She has EXCEPTIONAL customer service, COMPASSION beyond belief, and her ability to communicate next to none. I had called the officer several times I spoke with Karen, Karen must be unhappy working here because she did not want to help me, she placed me on hold several times, disconnected me several times and upon call back I explained what happened and she was able to help me all of a sudden after asking me to hold yet again. I explained I didn't mind holding as I am sure they are busy but I had been put through to a voicemail and the disconnected and had waited a little while to call back thinking they were busy. She reluctantly took my call and made it difficult to schedule. I called back in the morning and spoke to another lady who advised me after I gave Karen all of my info she did my input into the system and it would push back getting authorization from my insurance company therefore pushing my MRI out another day, I had a stat order and needed a 3T machine. Adrienne was the person I got in the afternoon and I am so lucky I did she showed empathy to what happened to me apologized even though it wasn't her fault at all and she made things happen, mostly , she made me feel heard. Each time, I only learned of the cancellation after arriving at the office. This morning was no exception. I had taken time off work and completed the required fasting, only to be told at check‑in that the appointment had been cancelled. The disruption is significant, and the lack of communication is unacceptable. After the third cancellation, I emailed the office to express how difficult and costly these last‑minute surprises have been. No one ever responded. I have continued using this facility because the copay is lower than at hospital‑affiliated outpatient centers, but the repeated failures in communication and scheduling have made it clear that reliability is not a priority here. At this point, I would rather pay a higher copay elsewhere than continue dealing with an operation that shows so little regard for patients' time and preparation. My report initially contained a confirmed processing error. After I pointed it out, they "reanalyzed" the same scan and uploaded corrected results -- but the numbers for the exact same scan date (October 26, 2025) are different between the old and new reports. This includes different body fat percentages and lean mass values for the same scan, which should never happen. Despite this, they insist the updated results are "accurate" and refused to offer a complimentary rescan. What's more frustrating is that when I asked for clear validation (what exactly went wrong, what changed, and why the two reports still show different data), they avoided directly answering the most important question: why the same scan still produces conflicting results across reports. That lack of transparency is unacceptable. If a company cannot guarantee consistent results from the same scan, then the reliability of their entire service is questionable. I rely on these scans to track real progress, and this experience has completely undermined my confidence in their data. Reply to BodySpec: Once again, I want to re-emphasize that you've changed the results for the same scan THREE times!! Imagine if I had trusted your data from the beginning and never contacted your team to look into it -- I would have been relying on the wrong data. What's the point of doing the scan if the data is incorrect? All I'm asking is for you to compensate for YOUR MISTAKE by allowing me to have a complimentary rescan, and I'll let this go. But even OTF is upfront about the fact that the DexaScan is the most accurate measurement tool. So I wanted to sign up for a DexaScan to get a baseline measurement of my physical state. They have many different packages, but I just went with the 2 scans per quarter (3 months) for $79.95, which comes out to about $40/scan and seems reasonable. Signup is easy, all done online via their website. You choose a date and ~15 minute window and just show up a few minutes early. The parking is easy, with plenty of spots in the lot behind the building. There are two semi-walled off "rooms" where the machines are located, one in each. It's basically a giant table and an x-ray machine. You lay on it for about 8 minutes and it's done. The guy who did my scan, Juan, made sure to wipe down and disinfect the surfaces before it was my turn. And my results were emailed to me within 10 minutes of completing the scan. All results are saved in your online BodySpec profile. I'll be back in a few months time to see if I've improved!

My MRI finally took place at 7:30 am. Afterwords, I noticed imaging hadn't been sent to my orthopedist and I hadn't received any detail about the imaging in over 2 weeks. When I called, the representative told me I had to go into the clinic, request imaging and wait 30 min OR my doctor could fill out a form for imaging and it would take 30 days for them to get the information. None of this was communicated or stated in the mountains of paperwork I filled out, no one at the clinic made this clear or even said anything about how/when my orthopedist could get the results. Seems you get what you pay for. I should've paid more money to get better service and faster results from a reputable hospital like Stanford. I never would've known any of this had I not called and therefore Castro Valley Open MRI just keeps your money and your records and does nothing else to help you as a patient. I'll definitely never go here for imaging again.
