The men working were nice and friendly, but they did an awful job in our apartment complex at Oakwood Apartments in Santa Maria. The paint was all over the place, im a tenant here and they're work and effort is a joke. Landlord paid for they're services but we have to deal with the eye sore. I called Julian from Paint Tech Restoration to come out and examine a leak in my walls due to the storm damage. I was concerned about mold. He was extremely responsive and the two employees that came were considerate, timely, professional and thorough in checking. I called Servicemaster in San Luis Obispo as well and got quite the opposite response. They were very rude and condescending and I chose not to have them in my home for an inspection. I am a Realtor in Santa Maria and was referred to Julian Ruiz, the owner of Paint Tech Restoration to get a bid for painting a portion of home I had in escrow that was required by the buyers lender. Julian and his assistant came to the home and we discussed what was needed. He sent me an estimate that same night. The price was lower than I expected and I had some doubts about what kind of results I would see if he did the paint work. I thought it was worth a try and hired Julian to do the work. He did the painting promptly, and professionally. He was even willing to wait for payment for escrow to close. His work was acceptable to the lender, the buyer and myself and the price was very good. There were no surprises and no disappointments. I then hired Paint Tech to completely repaint both the exterior and interior of another home I had listed. Julian and his team did a great job. I had a water leak and needed some drywall repair work done from where the plumber had to cut it open. After calling three other drywall contractors with no return phone calls, I called Paint-Tech. Julian called me back the same day (Friday), scheduled to come out and look at the problem on Saturday morning and scheduled the work to be done on Monday morning. Price is fair and he was very upfront about what needed to be done. I will be calling Paint-tech from now on for my construction needs. read more

Julian does a very nice job. I've been using him to paint my commercial properties for several years, and he has painted my private residence as well. He uses the best paint unless you want something cheaper. His prices are reasonable. He is honest and will tell you if there is dry rot or other issues. I once hired another painter for a commercial property, and he just painted right over damaged siding. He never said a thing about it to me. It cost me thousands later to repair because of water damage. Julian would never do that. He just finished up an office building for me, and he did an amazing job. He informed me of rust and wood damage and we were able to address those areas. Painters seem to be very busy right now. Don't be fooled by bids of $6k to $12k to paint your 2,300 square foot home. They are ripping you off, and the paint job won't be any better. Julian's prices are fair. He doesn't inflate them. He is busy, so keep that in mind. You will need to schedule in advance to get him, and during the summer it can be weeks. I'm actually on the waiting list for him to paint two properties (my home is one of those), but it's so worth the wait. FYI- winter time can be a slower time for painters, so you may find availability and pricing to be better....no matter who you hire. Also, ask the painter who will be painting the home or property. I've seen painters sub out their jobs to their competitors. They'll give you an inflated price, and then turn around and pay another contractor to paint it. They'll then keep the difference. Painted the building we live in, took them weeks, would only work a few hours whenever they wanted to. Put plastic over our windows and then waited days before painting, leaving us without fresh air. Then when they did the front of the building they put the plastic over the windows, but cut slits in the plastic so we could get air but in doing so cut slits in all of our window screens. And then they took over a week to get around painting the front of the building. The repaired some crack in the lower half of the building, re-stuccoed some of it and when they repainted over it you could see all the places they repaired. It has been months since they started and we are still waiting for them to finish, the place looks like crap,.they do shoddy work, take their sweet damn time and leave a mess when they are done. Not worth a single penny to pay these guys to do anything, obviously they do not know what the hell they are doing! read more
