I met Dr Sanchez on one of the worst days of my life. I tripped and broke my right ankle. This was right before quarantine for COVID started. He did the surgery to repair my ankle. I did go to a facility for inpatient physical therapy, but was released since I had someone living at home with me. I was on FMLA from my job. The visits to Dr Sanchez were always great. He was very informative about what I could do at home for PT. Things finally started opening, I called my job to tell them I could come back to work as long as I used the walker. They put me on furlough that day. 3 weeks later they called on a Wednesday and told me my job had been eliminated and my insurance would stop that Friday. I couldn't continue outpatient PT because I couldn't afford it. So along with a list they gave and instructions from Dr. Sanchez I was doing my PT on my own. It was finally time to go for a follow-up with Dr Sanchez. I called a few days before the appointment to see what I would have to pay since I no longer had insurance. When I got there they took the xrays and I waited for Dr Sanchez. He asked how I was doing and I told him the truth, I had lost my job and was paying for this appointment on my own. As he was checking out my ankle he said what if I don't charge you for this visit? Would that help you out? I said really? He said yes. He left the room told the girl up front while I was getting my shoe and sock back on. I was in tears. I couldn't hug him but I sure wanted to. After several years of being super pleased with a few podiatrists at Palm Beach Foot & Ankle, as well as the other employees, I tried a podiatrist new to me. While on the phone making the appointment I was momentarily (and foolishly!) hesitant to hear that the first available appointment would be with "a Dr. Etheredge", one of the physicians new to me. What a wonderful surprise I had when I arrived to meet a truly lovely woman, Dr. Kali Etheredge! Dr. E is kind, gentle, down to earth and informative. As do all the docs I've gotten to know at PB F&, she takes her time if only in order to be thorough. And the relaxed "taking time" thing - that's also in order to get to know her new patients. Dr. Etheredge also had a couple of suggestions as to how I could take better care of my feet which I thought was terrific and have implemented them whenever I remember through my post Covid fog. Here's another example of how down to earth Dr. Etheredge is. She was surprised in a good way by my response to a question about two calloused areas on each of my feet and the product I used that is so helpful. She wanted to be able to recommend it to others. We recently moved to the area and my wife fractured her foot after being here for two weeks. The ER at Jupiter Medical Center referred her to a podiatrist from Palm Beach Foot & Ankle for consultation. Subsequently, she saw the doctor in their office and ended up with surgery needing several rods and screws. The surgery and recovery went very smoothly with Doctor Alan Hartstein and his staff being very attentive and thorough. Pain was at a minimum considering the surgery. Highly recommended. Have been going here for a few years. The staff is great. Always very helpful, friendly, and professional. First Dr. Slater treated me and I had to have my middle toe amputated due to it developing sepsis. Dr. Slater did a great job as I wasn't in much pain afterward. About 6 months later, I started seeing Dr. Hartstein for a few issues. He's great with putting together a treatment plan and things progressed nicely. I have very bad feet that are problematic and Dr. Hartstein always takes a great course of action in regards to a treatment plan. He also has a great bedside manner.
