I feel bad for dentists on websites like this. I mean, who is ever going to give a dentist five…read morestars; just the word dentist gives me shivers down my spine. I am, however, going to attempt evading this stigma around dentists and write this review in the most objective way possible, not thinking of my constant feeling of wanting to cry last time I was there. OK. I guess I could say my dentist is always quite friendly - we don't really have a big chat considering he has dentistry utensils in my mouth the majority of the appointment, but when we do chat he is always quite cheery and non-patronising when we talk about how I'm studying a Bachelor of Communications. They also have a TV that you can watch whilst the dentist is doing their thing, although maybe they should look into getting subtitles because you can never actually hear anything when your teeth are getting cleaned or drilled or whatever. Lastly, the receptionist is always nice to me, probably because whenever I emerge from the appointment room I look like I want to bolt out the door as soon as I can. So, Glendowie Dental Centre, after my attempt to be as objective as possible, I give you a well-rounded, well-deserved 4 stars. Yay for you!

But I like check ups, and scans and acupunture and doctors hands on my neck and stuff. I'm going to regret writing this I think. But, the one medical visit I absolutely do not enjoy is the dentist. I just hate the invasiveness of someone being all up in my mouth, and why, WHY would you ask me questions when you can't understand my reply?! At the beginning of last year I got a really bad toothache and dad told me to try out this new guy. Well, I expected the worst, obiously, but seriously, this was such a pain free experience it makes me question what all the other dentists were doing... Ivan is super friendly, and super intelligent. This made me relax a bit. He sat me down and explained everything that he would be doing, which prepared me mentally and left no room for surprises of the bad kind. There was of course the unpleasant sounds of drills and whatnot, but for the first time I was able to kind of ignore it and just lie there. It helps that there is a tv on the roof. Going to the dentist is never going to be great, but this was such a mellow experience i'm no longer ignoring potentially serious mouth issues just to avoid the dentist. And the extra bonus? His fee is extremely reasonable

Anyway, the service and quality and professionalism here are great - I wouldn't go anywhere else. Plus they have cool machines - they made a computer generated model of my tooth and then crafted a replacement piece to fit perfectly out of some sort of glass. Was very cool.
