The only thing that bothered me was the etiquette of some of the other attendees. Some of them were really loud and commenting loudly on each piece which kind of took away from my experience. They also happened to have a dance performance from the Texas AMA inside which is cool, power to all arts including dance but it was distracting and smack dab in the middle of some interesting pieces I would've liked more time with before my flight. Elizabeth's was a cool restaurant. The blood orange ahi tuna was really delicious like spot on. My martini was okay. They didn't have olives and I've had better being from vegas. Prices are fair though and the staff is decently nice. Lots of crying babies in there when I went though which kind of killed the artsy vibe I was hoping for but I guess that happens in a touristy part of town in Texas. Overall it was nice I'm just a sensitive person and enjoy quiet to ponder art and eat my meal so consider that if you're traveling solo and are similar I suppose. Gift shop was cool and I had a nice chat with the lovely lady in there. And the security guard was cool, he let me store my luggage with him. It's a quick walk over from the convention center so if you want a little art time and a quick drink and meal that's super convenient, it's kind of a no brainer.

We popped in on Saturday, and we thoroughly enjoyed visiting with Sheri as we browsed her beautiful creations! We ended up purchasing several unique pendants as meaningful souvenirs from this resilient and talented artist who shared her moving, personal story of survival in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. We love visiting Port A, and the surrounding coast. The beaches are both fun and relaxing, and you have the opportunity to meet inspirational natives like Sheri:)

We had 5 families looking for a kid-friendly activity over spring break in Corpus Christi last…read moreweek. Sandcastle building with Chip "DC Sandman" was a huge hit! After some quick instruction, the kids, ranging from 6-12 years old, all dove into their own creations. Chip helped as needed, but really let the kids be the creators, which I really appreciated. He had all kinds of supplies, from various shaped buckets to kitchen utensils, that were "repurposed" as sand sculpting tools. The kids were so into their creations, they barely looked up for 3 hours! In the end, they had lots of compliments from people on the beach, and very happy parents. I highly recommend anyone...from couples to big groups, give Chip a call and make some memories together.

We found Chip's sand castle building class on the Corpus Christi website and I'm so glad we did. He was GREAT with the children. He was super patient and relaxed. He showed them some very basic stuff so they wouldn't get frustrated and then built upon that foundation. He came with lots of equipment for us so we weren't providing or hauling anything ourselves. Chip was so friendly! He helped set my worrying mom-mind at ease. He seemed to sense when the kids had enough of one activity and moved on to the next. I highly recommend his services to anyone else going to the beach in the Corpus Christi, North Padre area. If we go back again, we'll be calling upon Chip!

The recommendation was to tour all the public levels and then go so the movie (which is no additional charge) at the end. Be ready to climb some steps and do a lot of walking. The have a single elevator however that only goes one floor. It's not really an accesable museum. We spent many hours on our selfguided tour. It took almost an entire day. I'm sure, if you don't have the time, you can speed it up but we were not in a hurry.

I really didn't plan much for my time in Corpus Christi. There was the ballgame and NPS site that…read morebrought me there, but two nights allowed for some sightseeing. While in Sugar Land and talking to staff there, someone said make sure to check out the USS Lexington if I got the chance. I got the chance. Walking four levels down below deck and then back up to the main deck was really cool. It mostly gave a taste of what it must have been like on that ship, but also had some great historic displays (like one for Rosie the Riveter, whose NHS I visited in California last year). Anyway from the main deck, I then continued three or four flights up to the flight deck and then up a few more levels to the control/navigation deck. Some narrow and steep staircases meant bumping my head a few times, akin to the sitcom dolt who always does it when entering an attic or basement. Anyway, it was windy on the flight deck, but just so cool to see and walk around. It was time well spent ahead of my game that evening

We even got a great deal compared to any of the other stores we called. I will come back and send any of my family and friends to Galvan store.
