I had been fiddling with some components when a nut fell under the dryer, so I pulled the dryer out from the wall, ripping the duct in the process. I spent a little bit of time doing some DIY diagnosis, removing a couple pieces from the dryer and attempting to remove the dryer vent cover from the exterior of the house. After realizing that it was sealed onto the side of the house and not making much progress cutting through the caulk with a razor blade, I decided it was time to step back and not cause any further damage. Turned to Yelp, sent out a few rounds of quotes; a few hours later Alex showed up. He quoted me a flat rate that sounded good and went to work. Within two hours, he had removed the dryer duct and vent, bought replacement parts at Home Depot, and sealed everything back up. He set it up so that pulling the dryer away from the wall won't break the duct and also gave me easier access to the gas line. I was thrilled to get it all taken care of within a few hours on a Sunday afternoon since not being able to do laundry can be stressful (I still don't understand why my daughter only has one pair of socks for soccer practice). Alex was punctual, very nice, and understanding, not making me feel bad about my DIY efforts. Most importantly he fixed the issue quickly and made it clear that he would stand behind his work.
