I think this is the first poor review I have written on Yelp. Went this morning with my young…read moredaughter and her friend. We had never been so had absolutely no idea what we needed to do. We were greeted and given a very brief description on pricing and how to wipe down pottery we selected with water. Then told when we were done to pick out paints and they would then tell us the next step. No one explained the next step. I had to ask for additional paint brushes, stand for pottery, how to use certain paints. The store was packed but when paying $55.00 for two items of pottery I feel things should be explained. The people we met up with ended up using the "wrong" paint on a piece she spent $30.00 for. She wasn't able to even finish it the way she had hoped for. Overall I would imagine if you knew what you were doing it would be a nice time. Not impressed

For her birthday, I decided to make the drive and and registered us for a class... SOOOO HAPPY I DID! We spent the afternoon creating seaglass art... It was SO MUCH FUN... There are so many types of classes they offer, but the sea glass was our choice for the day. Cheri, the owner, and her assistant, Corey... Well they were just the loveliest women. Always there to help but not pushing their way into our projects... They offered advice... But only when needed. They are knowledgeable and experienced in their crafts... And they have so many options and supplies... Each time they went into the back room the emerged with more fun supplies and ideas. I CANNOT WAIT TO GO BACK!

Tons of folks to help direct you and find your seat but the seating is logically laid out so you can also manage on your own. I will look for other shows to attend. It's a wonderful venue.

I argued and they sent me to those seats anyway. Upon checking them, I returned back to the person and said no I paid for balcony front row in the center. You're trying to put me all the way to the right in the last row up against the wall on the bottom level. The workers then in a very snarky tone said go upstairs to your seats then and you can scream all you want up there. On our way we were stopped by another person trying to give us "a better view". Once at the entrance for our level someone else tried to get us to get different seats and then when we were sitting someone ELSE tried to "upgrade" our seats. If you don't want people on your balcony, don't sell balcony tickets.

I'd recommend the covering because your clothes will get dirty. They had a bunch of different rooms in the building dedicated for the painting. The rooms have black walls and a full drum set. You can paint on your canvases, the walls, drum set, each other, anything! We got to choose our music for the entire 30 minutes- we just told the worker what artist and they put on a playlist. We had a really good time and would definitely go again, and likely check out the Break Rooms.

I was pleasantly surprised it was so well organized and presented. No cover charge but they take donations. It is located inside a townhouse building and has two floors to explore. Downstairs they have a small movie theater that shows movies about our First Ladies past and present. Also beautiful collection of clothing, and china display from White House. If you have couple hours to kill check them out!

But on Mother's Day we got to see a lot of the rooms we never saw. And got to ask more questions and take our time a bit more. All around good experience. You want to see as many of the rooms as possible. Pro tip. If you are doing a house and garden tour leave the house thru the front door. This way you don't have to back track the gardens. Out the front door take a right to head along the back of the house and the gardens. Don't miss the greenhouse. The Japanese garden and the really all the gardens are beautiful. It's a nice walk. You can definitely get your steps in. It's a nice afternoon. We spent about 2.5 hours. Could have spent longer. But we were hungry. This was a good experience overall and fun afternoon.

Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens is such a beautiful place to visit all year round. I remember going…read morehere several times as a child for field trips and I have always been fascinated with this home. Several years ago I found out that they have special tours at Christmas time where you can tour the house and each room has a different theme and you can also tour the grounds where they have Christmas light displays. I believe the tickets this past Christmas or $28 each which goes towards keeping up the estate and grounds. I feel like that's a fair price. There is so much to see in the estate and out on the grounds and I suggest coming here during the year as well for a regular tour. The Christmas decor is so beautiful each room in the estate is typically sponsored by a local business. It's so interesting to see some of the old furniture, dishes, light fixtures, truly whatever you can think of it's all so beautiful. They even have a greenhouse on the property where you can go to purchase plants, especially poinsettias for the Christmas season. They have a little concession stand where they sell things like hot chocolate, coffee, wine and beer, cookies, chili, soft pretzels, etc. Santa even stops by during certain hours where you can visit him. Overall, this is one of my favorite places to visit during the Christmas season and as a child I loved coming here during the year.
