It caused damage to the ceiling around the chimney. The sheetrock bubbled up and water was dripping down. Antonio came and got up on the roof and ran a hose and he could see the water pouring in. He sent someone to caulk around the chimney. It was understood that he would fix the interior damage. We waited to test with windy rainstorms to make sure the caulk worked. Roll the clock forward - we called a couple times to get the interior work done and finally got to speak with Antonio. He is insisting that the interior damage was always there - before he put the roof on. He is basically calling us liars. He also said that he does not fix interior damage. He only fixes the roof if there is something wrong. So if the flashing they installed did caused leaking and damage due to an error in their work, you are out of luck. We did probably wait too long before pushing the issue. I would understand if he said too much time had elapsed, but instead, he proceeded to argue with us that the damage was already inside before the roof and flashing job. Shame on him.

Their bid came in about the same as my middle-of-the-road general contractor. The big difference - Hilton Head Decks and Tiki Huts will pull permits every step on the way - all done to code; they used a backhoe to dig out the dirt and prep the ground; marine grade wood for framing; meticulous construction, no cutting corners, finest materials (nothing from Home Depot for example). I had a change order and delayed the project, no problem. I think the new deck will outlast my house! Johan is the friendly owner, and he gets his hands dirty, crew is hard-working and polite. If you reach out and he doesn't call back right away - TRY AGAIN as he is often on site and they are busy, but so worth it.

That's three times an obligation was not met to repair my roof. My calls and voicemails were unanswered and not replied to and I was not kept up to date when the date mentioned did not work for them. I finally received a call (after submitting a complaint to BBB) telling me they would not be able to repair my roof because they're too busy. Meanwhile, my roof has been leaking two months without repair waiting for these guys. I would've preferred someone tell me two months ago that they were booked and wouldn't be able to repair my roof. That would've been acceptable and highly appreciated. Thanks for wasting my time, Ragsdale.
