This is a pretty cool place to spend an hour or two while visiting Petrópolis. It's an old hotel, and walking through it you could easily imagine the luxury and grandeur that it once had. Now it's a bit run down but the first floor is very well maintained.
There's a bowling alley, an ice skating rink (closed when I went), lots of rooms with history, and a play room for adults and kids. The play room has badminton, checkers, dance dance revolution, a trampoline, etc - all free.
Overall it's a good place to go and imagine how life used to be there. Although you might walk away feeling a bit melancholy, it's definitely worth it. read more
