I had gotten tired of my knives cutting more like spoons than anything else and decided that it was time to have them professionally sharpened. Enter Walter & Patti from Pan Handler's. One day later, I was slicing like an Itamae and found myself cutting every piece of citrus in my kitchen out of the sheer joy of it. No more smushing or sawing through food. If you haven't had your kitchen knives professionally sharpened, you don't know what you're missing. The cost was reasonable, the turnaround was lightning fast, the results were mind-blowing, and they are super knowledgeable and truly friendly people. What more can you ask for? Love 'em! read more

I just wanted to write to say how in love I am with my knives again!!! I've had them for almost 10 years so they've served me well throughout the years. My mother (a culinary trained chef) is coming in town for the holidays so I knew I needed to have my kitchen in order. Patti and Walter responded to our request so quickly and offered services the very next day. I dropped off my knives in the morning and had them back in the afternoon. They are very very very sharp and sliced through dinner like they were brand spanking new. Thank you and we will most certainly use you again in the future. read more

I just had all of my knives sharpened by Pan Handler's and I couldn't be happier. Not only do I feel like a professional chef now but having sharp knives makes chopping and prepping so much fun! Mr. sharp is so convenient and did such a great job on 13 knives I brought to him plus a hedge clipper! Be careful though! They are sharp, and I cut myself (nothing fatal) almost immediately. I picked up some info and his prices were very reasonable. He recommended people get them done more often as they can damage them if doing it incorrectly (like I did). Naturally the once dull blades now sliced through paper (he pulled some out) and leaves of grass, like the infamous Vorpal blade through the Jabberwock! Fantastic! I highly recommend this service.

He takes your knives, and texts you when they're done. My high-carbon Sabatier and Henckel knives are beautifully sharp, as is my lawnmower. We'll be calling him back every year, I think. I spoke to Jim on the phone to book the service, and he was really friendly and helpful. He said his wife Rose would be in touch with a quote after I texted some pictures of the room. I don't know who I was texting with in the end. They quoted me $100. The two workers arrived right on time, were very polite, and did a beautiful job! However, they spoke no English and used a phone app to communicate. (You speak into the phone, they read the Portuguese that's generated, then they speak into the phone and it spits out English. Who knows how accurate it is.) I lived in a foreign country for 6 years and while I wasn't fluent, I had some proficiency in the language... admittedly I worked in an industry where people spoke English, but for day-to-day things I was glad I could read and handle basic conversations. (This was pre-smart phone.) I'd love to hire Rose's Cleaning for their organizing service, but can't imagine how you'd do that with someone you couldn't talk to. They get good reviews for that, so maybe I'll try it. I'm skeptical but interested. If all you need is cleaning it probably doesn't matter that no one can speak to each other without a phone translator. Their work was beautiful and they were punctual and polite. All of that is great.

They got me in right away (when I called back the 2nd time to book, they came the same day!). Two nice guys showed up, were here for about 30 minutes, and cleaned the vent. I asked them to take pictures since the work was done in the attic, and I didn't go up there (see attached pics). We had not had them cleaned in about 4 years, and they needed it! On their way out, they quoted me to clean our HVAC vents, which I had not even thought of doing. I will definitely use them again.
