Back story - my father-in-law is a master carpenter and has high expectations of work to be done but can't do the physical labor himself any more. He met with Eddie and was super impressed by his vast knowledge, honesty and flexibility. My husband and I, who are by no means knowledgeable in this field, we're impressed by his kindness, design suggestions and professionalism. We both work from home and he and his crew took great concern with not disturbing us, were very clean and weren't bothered my beagle would bark "hello" to them every morning. They were clean, made helpful suggestions and were always so kind. Oh! They were also VERY reasonable! We got quoted more from Home Depot with less services. After we hired them, we realized that they had actually previously done work on our house with the previous owners! Jobs they did: sanded and painted 35 red oak cabinet doors to a beautiful white, add all our new handles back on, painted the frames/ bases of all our cabinets, laid new backsplash in a herringbone pattern, sanded and painted our wood fireplace, sanded and stained about 1400 sq ft of wood floors, sanded and stained/painted our stair case and spindles. Jobs we are already planning on contracting them for: Finish fencing in our backyard, finish the flooring and creating a sliding door in our laundry room. I also want to mention how tidy they tried to keep my house during all the work they did with paper, plastic etc. AND They did ALL THIS WORK in less than a month. I can't wait to hire them for our next home project because I'm so confident in their work - we aren't even asking anyone else for a quote!

Some of the projects he has completed in our home include painting the walls, laying tile, adding storage space in our attic, updating the master bath including replacing the shower and tiling. He also painted our 30-year-old oak kitchen cabinets, replacing some panels with glass inserts, installing soft-close rails on all the drawers and replacing the old pulls and hinges, making them look modern and stunning and saving us a ton of money -- we would have paid at least three times the amount Eddie charged to replace our old solid cabinets with ones of comparable quality. In addition to Eddie's outstanding craftsmanship he often has excellent design suggestions. He is also pleasant, personable, responsive and a pleasure to work with -- a major consideration when we hire anyone to work in our home. On top of all that he charges reasonable rates. So when I meet someone like Luis, it seems all the more incredible. After being ghosted, gouged, ignored and subjected to amateur work, Yorktown Painting Home Improvement is a d*amned miracle. Luis is polite and professional, called us back and showed up when he said he would for an initial walkthrough. That in and of itself is impressive, given our experience with local contractors. His bid was more than fair (it was half of our highest bid) and his crew was able to start the project quickly. Here's where it seems too good to be true- they showed up every morning early, worked until dark, left the job site neat and organized, and finished the job ahead of schedule. They did Sheetrock installation and repair, a bit of framing and painted walls, ceilings, closet doors and trim for us in our great room and a spare room conversion, and it all looks incredible. The attention to detail is clear, and we still can't believe they did so much so well in such a short period of time. I was blown away by our experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Luis. I asked if he could come by our house anytime that week to give us a quote for two jobs. If the numbers seemed good, we would need the job done by the end of the following week. Peter said this would be no problem and that he would come by the house at the latest by the weekend. Just to be safe, I called on Friday (as he did not come during the week) to confirm that he would be coming on Saturday or Sunday. He asked to text pictures of our patio and said he might be able to come that day but if not to call him Saturday morning (the next day) to confirm a time. As requested I called on Saturday morning. No one picked up so I left a message and never heard back. He never came. He never followed up. We never got a quote or any response after multiple confirmations. Peter even said that they would most likely be able to do the job by the deadline as they weren't very busy that week. This is bad customer service at its finest. Telling a customer you are going to do something and not doing it is what you can expect from this company. I guess they don't want our service/money. Find another company. Don't give bad business owners business.
