My daughter attended Pali for one week in 2025 summer. She's 10 years old and this was her first time away from Family. She had so much fun! She's been talking about it non stop since getting home. She made great friends, enjoyed the electives (especially magic!) and made lots of nice art projects in the fine arts elective. Next year she's asking to do two weeks. As a parent, it can be nerve-racking to send your child away. But Pali has a great app and we were able to get picture updates frequently as well as written letters from her through the app. We have nothing but positive things to say about this program. read more

A counselor is in the cabin with you doesn't let any of the campers sleep in the same bunkbed as him even takes the top bunk mattress for them self so they has to mattress. 2. They make you drink 2 cups of water to get a soda. 3. In the gift shop at Pali camp food and drinks are for adults only. 4. Also, they only give you three warnings and you're kicked out. 1st warning you're right an apology letter to the person you were disrespecting, 2nd warning You go to the Pali principal and you call your parents and tell them what happened, and 3rd warning you kicked out and your parents have to drive all the way to Pali camp just to pick you up read more

My kid has gone for two summers now and absolutely raves about how much he loves it. The staff there is always friendly, welcoming and helpful to us parents that have lots of questions. From the admin staff that even invited us to come tour the camp last year before we had signed up for a summer session, to the wellness center staff that helped us with medical questions - everyone there is top tier. My son had a week of fun but it was plague with Racism. The remarks from other students were unacceptable. My son and another African American peer he met were called the N word daily. The staff did nothing. I contacted the director but communication failed when I asked to speak with the parents of one of the kids that harassed my son. I specifically ask to speak with one of the kids parents. Communication stopped with Pali when I was told his parents never returned her call. I tried to make a neg situation positive for my son. I paid close to $6000.00 for two kids to attend this camp and wanted a better experience for them. I hate to have to submit this but Racism is not the experience I was expecting. My daughter complaints were some of the same, feeling uncomfortable. She had issues with the food not being good, she described the eggs as powder eggs. Not sure if this is the case but both said the food was not good. They both complained about the dorms. They have too many students staying in the dorm without air conditioning. They stayed out til 10 at night due to no air in the dorms. She was so upset as the kids were being racist also to another child , possibly Muslim. Parents we must do better with teaching our children to be respectful, and kind. Pali you must do better with training your staff and talking to the kids about living with other people who don't look like you.. My son came home very tired and said mom allot of the boys in the dorm, as he explained they had melt downs daily and no one knew how to really help them. He felt there were no support for them. When you have children with behavioral concerns is it fair to have them in the room with my son who is sensitive to loud noises, screaming due to his hearing impairment? My son said being in the dorm with yelling constantly caused him to be very uncomfortable. Again, too many kids in one dorm. Another concern, my son was hit in the head with a paint ball, he said it hurt so bad and no ice or support was provided. My daughter said so many kids were being injured and not much help. I did not get any calls to notify me of the injury and the racist remarks. If I had I would came to pick My kids up. I am very disappointed with Pali Mountain Camp and would never recommend it to other parents. First of all, their website claims there are two full-time nurses on duty 24 hours a day. That is completely false. When my son attended, there was no nurse on duty at all. For a children's camp, this is a serious safety issue and very misleading to parents who are trusting the camp with their kids. On top of that, my son's backpack was stolen while he was there. For the amount of money families pay, the camp should at least provide better supervision and security for personal belongings. To make matters worse, I even sent a letter to my son during his stay and the camp never gave it to him. That was really upsetting, as it was important to me that he felt supported while away from home. Overall, between the false advertising, lack of medical care, poor supervision, and failure to deliver something as simple as a letter from home, this camp completely failed us. Parents deserve better, and kids deserve a safe and caring environment -- unfortunately, Pali Mountain Camp did not provide that. read more

Our son attended Pali this year for the first time. Due to scheduling, I dropped him off and his father picked him up; we both had seamless experiences. They were very organized! Campers are assigned to cabins, which looked newer and were very nice inside. They have a camp store (they sell clothing and water guns that you can purchase online before arrival and will be delivered at check-in) that can supply bedding for a fee; otherwise, they bring their own sleeping bag/sheets and a pillow. They can also bring a picture or two from home; our son did not want anything. Returning home today, our son looked very tired, but had a marvelous time, meeting new people and participating in loads of activities. Cell phones and such are not permitted, which worried me at first, but they can reach out to their camp counselor if they truly need to make a call. The camp uses an app (on iPhone and Androids) called Campanion, which uploaded pictures and videos from camp; it tags your child and those are set aside. It was nice to see him enjoying himself. There is also a letter function where you can send a letter, they will print and give to your camper at dinner, and if they decide to write back (our son did not ) you will receive the upload. Our son said the food was good, the counselors and fellow campers were nice, and that he would be happy to return next summer. read more

