Joey was so great with my son and explained everything he was doing. Calm, funny, patient--and gave him the best haircut he's ever had. Great blending, all straight lines. Not always the easiest feat on an energetic kid. So pleased with this place and the excellent service received--exceeded expectations. This shop will be my go-to for any boy's cuts from now on.

Rather than him getting a fade it was a 1 all the way up. I didn't worry much at the time, as the wedding we are in is still 2 weeks away. Anyways she gets done with my 2 year old and I asked her to clean up my one year old. That consisted of trimming the hair around his ears and in the back (took all of 1-2 minutes). After a tip the total was 30$. I thought it was rather pricy considering they are 2 and under. Anyways. I didn't notice how bad his cut was until I got home and styled it. So like I said at the beginning of the post I did not call and just fixed it the best I could on my own. If this is all you do, and the price is that high, they should be amazing at fades and men's/boys haircuts.

Sometimes a first cutting is not all you planned however getting the cut exactly how you want it, first visit can be a challenge for any barber. Just let your barber know and adjustments will be made. I have been happy with my haircuts from the get go. I also agree with Robert J. Fast, friendly, very affordable and never a long wait. Here is the best part. There are often friends and neighbors in the shop who are not there for a hair cut but to socialize with each other. Reminds me so much of my youth growing up in the small town of Yreka where our best friends ran the only barber shop. Think "Mayberry" and you'll understand. It was very well worth the 26 mile round-trip from Redding for the experience and the haircut. If you like authentic barber chairs, good conversation, authentic small-town feel in vintage barber shop building from the 1800's, then you'll love Woody's place! Jennifer did a fantastic job cutting my hair. There was no waiting when I arrived, but, given the conversational atmosphere, I would have gladly waited. I just found my all-time favorite barber shop and look forward to the my next visit!
