This place really disappointed me on Saturday when I went for the first time attracted by the charming look and the good reviews. Gnocchi alla sorrentina were ok but dramatically overpriced. It is one of the cheapest and easiest to make dishes of the Italian cusine: price at Palo Alto €17. But this is not the worst part (and indeed I knew it as the price was on the menu). What really felt like a fraud was the price of the wine. We took the Neleman "Just fucking good wine". Its market price is €6 so we expected to be charged something around €15-16 and went for 2 bottles. Turns out Palo Alto sells these cheap bottles at €36 each. The problem with that is that if you spend this amount for a wine, you expect, taking into account the profit a restaurant makes, at least a €20 worth bottle. But this really was not the case. read more
