I was looking for a nail salon in the Destin area but I couldn't find a price guide for any of them so I started calling the nail salons to find out how much no-chip nails cost. Among the 7 places I called, Painting Nails and Spa was the first place that picked up after the first ring and they were so polite on the phone that I decided to check them out. It really means a lot when a business picks up the phone, I have two small children and I cannot be running around from nail salon to nail salon checking who is accepting appointments and who isn't. They already won me over with that. The location is easily accessible and has parking. As I came to find out, a no-chip manicure is actually gel nails. I asked to get a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. The lady working my nails did a great job on my manicure and pedicure- I felt so relaxed. My nail color was beautiful and it was the right break I needed form my husband and kids. I left but then on Sunday morning I noticed that three or my nails began chipping. I called the salon thinking I'd leave a message but to my surprise the owner answered and I explained what happened and she said come inside I'll fix it for you. I didn't expect her to answer on a Sunday but it yet again shows me that they care about the quality of their work and integrity. I went back the next day and had my nails fixed, the owner even took pictures of the nails so she can show the employee who was off which showed me accountability and also process improvements. I really respect that and value that as a customer. I highly recommend this salon, thank you Wendy and team for the remarkable customer service and nail service, I am beyond happy and grateful! read more

My gel polish manicure was great. The gentleman seen my nails were a little weak and applied an extra base coat. He also added thicker color. It has been a week of normal use of my hands without chipping. I'm so glad I stopped in on a whim. I so wish I could find a good salon at home. read more

As I stated in earlier post it's been too long since we've been back and these guys did not disappoint. I had Wendy and we didn't get the guys name that took care of Nora. We both had the Orange and some kind of Lemon something. It was great and very relaxing. The only negative for me was people need to keep there business and phone calls on hold because all we heard were people talking excessively loud about their business on the phone it was very irritating. read more

The wife and I went in for a pedicure. We called to make an appointment, which proved helpful as they were ready for us when we arrived. The people who worked here were very friendly. I did a buff instead of polish. Which is at no extra charge. For some reason, other places charge for this, even when not getting polish. Anyways. My wife got a little pressure to get gel, but she declined. We did package three which was $48. There is a package 4 for $58. I cannot recall the exact price for package 1 and package 2, but I believe they we about $30 and $38 respectively. We will return. read more

last week, Vivian gave me my best dipped manicure ever! I have been showing off my nails to everyone. Today I went back for a pedicure...my ingrown toenails were getting painful. Vivian was terrific! my nails look and feel great. she gave me such an awesome massage on my feet, for 3 hours I was telling my husband "ooohhhh...my feet feel so good..". Had a pedicure (basic is $35). Paid for a small upgrade to $40 orange peel to get salt scrub, callus treatment and (specifically on their menu) 6 min massage. Gentleman threw some orange peels in the very lukewarm water. Never got a callus treatment or massage. So guess I paid $5 for orange peels. Plenty of other places to go in Destin so will not be back. read more

You will not regret this decision! I needed 8 pedicures last minute and all together. So many places said nope. However, when I called Painting Nails they said yes right away with only having to do a little rearranging. We walked in and knew immediately we had made a good call. The staff is amazing, friendly and so easy going. You will not be dissatisfied or disappointed with anyone there. They made us feel like we were at home. We look forward to going back next time we are in the area. read more

Wendy greeted me with a warm welcome when I arrived at my appointment time. Thank you Wendy for making my day with the best mani pedi ever! I love the color you helped me to pick, and the flower design is beautiful. I'm sorry I didn't ask the guy's name that massaged my legs & feet. The hot stone massage was the best I've ever had. In the past at other salons, the stones have been too hot or the massage too rough. This massage couldn't have been more perrrfect. Both were very attentive, and checked with me often to make sure I was satisfied and enjoying my time there. At my first visit a few weeks ago, I was in a hurry. Two nail technicians worked together as quickly as possible to complete my mani pedi in the amount of time that I had. I recommend making an appointment that allows enough time to be spoiled like I was yesterday. The cost was well worth it. Thanks to my friend Jill for recommending my new happy place! read more

