We ordered the croquettes and burrata. The croquettes were nicely crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The burrata was fresh and came with tomato, olives, and some arugula. For the main dishes we both had steak. I went with the sirloin and my friend went with the skirt steak. Both were cooked perfectly and tender. The servers spoke English which greatly helped with the wonderful experience we had for dinner. The meal was decently priced.

As I sat down, another guy who worked nearby grabbed a seat at the next table and declared that this was some of the best steak in Barcelona. He even said he'd buy meat raw from this place and take it home to cook it. Hell of a recommendation. I ordered the solomillo (sirloin) "poco hecho," which I guess is supposed to be medium rare. The steak was more raw than that, but I didn't care. It was tender and juicy and flavorful. The salt on my platter provided a little extra punch whenever I needed it. The steak came with half a potato, but, unaware of that, I also ordered patatas bravas. Really not the best patatas bravas I've had in Spain, but it's easy to forgive that. The local I spoke to said he recommended the lomo alto, so I'll try that next time. If you want a killer high-quality steak prepared with love, you can get it at La Tavernícola. And as a bonus, it came out quite fast. I'll be back.

We decided to do a more upscale experience when my in-laws flew in to show them the food scene in Barcelona and this did not disappoint. We had a reservation for 8pm and arrived just beforehand. We were seated in the back of the cellar, which created an intimate yet unique experience. We were greeted by Max, who was kind and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered drinks to start - which consisted of some old fashions and sangria's. Highly recommend! For appetizers, we ordered the duck salad and the octopus. Honestly, both were absolutely fabulous. The octopus was made to perfection and the duck was tender and delicious. We ordered some steaks - medium rare and the lambchops. All things were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this establishment when visiting Barcelona for a nice and romantic dinner.

Gorgeous Cave-Like setting right in the heart of The Gothic Quarter. For food we got: - both Peach and Red Sangria's - maybe the best in Spain. 15 Euros so not cheap - Pan Con Tomate - first time having this dish -- great, - Iberian "Pluma" Acorn Fed Pork - so tender and amazing! - Cod (Bacalao) - perfectly baked I must give a shout out to our amazing waiter LUCAS who spoke excellent english and gave some perfect recommendations. We got here at 7:30 and it was quiet -- but quickly filled up and was totally full by 8:30. It's more expensive than most restaurants but for that you get quality service, superb food, linen napkins, and soft jazz music. We wanted to come again the next night but it was totally booked! Trip Advisor rates this as #57 (as of May 2026) but I think it should be in the top 10. Book a table early guys -- this restaurant will not disappoint you!

Here, the "buns" of the arepas are dyed colored coded to go with the specific mix you order. Sifrina = bright magenta pink sandwich pocket. Pretty freaking sweet! Wanted to point out Venezuela has its own unique version of guacamole, affectionately called Guasacaca. El Rincon carries on this tradition, and I'm so glad I was able to experience it. I met the owner, one of the very few workers that spoke English, and he explained the make up of this tasty condiment - onion, cilantro, green pepper, salt, garlic, avocado, a little bit of olive oil, and vinegar. EXCELLENT atop my arepa! The entire sandwich melded perfectly, sweet, salty and savory in every bite. The owner gentleman did a great job checking in, the service was fast and efficient, and I never felt rushed. I was really digging the vibe of this eatery, as it seemed to be a true neighborhood spot. All the locals inside, none of the touristy appeal. I recommend if you like Venezuelan food to give this restaurant a try!
