School employees are entrusted with the responsibility to take reasonable and appropriate action when a student's safety is threatened. A failure to act during a violent incident may constitute negligence and raises serious concerns regarding staff training, supervision, compliance with district policy, and adherence to mandated student safety protocols. Equally troubling is the reported failure to provide assistance or support to the student following the attack. The apparent lack of intervention and post-incident response demonstrates a disregard for student welfare that cannot be overlooked. Given the seriousness of this matter, I respectfully request that the district conduct an immediate and thorough investigation into the incident, including a review of any surveillance footage, witness statements, staff conduct, and compliance with district safety procedures. I also request clarification regarding what corrective actions, disciplinary measures, and policy reviews will be implemented to ensure that students are properly protected moving forward. Parents and students must be able to trust that school personnel will act swiftly and responsibly when a child is in danger. Any failure to do so undermines confidence in the district's commitment to student safety and exposes the district to potential legal liability.
