DINE IN DURING PANDEMIC…read more One way in, one way out, mask/face shield/temp/alcohol hand wash/questionnaire mandatory when walk in. Most patrons and workers wore only masks. Staff are friendly and shout greetings as you enter. They're hardworking, efficient and you can ask any one of them for assistance. You order at the counter then they bring the food to your table. Many menu items are not available, so ask before ordering to prevent disappointment. After ordering we chose to sit at the table furthest away and most isolated from the others. There was a screen and a fan facing away from us: hubby said it was to blow the Covid germs the other direction HAHA! They have a nice, spacious dining area with comfortable seating both inside and outside. We ordered the sausage breakfast. The "toast" was very pale, next time I'll have to tell them "well done". Other than the toast, breakfast here is always a solid choice. Because of the pandemic we rarely go out, so to celebrate we had the Tiramisu Macaron and Affogato for dessert. The ice cream in the Affogato was too sweet for me to eat by itself; but it balanced perfectly when paired with the bitterness of the coffee, not bad. The macaron, on the other hand, was meh. I'm sure it would have tasted much better fresh from the bakery; but the macaron was already stale. I'm sure we'll be back when we're in the area. Pie lady is located toward the back of the Arena plaza, they're open early when most eateries in the area are still closed. They're not busy in the mornings during the week. There's lively jazz music playing, the Hallmark channel on the TV, free WiFi, and a couple of tables outside. Staff is friendly and speaks English. WE'VE TRIED: -Eggs made perfectly, hash browns crispy outside but mushy on the inside -Tocino breakfast comes with 2 pancakes, can request for garlic rice. This was ok. - Pancakes thick and dense, reminds me of the soufflé pancakes I had in Canada: not my cup of tea. I like my pancakes light and fluffy with a slight crispness to the edge. -Bacon burger with fries was ok, hubby liked it more than me. -Chocolate cookie is good: soft and crumbly. They make it in house. -Apple pie ala mode-needed more cinnamon and sugar. Ice cream tasted like it had tons of butter in it bleh! The food & desserts are made fresh in house. They have a strong ac and free WiFi. We would come back to try more things from their menu.

In addition some of the most delicious home made pies and cakes in town. And they serve a good coffee or espresso to go with it. Pies and Cakes go for 80-160 Pesos, or $1.60 to $3.00 approximately. They don't have a web site which is a shame so this is what I remember I saw on the dessert side. Banana raisin, Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal raisin cookies Peach mango, Apple, Chocolate, Cherry, Pecan, Pumpkin pie German Chocolate. Carrot cake and Blueberry cheesecake Brownies I had the German Chocolate cake and it's real good, the only difference to the American styles is the chocolate frosting on the sides, I was picking the crumbs from the plate afterwards. They have a good pasta plates and I can vouch for the Shrimp and Carbonara. They also served buggers and fires, and your typical eggs, bacon, hash browns. or pancakes all with toast, butter, or jam for breakfast.

AMERICAN THANKSGIVING PANDEMIC STYLE…read more I called around to see where the best deal on a Thanksgiving meal was: American Legion 123 in Balibago was the winner. Anticipating a crowd, hubby and I went early (9:30am) and had planned for take out. Luckily for us, the indoor dining room had only one other customer, so we decided to stay. Masks are mandatory for entrance. We were greeted warmly by the vivacious masked staff, temps taken, we registered in their log book and sanitized our hands. We sat down at a table with a plastic screen in between us, right in front of their widescreen tv, which was set to the American Forces Network channel. Oldies were playing on the radio, WiFi was strong, as well as the aircon. I overheard one of the staff say that they had a lot of take out orders. When I emailed prior to find out if they were offering a Thanksgiving meal, they mentioned that they will serve it until their supply runs out. MEAL INCLUDED - Turkey - meat tender but bland, gravy bland until I added salt and pepper. The turkey with the pumped up gravy, cranberry sauce and stuffing was a delicious bite. - Ham topped with a pineapple segment - thick slice that's tender with decent flavor - Stuffing had great flavor but was on the mushy side - sweet potatoes were ok - Vegetable mix was standard from frozen imo. - roll was soft and fluffy - Sweet potato pie was DELISH, so much more better than their Pumpkin pie. Decent American Thanksgiving meal at a decent price.

*Don't eat here if you'll be dining outside*…read more My family has been eating here since they opened because the food especially their aged beef is really good and always high quality. But today was honestly disappointing. We ate around 5PM with my lola, my younger sister, and my dog. I understand that pets are only allowed outside, and that's fine. I'm used to that setup. But the outdoor area today had so many flies around 20 or more, not exaggerating. We asked for candles but it didn't help much, so we transferred to the other side since it looked like there were fewer flies. While eating, I was fanning our table almost the whole time so my lola and sister could eat properly. My lola is a senior, so she couldn't really keep shooing them away. It was honestly uncomfortable even the CCTV could show how chaotic our table looked just trying to eat in peace. After eating, I spoke with the manager to share my concern. He explained that they already do regular fumigation and use traps, which I appreciate. But he didn't apologize or acknowledge the hassle of our experience. I suggested maybe raising it with the Clark management team for wider fumigation because the problem might be beyond just their area. Lastly, when I mentioned I had my dog, the manager said I should've just left my pet in the car which was disappointing to hear. It's not safe to do that, and it felt like they don't really care much about pet owners even if we're following the outdoor-only rule. The food is great, but the outdoor dining experience really needs improvement. Cleanliness and comfort are just as important as taste especially since flies can carry diseases.

I looked at the lettuce and I couldn't bring myself to eat it (looked washed but not thoroughly enough). In fact, a spider crawled out of one and make its way up my arm. I also didn't trust the water. There were definitely floaties in there. It can get really busy, so get there early. It can be hard to find parking. Staff was friendly.
