From the moment I arrived, my stylist was kind, professional, and made me feel completely comfortable and confident. She cut, dried, and styled my hair in under two hours, and the results were absolutely beautiful. Even more impressive, my hairstyle lasted over 12 hours and looked amazing throughout the entire event. The appointment flew by because she was such a great conversationalist. As an added bonus, she's also a talented artist, and I enjoyed admiring her artwork and current projects while I was there. Overall, I highly recommend Diamond Salon. My stylist was the most memorable part of my visit to Del Rio, and her talent, warmth, and attention to detail made the entire experience exceptional. I would definitely return if I am ever back in town.

My specific request before the cut "not to continue trimming the top like my side and let it grow out" was ignored and the fade continued onto the top of my head giving me an almost faux hawk look. I did not ask the top to be thinned out and was not even asked before they proceeded to thin out the already excessively chopped hair. I booked with Rochelle and was really looking forward to getting my hair done. I took a few hours PTO from my job and came in with an inspirational pic (first pic) and explained that I really liked that her hair is dark blonde like my natural color and the highlights weren't at the roots so it's low maintenance. I liked the golden blonde "money piece" in the front. Rochelle explained that I had booked a dimensional highlight and this would be considered a balayage. I had put "sun-in" in my hair which left a reddish/orange color so I wanted my hair back to my dark blonde with a few highlights. A balayage is a free-handed coloring technique that cost more than a typical foil highlight. I was fine with it so long as it turned out like the picture I brought in. The haircut turned out great! The coloring service is where the ball was dropped. My entire head of hair was foiled which Rochelle explained that she does her balayage like that. I was just "trusting the process". Once my hair was done and dry, I was shocked to see that my hair wasn't dark blonde AT ALL. Rochelle decided to dye my hair ash blonde instead. The highlights were from root to end like a typical foil. Exactly what I did NOT want. In fact, most of my hair is highlighted when most of it was supposed to be dark blonde. The blonde is very bright compared to the golden blonde in the inspirational pic I showed Rochelle. I said something immediately when I looked in the mirror just to be told it "looks better than it did". I didn't make the appointment and pay $300+ to just look better than it did. I paid for a specific service and left highly disappointed. I was also told a semi-permanent color was used so I don't even know what it will look like in a few more weeks. None of this was discussed ahead of time. As it stands, I have so much bleach on my hair that I will need to wait for it to grow out a lot before trying to color it again. No, I wasn't going back to have it corrected for that reason and also because if someone didn't listen the first time, I don't trust they will listen the second time. I really don't like writing negative reviews for anyone but feedback is important. I waited a couple of months for appt., took PTO, sat through 4 1/2 hours, paid over $300 just to end up not liking my hair at all. Owner is extremely unprofessional and ran to social media posting personal attacks because I wrote an HONEST review. Way too old to be acting like that.
