This review should be a zero...my fiance went in for a check up and was pushed for a deep cleaning…read morethat he didnt need!! Cleanings are paid by his insurance but deep cleanings are much more costly and not covered ..Beware..this is a common scam that dentists use to make more money.. If you dont believe this look it up..he does not have gum disease so this was not necessary and they KNEW his insurance would not cover this..The dentist is dr Maru .. This is a disgrace to do this to people..Unfortunatley alot of people are just not aware of these scams..Dont let them do this to you..If you have gum disease its a different story, but they want to do this to people without gum disease so they can make xtra money!! BEWARE

I went in for a routine checkup with no issues or pain and was told a filling Dr. Porath had done…read moretwo years previously had cracked and needed to be fixed. I have had around 10 fillings in my life and none had ever cracked until this point, but I scheduled an appointment to have it repaired. My appointment was late on a Friday and had to be one of the last appointments of the week. While he was working Dr. Porath spoke with the dental hygienist about all the skiing he was looking forward to doing that weekend. When he finished I thought it was great, it was the quickest filling I have ever had done. A few days later my tooth was still in pain, but I decided to give it some time to heal just in case. A month went by and my tooth was still in pain. I am unable to chew on that side of my mouth and even room temperature water is very painful if it touches where the work was done. I went back in for an emergency appointment and was told that the work had caused nerve damage and now I either have to have a false tooth put in or the nerve needs to be removed by a specialist. Dr. Porath created both a physical and financial burden that I am now stuck with addressing...or living with. No apology or offer of free dental work to fix the problem was offered. I will seek a second opinion from another dentist and will not be returning to Midwest Dental. At this point I wouldn't let Dr. Porath brush my teeth.
