They're usually ready for me before I even sit down -- I've only waited more than two minutes twice, and honestly, that's because they were cleaning up from the previous patient. Efficiency and kindness -- a rare combo! Due to old injuries, comfort is a significant concern for me. Paulina and Thao always go the extra mile: a rolled towel under my lower back, a neck pillow, Vaseline for my lips, and sunglasses to protect my eyes from bright lights and overspray. That's not just service -- that's concierge-level dentistry. And then there's Dr. Thai Nong, the gentlest dentist on planet Earth. I tease him about fibbing -- he says, "You'll feel a little pinch," and I'm still waiting for it. Then he laughs and says, "I already did it." Either he's part magician or just that good. After years of less-than-ideal dental experiences, Dr. Nong and his team have completely transformed my perspective on dental care. His integrity, compassion, and precision are unmatched. I trust his advice implicitly -- so much so that when I chose a new insurance provider, I made sure his office was included. I've sung their praises to coworkers, church friends, and fraternity brothers -- anyone willing to listen. Having recently moved to Florida to start the next chapter of my life, it was imperative to find a new dentist to take care of my oral health. I stumbled upon Palm Landing Dental by chance, and decided to give them a try. They were accepting new patients, and the wait time to be seen was not long - I made an appointment and crossed my fingers that the dentist and staff would be just as kind, caring, and gentile as my previous dentist. I arrived at my new patient appointment, and was immediately taken back. Paulina was my X-Ray Technician, and she was super-friendly and talkative. She took MANY x-rays, and was very gentile throughout the process. Being a fairly new resident, I had some questions about the area - she was more than happy to share her experiences and give me some advice! How cool! I met with Dr Nong, and was very impressed. He was soft-spoken, gentile, and had an amazing bedside manner. He had one recommendation, and that work would be done, along with a cleaning, at a future appointment. A few weeks later, I was back to have a tooth restoration done, along with my cleaning. Dr Nong and his Dental Assistant, Karen, were AMAZING! I have had LOTS of dental work done, and I can honestly say that Dr Nong is one of the most gentile dentist's I've ever had work on my teeth. I usually need a bite block to hold my mouth open during work - Dr. Nong assured me I would not need one with him, and he was absolutely RIGHT.....he was super-patient and gentile! What an amazing experience! He made sure I was numb multiple times, and during the procedure (which was NOT rushed at all), constantly asked if I was doing okay. Following the dental work, I had a thorough cleaning by Thao, who was also amazingly friendly and gentile. She took her time with everything, and made me feel like I was her only patient that day. Going to the dentist is one of those necessary things that isn't necessarily "enjoyable." I can honestly say that the professionals at Palm Landing Dental DO their best to make your time with them as positive as possible. I lost a filling in a molar that was about 30 years old and called in for an appointment. They got me in the very next day and took several x-rays of the tooth. It was decided that it was infected and should be pulled. I was given a prescription for pennicilin to curb the infection and scheduled for a return visit the following week. The extraction was painless to my surprise, and I was given full followup instructions as well as a prescription for pain medication. Being a senior citizen who has been to several dentists, I can say that this was a pleasant experiance. Yesterday, I had over a thousand dollars of work done on my teeth. It was part of a plan that ends up totaling a little over four thousand dollars. Being an over the road truck driver, It's hard to schedule my appointments during my short time home. Today the plan was for my wife to drop me off on her way to drop off our two children at school. She had to stay for a field trip she was helping with. I was getting a root canal, two fillings and two extractions done. When I checked in, I was told that I was, unlike the day before, expected to pay up front. Something that would be fine if they would have told me yesterday. Now, I should have planned for the unexpected and put the money from my home account to the business account that I carry. So far both sides have made small mistakes. No big deal. I'll just call the wife and make sure she brings it with her when she picks me up. Man was I wrong! Even after I pointed out that I had nothing but a perfect pay history with them. Even after I informed them that my wife was on a field trip with my daughter and not only was I unable to get her to come and pay up front, but was also stranded there for the next five hours without a ride home, was callously told that there was nothing they could do. At that time, I asked for all my records and told them to forget any future business from me. During my two hour walk home, I asked myself how I would handle it if I was at a really good restaurant, Was consistently served really good food but, the waiter threw my plate in front of me rudely and told me that they didn't care if i went somewhere else. My answer, and most likely yours too, was that I wouldn't ever go there again. I think that Thai T. Nong is a skilled dentist and I am happy with the work he has done so far. But no matter how good you may be at your job, You still have to be a human being also. Shame on you Palm Landing Dental for forgetting that, While you are running a business, your business is supposed to be helping people. I don't know if you lost sight of that along the way or if you ever considered your patients as anything other than a product to be processed. I do know that there are other skilled dentist in and around Palm Coast, Florida. Maybe it's not too late to find one that still respects the "Dr." in front of his or her name. I also would like to say shame on you to anyone who doesn't pay a bill that he or she owes. This it the uncaring, money driven world you're helping to create. I'd like Palm Landing Dental to know that I understand they have to deal with that unfortunate problem from, what I'm sure is a growing number of people. Still, They made someone that put his trust in them, Who has always paid them on time, and who was there for help with a painful situation, turn around and walk miles back home without any treatment or compassion. What ever happened to the family dentist we used to know? The one that honestly cared about the job he or she was doing. Not just the business they were running. We needed a dentist after moving to the area. My daughter referred me to Palm Landing and as did her in laws. All had excellent service for their needs, including our grandchildren. I had an old crown come out a few days earlier and needed immediate attention. They fit me in and determined that the previous crown had a hole in it for some time and had caused the crown to fall off. The crown next to the lost one was also showing decay under the metal. Both had to be replaced. The X-rays were very clear in showing what Dr, Nong was explaining. As far as understanding the billing after the initial exam, a complete spread sheet was presented on the PC screen in the exam room. All charges were explained, the amount my insurance would pay deducted, and my portion required in plain view. I agreed with the service and we proceeded. The price never varied throughout the process. All those who worked on me were highly skilled and gentle handed. No pain issues. The words 'precise and polite' stood out to me. This never changed throughout the process in the days ahead. I am completely satisfied with their work and service and have recommended them as such. read more

I went to this Dentist for a cleaning and exam. The exam was first which included x-rays. When the Dentist examined my teeth he (through the hygienist) told me my teeth look good except one of my bridges had decay under it. I was then told he could cut it off and fix the decay and have a new bridge made. At the cost of around $ 2,800.00 (barring no other problems, root canal, etc). I ask why not remove the bridge, repair the tooth and put it back? I was then told, you do not do that... Interesting because I had a bridge become loose 14 years ago and another dentist removed both my bridges, inspected the teeth and put them back on... Therefore I knew there was an alternative. I looked online till I found a dentist (relatively close) that removed my bridge and found no decay. He cleaned the two teeth, cleaned the bridge and re cemented it. Did I mention at a tenth of the cost. The main points here are there was no decay, if the bridge is cut off it is no putting it back, and it is a proven practice to re cement bridges when possible..
