When we arrived, we were shown to the room immediately after a brief introduction to the hotel and city. We were offered any advice we needed as well as access to concierge services gratis. The staff was welcoming and friendly as well. It's very comfortable. The room decor was elegant and the bed was wonderful after a long trip. Coffee and a welcome bottle of Prosecco were also waiting for us. The view is really, truly right on the canal. It's fantastic but surprisingly quiet at night, likely due to the excellent windows We took the water taxi to the San Marco Square then walked back and it was about a 30 minute walk with beautiful shops and restaurants almost the entire way. Final note, the breakfast was a very good value with a diverse selection and excellent coffee. We recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

Window was blocked by a huge bush -- no light - Asked for another room - what they offered was just as bad. The private water taxi (100 Euros) was not worth the money to pull into the hotel - its not special at all. But if you don't do that and take the train, you'll have to take the vaporetto hauling your luggage to San Marco to catch the free shuttle to the hotel. No one would stay there if there wasn't a free shuttle. All the 5 star reviews are fake. Staff was snickering at us, food was bland and overpriced. New hires didn't even know how to make the simplest drinks or even pour a draft beer. The architecture does not reflect the naturalistic and architectural heritage as they describe. The building and common areas are old, cold and dirty. If the rooms are dirty - the spa is dirty and unsanitary. We were planning on spending a lot of money at the spa but passed. We already spent the money to get there and stay at this 2 star hotel - I felt in all good conscience NOT to spend any money at JW. We had a lovely day at a spa off San Marco Square. Don't eat at JW - unbelievable restaurants with tremendous food in Venice - especially the walking food tour with Marianna - Stay at a true 5-star hotel - NOT the JW MArriott

I first found out about this place when I was asking for recommendations of where to stay in Venice on FB as everything seemed overpriced. This hotel came as a recommendation for a travel agent friend and it was the best hotel I stayed at while in Italy. The front desks employees (shout out to John Luca) are so helpful in assisting you on where to eat and how to get to certain places. Upon my return visit they gave me the same room that I had on my previous visit which was a thrill as I could see St Mark's square from my window. The rooms are clean and typically size for Europe. The breakfast they serve is fabulous!! And the location truly cannot be beat. Not only is Lido a fabulous alternative to Venice but Hotel Panorama is directly across from the water bus station making getting around a breeze. I would stay here again and again and recommend it to anyone!

The hotel is very clean, quiet and great value for money. All members of staff cannot do enough for you and no job is a problem. The breakfast buffet is amazing, I think the best quality and size I have ever witnessed, we were stuffed after this and it lasted all day for us! There is a lovely little roof garden here which overlooks the lagoon and St Marks square. Its amazing to sit and watch the world go by from here. I would thoroughly recommend the Hotel Panorama. If staying here get the great value week pass on the vaporetto (water taxi). Also if you have time, take the mini cruise to the amazing Island of Burano, such an amazing place, the laws of this island state that all houses must be different colours

However, it was relatively easy once you get it! Upon arrival, we were greeted with a warm smile but the room was not ready yet. However, given my Platinum Elite status, they said they will prioritize us first. The girl was very helpful by giving us a map and providing time estimates and where we could go while waiting. The room was alright. I found out that the AC is turned off in November but we went there end of October. The best they could do is unlock the windows for us to open it partially. Kind of surprised that HVAC systems were not readily available. I must be a spoiled American. There are water and fruits at the lobby 24/7 so that was nice. 1 star taken off for turning off the AC services earlier than planned, but most importantly for not encompassing of customer needs for a HVAC system that offers both year round!

Yes, it's a best western, but it has a boutique feel and very modern. The rooms were really nice. There's an outdoor patio. Didn't really use any amenities or explore the hotel, but it was clean, modern and away from the hub bub. Also pretty easy to get to the airport. There's a restaurant and bar as well. The front desk is probably the only downside, depending on the receptionist. Upside, they did have a converter for us to use inside the room.

On Friday, 11/08/25, we realized that a small bag containing only our receipts, which had been sitting on the dresser by the mirror, was gone. Since it was only receipts, we did not think much of it at the time. The next day, Saturday, 11/09/25, the jewelry and gifts we had purchased in Murano also went missing. These included a thank you gift for my sister (red Murano glass earrings), a bracelet and earrings for our daughter, and a Murano glass bottle opener. All of the items were kept together in their jewelry boxes in a plastic bag on the dresser in front of the mirror. Altogether, the value was about €80. We discovered the items were missing on Sunday while packing and doing laundry and immediately reported it to the front desk on 11/09/25. We were told that both the front desk manager and general manager were off that day. Staff said they spoke with the cleaner assigned to our room, who denied taking anything. Since there are no cameras inside rooms, there was unfortunately no way for us or the hotel to verify what happened. When we checked out on Monday, 11/10/25, we spoke with the front desk manager. He was polite, apologetic, and tried to help. He refunded us $10 for the laundry coins we had purchased, but that did not come close to the value of the missing items. He suggested that perhaps the items had been mixed in with the blankets and thrown away accidentally, but we explained that everything had been sitting on the dresser, not in the bedding, and the items were heavy and in boxes. After returning home, I waited about a month to see if management would follow up or offer any additional resolution, but I never heard back. I am not someone who normally leaves negative reviews, but this was very disheartening, especially because we traveled to Venice for our wedding anniversary and had an otherwise wonderful stay. Unfortunately, this situation left a lasting negative impression on what could have been a perfect trip.
