It was basic customer service which is lacking at this store. My own experience: I called with some questions about supplies I needed for a party and the man who answered the phone was super abrupt with me and said he was too busy to answer my questions and then hung up. My husband and I are expecting our first child and ordered our Gender Reveal cake from Sophisticakes. I reached out to about 10 bakers in the Charleston area and Denicia was quick to respond, professional, polite, courteous, and reasonably priced so I decided to order through her and I'm so glad I did! Firstly, her professionalism is outstanding and it's clear she cares about her customers. She went above and beyond to ensure we were satisfied. I sent her five pictures of gender reveal cakes, all of them different, and she created her own masterpiece just for us and it was more beautiful than anything I sent her originally! Additionally, she allowed me to select two fillings at no additional charge! Secondly, she was incredibly accommodating. Our DNA test results came in several days earlier than expected. Denicia did not hesitate to create the cake for us a full two days earlier than originally planned and at no additional cost. Last but certainly not least, both the presentation of the cake and the flavor were a 10/10! Beautiful cakes don't always taste good, but we were licking our fingers with this one! The vanilla cake was dyed a lovely blue since our baby is a boy and the cake itself was dense, moist, and delicious. I hired this company for my son's 8th birthday party. The owner was very kind and responsive on…read morethe phone. They showed up on time. However, the employee was not prepared for the full party. They only had enough guns for 6 kids at a time. I knew they would have to switch kids in and out, but the website makes it seem like 10 kids can play at a time. They also ran out of ammo before 60 minutes of the 90 minute playtime advertised. When we asked the employee about this, he said that we started playing before the party started. This is true - the adults and party boy tried the guns before the party started by about 10 - 15 minutes; however, the 60 minutes I am referring to, did take that into account. The kids got to play for a total of about 50 minutes and I had to step in more than once to make sure that kids were taking turns and alternating play. The kids had fun and it is a great idea for a party; but I was a bit disappointed in the actual execution and the lack of response from the employee running the party. Additionally, since we were the 2nd party of the day, the guns were not all fully charged. We also only had 5 bunkers. If I had known how this would have unfolded, I would have just ordered the guns, ammo, and bunkers online for less than the party and run it myself.

Our friends made their own versions of decorative signs too. They have tons of examples online, but even more things in store. If you have an idea for something you don't see online, they can probably make it happen. There were a couple people finishing up when we arrived but once they were done we had the place to ourselves. Maryann guided us through the process and gave pointers, but wouldn't just take over. She really wanted our projects to be our own. We all had a great time and would definitely come back for another project in the future. It's a great group activity too.