Our 8-year-old just returned from his first-ever sleepaway camp at Pali Adventure Camp; it was a game-changer for him! He went to the First Timers Camp the last week of the summer, which was perfect in many ways. He chose Motorsports as his specialty and loved dirt bikes and ATVs! Even though he went alone and didn't know any kids beforehand, he made friends quickly. He came home full of stories and skills and wants to return next summer for two weeks--one for Wacky Sports (so he can try everything at least once) and another for more Motorsports. The camp had this great app that helped me as a mom, especially since it was his first time away from us for a week. The app used facial recognition to send me photos of what he was up to throughout the day, which eased my mind. I couldn't contact him directly, but seeing him having a blast made all the difference. The staff were so friendly and went above and beyond. I forgot to pack a warm blanket and some warmer clothes, but when I called the camp, they assured me they would give him another blanket and that he got what he needed from the camp store. And speaking of the staff, the office team always answered the phone quickly, even at odd hours, and patiently answered my silly questions. Their support made the whole experience much easier for me as a first-time camp mom. They even invited us for a private tour months before our week of camp. The camp was small and cozy that last week, with a 1 to 3 or 4 counselor-to-kid ratio, so the kids got tons of attention. The counselors were welcoming and made the kids feel at home. Our son returned more confident and independent, and we could see how much he grew from this experience. I recommend Pali Adventure Camp if you're on the fence about sending your kid to sleepaway camp. It gave our son memories, confidence and new skills he'll carry into third grade. read more

My son just got back from his school trip and said he had the worst time here. Stated all of his planned activities felt very rushed (squid dissection, owl poop examination) and due to the constant need to ensure all of their groups campers were present - they were forced by staff to waste a lot of time being counted and were forced to sit around while the adults got organized and transitioned them to the next activity. They got snow during their stay and upon getting wet during the tree climbing adventure, they were not permitted to go back to the cabins to change into dry clothing and were forced to remain in wet clothes the remainder of the day. The workers offered to take their clothes to the camps dryers but brought them back more wet then when the group handed over their wet items!! The jacket was even wet when he just got home a few hours ago. I'm appalled they would do this to children. It was extremely cold up there this week and they just left them wet and uncomfortable. I do not recommend this place. My son wishes he would've opted not to go and just stayed at school. read more

Kid just returned from a 2 night 3 day adventure with her 7th grade classmates and paid around $400. Promised a coach bus but got a yellow bus going up there about 1.5 hrs away. So bumpy and 3 kids per seat. Kids were squeezed like sardines. Camp counselor was Loddy and compared to Emily in 5th grade not as interactive per my little one. Kids complain a lot so take this with a grain of salt. Food was mediocre with hot dogs and cardboard pizza. 10 kids in one cabin with one bathroom was not ideal so my kid chose not to shower. So she was ripe to bathe once she got home. Overall going with friends was fun for one time but could have skipped the 2nd time and didn't learn too much this time. I went there for 3 days for a field trip. During winter, in the cabins they have a heated floor so your feet can warm up and your wet clothes. The food was great, during dinner they served desserts! And every breakfast you get to come there with your pjs! We learned about owl pellets and about nature. We did rock climbing and obstacles, and zip lining! If you're going in the winter be sure to bring warm waterproof gloves, because when I was there it was freezing and I started crying because of the cold. And if you're worried about medication they have a medical center in the camp where at night you take your daily medicine. The place was great! definitely would go here again! read more

It pains me to have to write a review like this, especially for the parents who are already hesitant on sending their kids to overnight camp with their school, but I wish I had known more about this place before sending my son. A handful of his friends had altitude sickness and were denied care. Some of them were degraded by one of the counselors. When they got home from camp, most of the kids were visibly upset and told us how bad their experience was. I really hope they fix what is clearly broken because so many families are trusting them with their children and they failed terribly with so many of ours. read more

This is the second consecutive summer we sent our daughter to camp and it's been the best experience of her life: developing independence, learning useful skills (culinary, outdoor, social/emotional, etc) and making new friends. We get pictures, updates and know she is safe and happy This place is a well-oiled machine when it comes to dropping off and picking up. We had her there and into camp in 10 minutes; we had her picked up and in the car in 10 minutes. The counselors and staff are amazing, friendly and positive. Cannot say enough good things about this camp. Our twin boys went to camp for a week this summer and they came back telling us about all of their experiences and the new friends they made! The campers pick a "specialty" to spend the morning hours enjoying and then they pick 3 "electives" in the afternoon. They have about 30 specialties to choose from and even more electives! One of my boys picked the Flight Club as his specialty and got to go up in an actual helicopter! They flew over the Queen Mary in Long Beach. The counselors are all super friendly, helpful and enthusiastic about the kids and their jobs. This camp is def worth the money. We'll be doing again and again year after year! read more

My kids have built so many fond memories at Pali that will last a lifetime. I love the way they structure their specialties + electives so the kids have a core set of activities in the mornings and the freedom to choose their preferred activities in the afternoons. We will miss Pali when they age out! One thing I wanted to note based on the reviews below, because it is true that they try to encourage the kids not to call home (which I do understand): I, too, had a sensitive child when we first started and I was worried about her not being able to reach out to me. I made sure to speak to the director to let them know it was very important that she be permitted to call home if needed, and I made sure to tell them that I was letting my child know how to get that help if needed. Luckily we didn't have any issues and she was able to navigate everything just fine, but if you do have a highly sensitive child, I think it's a perfectly reasonable and helpful to set an overt plan so that everyone is on the same page, and even print out the correspondence with the director to give to your child if it's a specific concern. Again, both my kids loved it, and didn't come across those types of issues, but I thought it might be helpful to chime in about that. Hope your kids love it too!! read more

I just wanna start off by saying Circe, was extremely helpful and kind and was so supportive and informative. She helped pick out the best specialty for our son, and boy was she was right on! Definitely didn't disappoint. She is such a sweetheart. Our son, Wyatt did the rock start program and LOVED it!
