themed misc stuff, too! She had wool wash, dryer balls, TONS of patterns and hats that she has either made or designed. It's a lovely shop and has easily become a staple to my trips out here. If you're not a knitter/crochter it's a great place to get gives for the knitter/crocheter in your life!

Terrible customer service. They sell incomplete patterns and then hide behind their no refund…read morepolicy. They make you pay extra for the instruction videos after you've purchased the pattern, and later realize during the knitting process that it's incomplete. We live in a place that values community, and their business model is very anti community oriented. The yarn is beautiful, but the experience is not. Rather than attempting to make it right with the customer, they'll just ghost you.

It was June 30, 1997, on our way to visit our niece in Goldendale when we stopped in White Salmon…read moreto eat supper. We were seated on the second floor of a restaurant that was almost directly across the street from Collage of the Gorge. When I sat down I looked up and out of the big window to see the snow capped Mt Hood. It took my breath away. Had a great supper and asked the waitress if there is a hotel near by. She directed us to the quaint historic hotel just steps from the restaurant. Next morning I got dressed to walk the town and get a cup of coffee. I was too early for coffee shop to be open. However I did walk along the sidewalk in front of the Collage of the Gorge. I stopped to look at the wonderful ceramics and linens. Too early for your shop to be open. I did see a fish platter I wanted to get. After breakfast with my wife and daughter at the hotel we walked to your shop so I could but the platter. I was disappointed when I was told it was sold just minutes before we got there. The clerk told me someone bought it as a going away gift for someone associated with the local school. It so happened the person moving was relocating to Anne Arundel County, Maryland. We live in Annapolis MD, which is in Anne Arundel County. Small world. We did buy a different fish platter and a fish dish towel. I broke the platter but still use the towel. Our daughter and her family visited Goldendale in 2019, and stopped in your shop hoping to purchase another platter for us. Too bad, no more ceramics. I love telling these life stories! Regards Mike Dewberry
