However, she gives endless homework that I did not have time to complete before each session. She also recommends a book to read each session. Later on, I was told that I didn't seem to be a responsible adult for not having enough motivation and energy. She made a comment "sleeping too much is not what a responsible adult should be doing". Obviously, she does not know what clinical depression feels like. This is not how a professional therapist acts. She needs to be more in tune with patients and not make them feel crazy or weird. I went to her for a few months because I had already started the sessions and didn't want to start over from scratch. However, I am glad she told me she does not take my insurance anymore. I feel like she merely said this because she cannot handle stress or difficult cases. I would NOT recommend her. I am glad I have finally found a great therapist that understands me and can actually give me the tools to make positive changes.

I'm certain I would not be the happy and confident woman I am now had I not chosen her as my therapist. She's very easy to talk to and made me feel very comfortable from day 1. Even days I think I'm over thinking things, she always has the right thing to say to help center & guide me. I have personally recommended her to several people I know. If you're looking for a great therapist, she's your gal!

She's been divorced so to her it's not a big deal just a life event that she would like to get paid for to help you through it. PLEASE avoid this therapist she can be very biased. Spend your money elsewhere and with someone who actually wants to save a family not destroy it. Also it seems that most reputable marriage therapists won't even deal with a couple if there is a third person involved. My advice is to do your research and find a therapist that is right for you and your family. I actually deleted my honest review (above) because Dr Julie threatened me with legal action, as I have had time to consider this I have decided that being honest on yelp is not a crime. It's actually encouraged and what yelp reviews are about. You may not agree with what I have to say and that's okay, but it's my personal opinion and I am free to share it. Maybe Dr Julie will be amazing for you, she just wasn't for me, my kids, or my friends or our families. Please read the article I have linked below. Hopefully it will help you. https://www.dailystrength.org/group/infidelity/discussion/when-a-man-leaves-a-woman-offra-gerstien-phd

Dr. Cherry is a con artist. Several years ago, my roommate (who did not have a car, so I was…read moredriving him to appointments) went to her in order to receive a letter for hormone replacement therapy. In the beginning, Dr. Cherry assured us that she took my roommate's insurance. With insurance, he was paying a $20 co-pay per appointment, and he needed 12 sessions in order to receive the letter he needed. There were two appointments where Dr. Cherry never showed up, and one occasion upon which she changed locations without notifying us. On each of these occasions, we called several times, trying to get ahold of her to find out what was going on, and never received any communication until hours later. She never apologized or took responsibility for these instances. After the 12th appointment, my roommate was notified by Dr. Cherry that, oops! She never took his insurance after all! He received a bill for over one thousand dollars, along with a note that she would not be writing his letter for HRT until after the bill was paid. We told her that we would, under no circumstances, be paying that bill, so of course, roommate never received his letter for HRT and had to start over from square one. If Dr. Cherry had truly made a mistake in thinking she accepted certain insurance, that would be HER responsibility, not my roommate's, and the responsible thing to do would have been to provide the letter and chalk the experience up to a lesson on her part. But the fact that it took her nearly six months to "realize" this, and withheld the letter until we paid her a large sum of money, shows to me that she is simply a mean-spirited con artist looking to take advantage of her patients. DO NOT see this woman under any circumstance.

In addition, her billing is messed up, she's changed billing services more than once in a short time, my son was charged for a visit that didn't happen, and without consent, charged my HSA card plus doubled billed earlier in the year. Trying to communicate with her is difficult.
