We have had such a pleasant and positive experience at NAH Minocqua. From the front desk team to…read morethe doctors and nurses, we feel extremely taken care of. The entire team is professional and knowledgeable. We have endured incredible hardships with our oldest dog, she was paralyzed by a vaccine and we went to great lengths while living in Chicago to get her back to walking. Now that we live up north, the team at NAH is very aware of her past medical history and takes extra precautions with our girl. We also recently added two more dogs to the mix, so we happily have all the pups under one roof for their medical needs. We have used their boarding services, surgical services as well as emergency and routine medical services. All of which have been positive & met our expectations. The clinic is extremely responsive and communicates with tremendous compassion & vast knowledge. Overall, I have a deep respect for veterinary professionals. Dr. Chelsea has been, and is, one of favorites. More importantly she is one of our pets' favorites. She is the only one who can "cat whisper" our oldest cat calm enough to allow a blood draw without sedation. She is professional, dependable and polite. Being a former vet tech myself I can say without reservation she is competent.

My Devon Rex was never really examined. Symptom was treated but came back. Mentioned concern about her left eye on the 2nd visit. The Dr was right in front of my cat and never even looked at it. Asked me if the discharge was clear. Stated the steroids would clear it up. Turns out that side of her face was hiding a secret...cancer (which the vet in Ashland saw right away). Called again told couldn't see her. So, emergency forget it. This was a work day. Bet a dog emergency would have gotten in. Next day I took my cat to Ashland and she had to be put to sleep. End result may have been the same but more could have been done for her. Brought in a cat experiencing diarrhea and just over a month later she is dead. My family and my other cats are devastated. Needless to say I will take my other cats somewhere that actually examines them and cares about them.

The tour is mostly birds. But they were fun to learn about. Wear bug spray or you'll be eaten alive! We were able to see the injured deer on camera & watch a baby squirrel feeding in the nursery through the glass window! Inside they had some snakes & turtles. But my girls LOVED the little craft area! It was the perfect activity for a rainy day!

But now there is yelp so I can say "Hey this place is great" for all the internet world to see. But for what its worth this place is really great. The women who was working in the front when you walked in was super kind. She looked up time for a show nearby for my father and was just all around awesome. Our tour guide was very informative the birds were beautiful. They had a tv screen set up to view there fawns unfortantley we came at lunch time so we didn't get to see the little npbabies but hey they're animals and animals do what they want.