Only place I come for my annual pedicure, lame I know I just never find the time. I always walk in without an appointment and they take me right in. I find the experience to be a pleasant one and the prices are fine, though I agree with the others that they should be posted somewhere. $95 for two pedicures one with french tips (guess thats what its called) the other was man feet that needed some work :) The staff are very sweet, the place is clean and my feet feel great, what else can you ask for? read more

I was very Disappointed in this Salon. It got pretty good reviews. I called to see if they had any openings no one called me back. Then I walked in and they said " we are busy" no one said come back in 30 min an hour , tomorrow. Nothing. they just let me walk out. They obviously have enough business. Worst manicure EVER! Had a gel mani today with one of their male techs. He used the dremel to take…read moreoff my old gel, but missed some spots and just left them. Then he used a nail file with a grit that was WAY too aggressive, leaving the nail bed all ragged. He used that file on the edges, and shaped 2 of my nails round even though mine were obviously square. So now I have 2 rounded and 8 square. Then he didn't shake the polish before putting it on, so it didn't go on smoothly. I had to keep pointing out the spots where it was bare from the polish being too watery. But the WORST was when he went to put chrome on at the end. He had no idea what he was doing. He globbed way too much on each nail and didn't smooth it out before sticking my hand into the dryer. Then when it hardened, he used that same super gritty nail file to file big spots off! All the way down to the bare nail again! He kept doing the whole process- gel polish, harden, clear polish, harden, too much chrome, harden, then file big spots off - until I was literally in tears. But there was no other staff there to talk to. Then at the very end, when I pulled my hands back and insisted I was done, he said he needed to get all the polish, grit and chrome powder off the sides of my fingers. He had smeared it on either side of the nail, and now it was all hardened. But instead of using remover, he took the cuticle scissors and tried to cut it off!! This hurt, as he took the skin with it. I was so traumatized I couldn't think straight. I paid -- $70!! -- and ran out. I'm attaching photos so you can see what a mess he made. Will have to be totally redone. Beware!

First off, the spa was very clean and the pedicure chairs were the most comfortable I've ever been in. The back massage that it provided was very relaxing. Now, for the pedicure, it included the usual exfoliation, polish removal, cuticle trimming, etc. Loc was very gentle and careful with my skin and nails. The extra add ins for the "deluxe" part was, a lavender scrub, skin mask, moisturizer, a long and deep massage of the feet and lower legs, hot wax treatment and warm stones followed by OPI's Cozu-melted in the Sun paint on the toenails. I was there for what seemed like an hour and a half. And it was total bliss! I was sure that it would cost me an arm and a leg for the service that I received but when I checked out, the lady (I believe she's Loc's wife) said $60. I added a tip of over 65% because I was so pleased with their service and care. It's a really nice salon located very conveniently for me right off of 98. I normally get a pedicure right before coming down to the beach but from now on, I will wait until I get here for my beach pedicure!

What a wonderful nail salon! I came here while on vacation after seeing all the great reviews, and it absolutely lived up to the reputation. The salon is very clean and welcoming, and they got me in right away. Everyone was so kind and patient, offering me a bottle of water and making me feel right at home. The quality of the work was excellent, and they even stayed open a little later to make sure everything was perfect. Truly an outstanding business--I wish I lived closer so I could come here all the time! read more

First impression is important and i think this one right here left such a positive impression with me. I love how delicate and careful my tech was. This is my go to nail salon and they always do such an amazing job!! Angela, Wendy, and everyone else always takes their time and creates beautiful results. They also have the best prices! Love to get my nails done here! Such great service and a clean establishment. Everyone is so friendly upon arrival and I never feel rushed to pick out a color or leave the comfy massage chairs! Amazing! When we came in they didn't have enough staff for us so they called in back up who were there within minutes! Then the absolute best pedicure ensued. For all of us, we all agreed our best ever. The staff was so fun and we enjoyed the whole experience. read more

Best pink & white you'll find in Destin. Beautiful pedi's / nail are but it's rather expensive for the basic pedi with nail art on ONE toe. They need to find a wall to put their pricing up at... I don't like having to ask or wait until service is complete. read more
