Hands down my favorite part of my recent trip to Savannah…read more I had signed up originally to do a couples' event, and well, wound up just going solo at the last minute. Anyway, they mention it on the website, but I feel you should know that if you change your mind about what exactly you want to make, they tend to be very flexible about this. I was able to change my selection no issue. The couples' event consisted of two glasses, and well, I changed my mind and made a glass, as well as a little baby pumpkin. Now before you get started, they make you sign a safety waiver and they give you some instructions as to what will be going on. If you get overwhelmed, don't fret because they make this so simple that a child could do it. Heck, children have gone there and had their fun. At least with Caleb, the instructor that I had, this was a seamless process. Caleb was a real gem and somehow I managed to get him to myself. An oddity in itself, but I went on a Saturday afternoon at 2 PM. I suppose most people were at brunch. It was the later evening slots that were busy. Just something to keep in mind if you're like me and get overwhelmed with groups of people. That said, it seems they cap these events at maybe a dozen people or so. Nothing crazy. This isn't the 30ish people you see at your typical painting class. At any rate, once the pieces are done, you need to wait 24 hours to get them. You can either pick them or have them shipped to your house. I chose the latter. Shipping for me was $35 and they came to me exactly one week later. Brandon, who I believe is the owner, texted me with the tracking number. From beginning to end, this was a legit joy. Oh, and did I mention that the pieces turned out beautiful? I'm dying to display them. Otherwise, Caleb provided me with many recommendations for my time in Savannah, including a restaurant I loved. You best believe I will do this again when I return to Savannah. Glassblowing is definitely not something you see everywhere. In fact, if memory serves me correctly, I think Caleb said around 300 people were still instructing this art. Who knew?

Our class turned out to be small, which is probably a good thing. There is only one sink so clean up could take a while with a large class. It's a bit pricy but what isn't these days. Our instructor is super nice and very patient. We have no experience so we need lots of instruction. He's kind and gentle in the ways he instructs. He doesn't make you feel bad when you totally mess up. He's also good at giving you encouragement along the way. The first class was all about form and how to work the wheel and clay. I'll try and update my review with pics once we actually make something that we are keeping. There was plenty of free street parking.

They allow you to bring your own catering and there were several stations and tables set up with different crafts. Depending on the size of your party, parking may be an issue to keep in mind. I've gone here twice now, once for a private event and again just this past week so I've been able to make two items here. I've made the lazy Susan and the chunky knit blanket. Both experiences were far beyond what I thought they would be. Again the staff is so incredible and a lot are SCAD students with all different outlooks on art. The experience both times was very personable and all around a fun time. I will 100% be coming back to AR Workshop. The owner was actually telling me they've set up some cool $10/$15 projects for walk ins and that's right up my alley! Affordable and fun! I can't wait to come back and share more experiences with the yelp community.

If you are visiting Savannah and are looking for something atmospheric and family friendly, this is for you! The first part takes you on a trolley ride that goes around town in a trolley while hearing from a tour guide. This part definitely emphasizes on the historical parts of Savannah and it's interesting to see these sorts of buildings with a bit of narration. The 2nd half had us stop at an old building and when we walked in, we got an amazing show inside. Note that photography is not allowed during the show. Although the story was more theatrical-oriented than historical and sometimes gave a chuckle, the actors have a phenomenal performance, especially the priest narrator. Don't want to get in too much spoilers but it's entertaining to say the least. Overall, loved the unique experience of Savannah!

We took the Gray Line Savannah Ghost Hunt tour which included the Savannah Underground. The tour…read morewas great with Radar as our driver and May as our tour guide. Both were VERY nice and the the trolly was completely in sync with the guide (reaching the destination at just the right time in the story. The Underground performance was the most unique and exciting experience we have ever had for the environment, narrator, immersive experience and the actors. VERY fun and exciting!

Danny Moron and Danni Moron, the Moron Twins were a great duo to entertain the group…read more It's nonstop laughter from start to finish as the duo cracked jokes that interlaced with each other in a smooth delivery. They incorporated material from guests on the bus and peppered laughs throughout the tour. It was irreverent, a little raunchy in just the right way to make you blush. One of the highlights include Danny existing the bus and taking the show to the street with innocent bystanders becoming part of the show, all while narrated inside by Danni. We covered several blocks with Danny running through the streets and squares while we laughed in the air conditioned trolly. A great show, must do when visiting Savannah... and you'll learn a little history too... but much, but just enough.

Our guides, Danny and Dannii, were bursting with high energy and delivered non-stop humor throughout the entire experience. They skillfully wove in fascinating historical facts about Savannah while keeping us laughing the whole way around the city. A quick heads-up: the humor does get a little risqué at times, so it's definitely not for the faint of heart! The highlight (or should I say lowlight for my husband's dignity) was when he received an unforgettable "lap dance"--or more accurately, a face dance. I've never seen his face turn quite that shade of red or heard him laugh so hard. It was priceless.
