Meaning that if you overpay, it will be on you to sort it out with their billing office and your insurance. I've never encountered this kind of billing process before and found it to be really unprofessional and very stressful/frustrating. Luckily I have the ability to call my insurer beforehand to get clarity on what exactly the co-insurance amount would be, but for most people, this wouldn't be the case. As a result, an already stressful experience (because who gets a scan for any reason other than something might be wrong/abnormal internally?) becomes more of a headache/pain and for no good reason. Poor care and confusing processes complicating an already broken system, meaning those with the most needs struggle even more to get the services they need. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars and not one is because the actual imaging process was fine and the technician was good. But the front desk staff/the office staff sure could use more work/customer service skills, not to mention have a little more empathy for their patients. After I pointed it out, they "reanalyzed" the same scan and uploaded corrected results -- but the numbers for the exact same scan date (October 26, 2025) are different between the old and new reports. Despite this, they insist the updated results are "accurate" and refused to offer a complimentary rescan. What's more frustrating is that when I asked for clear validation (what exactly went wrong, what changed, and why the two reports still show different data), they avoided directly answering the most important question: why the same scan still produces conflicting results across reports. That lack of transparency is unacceptable. If a company cannot guarantee consistent results from the same scan, then the reliability of their entire service is questionable. I rely on these scans to track real progress, and this experience has completely undermined my confidence in their data. Reply to BodySpec: Once again, I want to re-emphasize that you've changed the results for the same scan THREE times!! Imagine if I had trusted your data from the beginning and never contacted your team to look into it -- I would have been relying on the wrong data. What's the point of doing the scan if the data is incorrect? All I'm asking is for you to compensate for YOUR MISTAKE by allowing me to have a complimentary rescan, and I'll let this go. When I called, the representative told me I had to go into the clinic, request imaging and wait 30 min OR my doctor could fill out a form for imaging and it would take 30 days for them to get the information. None of this was communicated or stated in the mountains of paperwork I filled out, no one at the clinic made this clear or even said anything about how/when my orthopedist could get the results. Seems you get what you pay for. I should've paid more money to get better service and faster results from a reputable hospital like Stanford. I never would've known any of this had I not called and therefore Castro Valley Open MRI just keeps your money and your records and does nothing else to help you as a patient. I'll definitely never go here for imaging again.

I called the facility again and they scheduled me for another mra. They canceled the day of because the equipment was broken. They rescheduled me again in a few days. They called later that evening and when I got disconnected for a second time, I found out that they just cancelled me because they double booked me. All in all, my care has been delayed about a month. I had a Cva in July and this is the final exam that I need performed before I can move on with my care, but because of the lack of efficiency, I've been in limbo waiting to see why I had a stroke. In the meantime, costs have been adding up because I've had doctors visit where I couldn't be seen, I've given up work shifts, arranged for baby sitters, etc, for exams they just cancelled without caring. The worst part is that I can't even reach the office to talk with the office manager. Everything goes thru a call center.

So we arrived here around 5 pm, and a security guard brought a wheelchair out to the car and wheeled her into the Emergency Department. That's what I call service! Then we went to check in which took longer than expected as there was a glitch in the system but luckily the waiting room only had about less than 10 people. Finally the glitch was fixed and my sister went in to see the nurse who asked her various questions, then she brought us into a room and the nurses came in to ask her more questions and then we met one of the ER doctors, Dr. Wu and he explained what was going to happen. My sister was going to get a CT scan and xray for her injuries as well as blood work, then they gave her IV of fluids and Tylenol for the pain. A nurse came to pick her up for the CT scan which only took a few minutes, then someone else came and did the xray. The staff was friendly, sympathetic and efficient. We had to wait at least 1 hour for the test results and luckily I brought some snacks as we got hungry waiting. My sister even joked about not having a tv in the room to occupy our time. One nurse mentioned that other ER's do have tv in the emergency rooms for their patients but I guess Kaiser has not upgraded to that. After all is said and done, my sister got release around 8:45 pm as her blood pressure went back to normal and her test results were good after Dr. Wu came into the room to tell us the good news.
